Where is this box made? Are all the Hazet boxes actually made in Germany or does some other company make them? If another company, which one and COO?

Jens answer is correct. HAZET have a second manufactoring hall called "WerkII" in Remscheid, where they only producing this Trolley vom the 160St up to the 179Big. I visited the factory also - here i post one of the pics

As far as the Toptul ratcheting screwdriver, does the direction selector provide enough resistance so that it cannot be turned accidentally during use? The Gearwrench ratcheting screwdrivers exhibit this terrible characteristic.
Is the ratcheting mechanism coarse or fine tooth?

Thanks,
Dave

There are several threads about this ratchet screwdriver if you search for "Lancer screwdriver" you´ll find more info for example:

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1262737&highlight=lancer+screwdriver#post1262737

BTW: The 1/2" torque wrench looks very similar to the BGS version (and some other el cheapos) you find everywhere on ebay. Seems to be the new "high performance" design for asian made torque wrenches (besides the regular all chrome versions you get at HF & Co). Wondering who the OEM is for those.

My coworkers all have Snap On, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my life, no help from my friends.

Palmera, Irazola and Acesa disappear, only SNA Europe remains Irimo and Bahco.

I think the chisel made in Spain.

I ordered a Acesa talocha(in spanish) grout float(in english?), and I have received Bahco tools.

In addition Acesa has an offer with big discount, which also appear Irazola tool.
In the delivery notes reads: Bahco is Irazola.

I think Irazola Acesa and Palmera names disappear, uniting all in Irimo and continuing Bahco. Not think any plant ceases to operate, but I will ask this weekend Ferroforma, and will put pictures of the fair, and Motortec to which I will also.

My Boehm (France) deluxe hollow punch kit, very useful for making new gaskets, washers and a good kit to have if you do general repairs and maintenance.

That is a very neat socket set, it's the Hazet 854 X, available at Ebay.com or directly from me. If you mention the Garage Journal you get one of the cool Hazet 863 bottle openers as well.

Regards
Jens

All the 1/4" sets give me a headache! I can't decide which I need. Seems like the fine tooth set may be the way to go, but then I can get a Facom set for less than half the cost or an SK even less.

Toolfanatic,

Nice! I've seen that at my local Lee Valley store. Pretty spendy, but if you punch out a lot of holes, it's gotta be a must-have item.

Bhae, I Like to see photos of your store. Have you thought, to open a web store?

Best Regards
Knightmasks

:+1: Looks like a cool store to spend an entire day at.

Can't find the model number for the new fine tooth Hazet ratchet with the sunken change lever in 3/8". The 1/2" version is 916-1. Is there a 3/8" model out yet?

Bart, why pay less when you can pay more? Where's your commitment to the brand :lol_hitti

Why not take the new smart case 856-1? I just got the first of those today, and they look very fresh.

No, not (yet).

Thanks, Jens. Do you know if one is planned in either 1/4" or 3/8"? It looks like that design would be better than the current fine-tooth with the wheel-style change lever that sticks out. What do you think? I'm wanting a fine tooth ratchet from Hazet and wonder if I should wait for the new style.

By the way, does anyone else think that this thread has gotten too large? I'd like to see a separate forum for "Tools from the Old World" so we can go back and find things easier. There seems to be enough interest here:dunno:

Yes I agree 100%. Also I nominate Monte to be a moderator over that. I spend a lot of time in this thread and have to go through many pages to find stuff all the time.

I have had that one a little while, but that was the first hard use. I was trying to pry off the little dust cap in the center of the wheel. Should not have broken!

Another vote in favor!

The activity in the tool forum is high as it is, some sort of split should at least be done. Perhaps a main forum for generic questions, and a "Old world" and "American" sub-forum for posting of pictures and brand discussion.

Are you at the Ferroforma all 4 days ? Please take 1000´s of photos :D
Please tell SNA that they should keep one brand with 100% spanish made tools :)

btw. Bahco:

The new Bahco wrench design:
The dealer said that these wrenches are now made in Spain and not in Argentina anymore. Almost taiwanese quality :) (in terms of finish)
