What exactly are spanners?I thought spanners were a sort of adjustable wrench. Those posted above in the plastic roll up seem to be like spark plug wrenches. Please explain this for me.
Thanks

That's a question  Jonnesway seems to be cool, even that metal-on-plastic thread on my new micro bit holder looks strange. And I don't know anything about Magg.

The "spanners" in that roll were the prototypical shape of spark-plug wrenches, and they're called either box or tube wrenches. Not very common here, I suppose.

Alrighty then. In British English, an adjustable spanner is what we would here would call an adjustable wrench. They're the same thing. American english calls something entirely different a spanner. The little flat tools with pins or tabs to catch onto something and turn it. Now that would be a "pin" or "hook" spanner to those using BE.

See this page for a bit more info on various wrench types and stuff.

@Jure, very nice old Knipex and Unior wrenches, look strong !
Wera and Wiha are very good brands, whatever you buy, you can't go wrong. I own different tools from both. Concerning regular drivers or driver handle/switchable blades, i'll tell you i'm not a big fan of the last ones, i would recommand them for motorcycles cases or similar but not for a serious wrenching. Also, a regular drivers set, let's say 8-10 drivers (flat tips/philips/pozidriv) is not so expensive and probably more efficient.
You can do a search on GJ about drivers, you'll find many online sources with affordable prices.
ps : iirc there's a Bauhaus in Split, have you already been there ?

Can someone tell me how good is this? and which is better wera or wiha?

and this is better then regular screwdriver or?

Hi! I think this depends on what you want to do with it. If you carry your stuff a lot, you might be right by choosing one of these (less weight than with a whole set of regular screwdrivers). So in this case they might be better. Otherwise you might prefer regular screwrivers. Personaly I think the Wera handle could be a bit bigger and it's no fun to use it with PH/PZ2 (or bigger) screws. On the other hand it's nice to use in small places with less space like mounting a drawer in a cabinet for instance.
The advantage of the Wera in my opinion is, that you can also use standard bits (short) with it as well as bits from other manufacturers. I don't know about the Wiha System but I doubt that you get these blades from other third-party vendors. Same with the linked Wera. The more proprietary, the less flexibility.

Nice tools bro:thumbup:

never heard of that brand thats why i was asking :)

i guess yes - or 12.000 Volt :)

New toys for R410a and R22...separate analyzers and hoses for each refrigerant to prevent cross contamination. Not the best but good enough for me to get some readings and call someone smarter than me to come fix my AC units.

Nice Yellow Jacket:drool::drool:

The guy with the brown van rang at my door this week...:)

Congratulation! nice Hazet socket:thumbup::thumbup:

Can someone tell me how good is this? and which is better wera or wiha?

Wiha

wera

also how hard is to find this tips and can i buy them ony by one without pack?
and this is better then regular screwdriver or?

I owned a Wiha driver and haved a good experienced with Wiha Telescopic screwdriver, very good multi blade screwdriver u can adjust a blade length.. Im working as a plant maintenance, It very easy to carry out anyway;) but i dont know about Wera..
for Wiha u can buy them separately Telescopic Handle and a screwdriver blade + u can choose a variable tips combination

Of cause a regular/standard screwdrivers are better:thumbup: u get a good balance, more solid/ construction, and more power for twisting a screws. But for regular and light duty jobs a multi blade screwdriver is a good enough:beer:

Btw : It depend to ur jobs:)

Jure, this is a round nose pliers. Knipex sell some similar products : http://www.knipex.com/index.php?id=1216&L=1&page=group_detail&parentID=1336&groupID=1343

Your Belzer are very nice pliers, old German quality, i like those translucide handles. Don't know the age, maybe 20y/old. Ask Monte, he knows for sure.

what?? few yrs back my father bought em :bounce: and he said "they ripped me off for" i know where he bought em so ill go there and grab some in the package, well with time they will be pretty rare! :lol_hitti

I made some pictures of my father's secret room ;) As you can see, he is an electrician. For the first time I took closer look at his tools and I was very surprised - so many West Germany tools, mostly Knipex, some pieces 30yrs and more old... I didn't know that it was possible to buy these fine tools here during the times of communism and cold war...

(This is really only very small part of all his equipment)

It was the East German tools that were harder to get hold of, West Germany was part of Nato;)

i dunno how old it is, they look all the same since like 50 years.
"Corona" is latin for "crown". Maybe because it´s the king of wrenches :D so they choosed the name :). "Corona" is a beer brand too, so maybe they´re just fans of the beer :D

ps: nice Refco set !
