I have some BGS, and compare to my proto and armstrong they are good quality, but not the upper end like my proto.

With wrenches, the 3 your mention are upper end like proto. So BGS is not quite as good compare to them. The german made wrenches are much better.

They are really in line with gearwrench and craftsman's.

Thanks, guess i end up with HAZET set then at the end.... I still have a nice complete set of KRAFTWERK at home in Germany, i loved it, ever heard about it, i think they are Swiss made.... ?

looking through their catalogue. I would say the BGS is right in line with the kraftwerk stuff. Allot of their tools looks like they are made in the same factory as bgs, KS tools and gearwrench stuff. Especially the pass throughs and wrenches.

 Ok.. Still laughing. :lol_hitti

here´re mine:

This photo makes want some.

Got a free trunk full of junk from my employer:

I can see some very good "junk" here.

I got my 3/8"socket sets in Hazet and Gedore. The other Hazet set is a 1/4" socket set. My first Gedore pair of pliers and a A few Orbis (German made, high end) pliers.

Nice sets! Where is the 12mm socket from gedore set? :(

The orbis are so

Glad to see that you working class guys from Portugal, Greece, Spain pay back the debt to the germans step by step by purchasing tools made in Germany.....

Doesn't counting because we take them back at the summer.

Quality knows NO nationality / borders !

Exactly! :thumbup::beer:

BTW Monte, what do you think about BGS tools ?

Wow Monte  I don't know where the 12mm went??? I guess I will have to hunt one down and use the one in my 3/8 Hazet set until I do. :willy_nil Whew! I never noticed...

Monte I'm really impressed with the Orbis Hand tools. I wanted them all, but I had to remain practical this time....no really...(insert sharp head pain here)...No really, really. (insert Chuck Heston's voice here) CURSE YOU TOOL GODS!

I acquired this from a great uncle who passed away a few years ago. He was visiting my mom and asked me if there was anything I wanted out if the barn he was cleaning out. I said if he had that big ol wrench still id like it. A couple months later it shows up and I love it.

As far as I can tell it might be from the '40/'50s bit my mom said could be as early as the' 20s. I remeber as a kid everybody in his little community would come borrow the wrench to fix a tractor or what not then brimg it back. There is no telling how many times it left his farm and made its way home. I have no idea where he picked it up but its cool in my book. I have used it for everything from tightening down the ball on a hitch to the rear axle nut on a bike just for the nostalgia of it.

Guy...help me out. Do any of the old world manufacturers make the ratchets without the big fat plastic handles???

I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any results.

I don´t own any tools from them but they´re tools for the DIY user, standard quality.
Alright, COO, like mentioned, means not that much to me, what matters is the quality, how to they hold up in comparison to, let's say, Stahlwille, Gedore, Hazet...?
Difficult to say since "they" can produce different qualities, but i guess because of the much lower price at least in case of ratchets a lower lifetime. (?)
Thanks, guess i end up with HAZET set then at the end.... I still have a nice complete set of KRAFTWERK at home in Germany, i loved it, ever heard about it, i think they are Swiss made.... ?
Swiss company.... tools look like they´re from Danaher...

no doubt

That pretty much sums it up.....you never really know what you are actually buying, which quality and from which OEM.... today the quality can be good tomorrow the supplier changes.......i stay with companies where i know where the tools are from...

Today's car boot finds (£4). The Stahlwille socket (19mm, 12pt) appears to be much nicer quality than the spanner I posted previously.

Edit: I very nearly bought a 100mm Bondhus hex-key just because it was stamped "Made in Barbados"! I didn't think they made much of anything there apart from Rum and sunshine.

And some recent ebay purchases:

This is very interesting! Can you specified the age of the spanner from the pic? I think we have (me and the spanner) the same age (~40 years)! :lol_hitti

this wrench is not more than 20 years. Old keys it will be no different. Will instead "Russia" written "USSR" The big difference will not be

I was looking your photos again. These two gives me the impression that it has close to zero free play.
How do you compare it with the irega? They look the same!
Yes you right! Both have good tolerance when it's comes to grip bolt/nut, but I prefer Irega, I think the Irega have more refine made..I mean more smooth surface than Bacho:D

This is funny, although you sure are right, and i can see the stamping, this doesn´t look like a Bacho to me. Bacho has always used a black phosfated look (that fades to a more bare metal-look over time) or the softhandle rubber-style, that was introduced in the late 90´s. But yours look really nice, though. Maybe I should add one to my Bacho-collection ...
Great collection Congrat!!!!

