In case anyone is interested in those Bosch bits. Sears has a set with a different case on clearance for approx $19. They are made in Germany.
I think I saw some info about Lux pliers made by NWS. I bought them, but finish was horrible and the wire cutter was so blunt that I returned them back. Maybe Lux sells some second-quality tools here in Czech republic or what...![]()

Knipex + Grip On

edit: MONTE!!! grrrr.

Right know I'm looking for a set of go-trough sockets. Besides lots of no-name stuff (BGS and other 'professional tool' manufacturers) I basically found two interesting sets I would consider.
Proxxon
Bahco
Both are in the range of sub 60 EUR. Would pay maybe up to 80 EUR if I could get a reasonable benefit. Any suggestions/opinions?
Knipex
Grip-On
Someone should start a "Toolboxes of the old world" thread. Those european toolboxes are a thread all of their own, quite different from their american counterparts. I would start one myself but I don't have a european toolbox.
Thanks for a link!! It very useful for my future Insulated tools shopping
I found a very good Plastic plier with ceramic cutting edge![]()

I dunno, I was wondering about fire damage, chemical treatment or over zealous wire brushing, but hey, it they had a matt grey finish and weren't smooth to the touch, then that's the way God/Gedore intended! Been a lot on my plate here lately...

Ahoj dykmore ! I've got two combination pliers, one NWS and one Knipex. I noticed that the NWS pliers bend a little bit more than the Knipex. I don't know why. Probably a different kind of steel, i mean a more "elastic" one.
@mrtools: Thank you buddy ! The bit holder has a 2 composent handle : rubber + hard plastic.

here are the pictures of the different finishes of two gedore wrenches:

New tools!
Took me about 4-5 months to get these M-tec nut drivers. They weren't available anywhere in the US. Chadstoolbox.com had to special order them for me. It should be easier for folks to get them now as they are added to their website.
NWS high leverage cutter and combi pliers. VSM tip flat blade weras. Knipex Cobras.
Wera metric ball hex drivers and some metric hex bits!
it worth to wait.mrtools, congratulation for this Tone set, the quality looks impressive, indeed. I like the breaking bar, how many teeth for the ratchet ?

Yes, those combination pliers on the second image... I will take a photo of that blunt wire cutters when I go to OBI again. And one thing was strange for me on those pliers - the handles had quite big recoil (they "bended") when I pressed them strongly.

I have got the Bahco (see older post in this thread). I think I would recomend the Proxxon. I have been happy with my other Bahco S-line set, but I think the spline type sockets are bad. The ratchet is ok, the selector a bit hard to handle, but overall sturdy for its size and type.
Nice Felo drivers, and they even match the NWS handels.
No just hobby, mainly metalwork and electronics.
For example: at the moment i am building a CNC router/mill.
And off course I could do that without the expensive tools, but there's no fun in that...
BTW: Very nice Tone set. What did you pay for it?
very nice socket set ! Congratulation !![]()

Just curious... Can you elaborate on why you think the spline drives are bad? I've had very limited time using spline drive, but so far I don't have any complaints.
Sure!
I feel i got my worries a bit confirmed. The fitment is worse than my Bahco S-line 6-point sockets. I don't like the feel of it. Even though I haven't stripped any bolt with it, it feels it's going to happen.
For me multi spline drive feels a bit related to cheap ****. A gimmick thing. I only need metric 6-point also, so the multi thing is totally lost on me.

Oh.. I seeawesome project
Thanks! about $105
Nice!! how old a driver?

Awesome Carolus ReadyFlex![]()
Hi, thank You for finding the lost twin of my onebut your set is more valuable than mine, because of the pouch and the most important thing - couple of extensions. I dont have any
only handle alone...

My favourite 1/4" ratchet of its kind: Carolus ReadyFlex
Another one of my "must-have" items ever since I saw it on this thread many moons ago. Even after some use the ratcheting isn't the smoothest, but that's why there's such a thing as a ratchet spinner.
