No, none of my Beta tools have a coo on them.

None of my Beta tools have a COO either. When I emailed Beta for COO information I never got a reply.

I've seen some older Beta on a Japanese site that had a COO that said Italy.

There is no swiss made one afaik. The closest to switzerland would be Hilti or Flex or the Rems/Roller brand saws from germany.
These are the only ones made in western europe afaik.
There were german made Bosch, Fein and Metabo saws (made by Flex), maybe with luck you can find one.

New Hazet pliers. I am not really a pliers guy - only use them then necessary, but honestly these aren't too impressive. I haven't used them yet, but thet are quite small, a little thick, and pretty stiff action. If anybody wants to trade for some NWS or possibly Knipex, we might work something out. Hate to get rid of any Hazet, but...

The axis (torx) bold has the tendency to loosen, the pliers then become sloppy...
My experience with this type of size adjustment is not good at all

They are quite tight right now, so I tried to loosen them a bit. Not sure what they have on those threads, but it ain't movin' easy! I did get them freed up a bit, but it was some work.

What are you looking for ?

"Max Bahr" offers mostly Stanley and in some markets also Bahco tools but it´s quite pricey. They also offer their own "Bahr" brand tools (mostly import).

"Bauhaus" offers Knipex, Kirschen, Matador, Bessey and Wera hand tools as well as their own "Wisent" brand. Most Wisent tools are imported, but they also have some "highlights" like the screwdrivers above. Punches + chisels are german too (Carolus/Gedore). Wisent saws are mostly german too. Knipex is very expensive, Matador cheap.

"Obi" offers "Lux" tools in some markets and "Connex" tools in other markets. These brands are a mix of import and german, for example some pliers and screwdrivers are made in Germany (Lux pliers = NWS/Will, Lux screwdrivers = Felo, Connex pliers = Orbis, Connex screwdrivers = Schröder), sockets + wrenches = import. Some Lux hammers are from Gedore some from Osca (+ Peddinghaus i think), some axes are german, punches + chisels too etc.

"Praktiker" tools are rebranded to "Black + Decker", so almost all hand tools you see there say "Black + Decker". Mostly import, except screwdrivers (made by Sora) + clamps (made by Ideal). VDE pliers are german (Orbis) but thats about it. Expensive. Probably the worst store in terms of quality.

There is also "Hornbach" who offers Wiha, Bahco, Bessey, Witte, Erdi, WGB, Pferd, Kirschen, Proxxon etc.


The "Brockhaus" vise is sold as "Lux" branded vise in some Obi stores.

I must post some pictures of my collection over the coming weeks and not long ago recieved my first Gedore/Hazet order from TBS Aachen which was mentioned on here. Good service and very reasonable delivery rates.

I'm mainly after screwdrivers, torx/hex spanners, felco secateurs, drill bit set, counter sinks, adjustable spanners, wire cutters, hammers, box spanners, chisels, files, pick set and some Karcher items.

Depending on what i see i may end up buying more

My wife is german so she will be coming with me but tools is not her thing and cant understand guys addiction with tools.

As we are only in Cologne for a short time i wanted to go to the best store where i could buy most of the things I wanted.

As a follow-up to svranjic question, what stores would you recommend for buying Hazet or Stahlwille? What is ruffly the price difference between an online shop and an ordinary store.