Mr. Tools,
You can twist them like tootsie rolls and still won't have to worry about chrome peeling.
Thanks!! great pics to show us how durable Stahlwille finish...
I don't think I can do it to my Open Box 14:D, I believed you can do it to Open Box 13, but maybe not for Open Box 14:D

Coromant tools are excelent! As I remember, the best sawblades used that name too, when Sandvik still was in the handtools and saw business.
Right Coromant tools are excelent! no doubt:thumbup:

@ your Stahlwille wrenches: These are brilliant too...only thing that annoys me, is the weak marking of the size - since "14" is the most significant number, I tend to take a 13 or 15 mm, when i really need a 14 mm ;)
:D

My Stahlwille 14 series wrenches are the same way: Some are with the size forged into the handle and others have the size stamped on the head. I assume that this is a transition phase from an update in the style. I find it annoying to have a set mixed like that when I bought it at the same time:gunfire:
Other than that, they are truly awesome wrenches. I'm torn between these and my Hazet 600Ns
me too..I bought 13mm,19mm, & 24mm 12 years ago..the size stamp at the open jaws head, but the newer purchased set mark the size at the shank body only 21mm still mark the size at the open jaw, maybe my 21mm is the old stock.:headscrat

Nice thanks. :) Difficult decision with all these great tools hah?
;)
Strange, you have 21mm but no 22. Were do you use it? I use my 21mm socket extensively, also use a deep offset wrench but never an open end or straight box end.
here my 22mm and..:)

Unior. The short ones for my bike collection.
nice..

Unior
Beta
Gedore
no doubt Gedore is the best!!!! Unior & Beta is the "alternative ways" ;)

No Gedore for your bike? Shame on you! :p
One huge drop forged Netsuren:thumbup:(not a piece of **** like the JIS B 4630)
nice wrench..it not a free gift right?

No! The gedore are so thin that can't work like that. :D
great pics thanks Lok:thumbup:

no problem with the internet ;)
hopes not:D

no, from a candy factory where i worked a while ago :)
yup, Gedore ! Very good eye ! A older "Gedore Adjutant"
awesome :drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:
I'm a big fan of Gedore Adjuntant series...sadly impossible to get it here:sad:

The tools are supplied by the employer so nobody really cares. You use the tools and simply put them back.... if you want clean tools, go clean them :D i have no time :D ;) and they´re not mine :D ;)
you right!!! ;)

ps: sorry didn´t have the time yet to visit the Wurth store because they already close at 5 o´clock :(
It's ok take your time;)

yes they will forever ;)
If Gedore don´t produce here anymore Germany is out of business :)
yeah the tool ministry just called me and told me i should tell everyone to buy some more Gedore tools :D ;)
really???? thanks God:D:bounce:

The photos are both from Greece. The first one is near the the northern borders and the second one at the big sierra of central Greece.
They are from all over the Greece mostly mountain roads and trails. :)
Oil change and filter cleaning before a good cleaning for the next trip.
great landscape photo and awesome "in action pics" thanks to shared:rocker:

Got a free trunk full of junk from my employer:

Mr. Tools---Shouldn't you be using a flare-nut wrench on those oil lines???

You could get them much tighter, without spreading that way!

And some recent ebay purchases:

That pinching pliers is really nice. Do they have a current version?

New "Walter Schroder" drivers. I bought them from ebay for 15 € (include shipping). Is this a fair price?

That is a good price! Private seller?

Wera's new hex-plus key set. Wera's boss literally stated that they copied the same colour coding as PB Swiss does. :D

I want those!

here my 22mm and..:)

Nice pics!

Stahlwille open box 13 and 14 6-24mn both set + 27 open 14

Nice collection!

I found a few vintage goodies earlier this week. This is the second Hazet piston ring compressor I have found lately. I just wish I had a use for it! Still a beautiful tool all the same. If anyone can use these, let me know.

I'm jealous of that piston ring compressor!

Now I'm going to bore you a bit with some stuff that has been posted before. We had a "fire scare" in the garage. The building next door burned. So I got round to taking some inventory pictures for insurance. And thought I might as well post them here also, since I haven't got anything new to post...

I suspect so as they're the Gedore UK dealer, but they sell all their old warehouse stock from their ebay site: allqualitytools1000

I assume you mean the ones that look like long-nosed end-nippers (they called them pick up mini pliers in the listing). I honestly have no idea how they're intended to be used, but they came as part of the set of 3 for £8 + shipping, so...

Yes I think he was a private seller.

Your pics are...

This is your private tools??

Thanks! Yes, those are my private tools. I'm just a hobbyist, my work tool is a computer.

Oh, they had some nice stuff. Only shipping to UK though. :(

Yes, the flat ones with the pinching end. Don't know intended use either, but they looked cool. In a long reach version they might be even better for picking and pulling stuff.
