No, different systems and different frequency bands.

The closest US analog was AN/TPS-71 ROTHR (Relocatable Over-the-Horizon Radar).

Yes, totally different technologically. PAVE PAWS was the first or one of the first phased array radars ever developed and dates from the late 70's which is when I worked on the equipment at Beale AFB. What I meant was that they both served the same purpose - detect very distant ICBM launches. PAVE PAWS is still in operation although some sites have been shut down.

I would pay $150 for this set without hesitation if I found it at local hardware store. Even more.

It is easy to find perfectly useful spanners and sockets today at low price, but I have yet to find cheap circlip pliers that last. When it comes to strength it is hard to beat Hazet. Nice find!

Nice I haved a good experience with Shell cable cutter:D
but in the market now it have original and imitation, the original one comes from Japan a price more expensive and a imitation one a litter bit cheaper..
It also difference from quality of material, and the thickness of a head. The original is thin compare with imitation:D
[...]

Awesome Sandvik top notch for cutting tools:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks, I did not know Shell was quality brand in Japan. This price is way to low for quality so these cable cutters make a nice addition to my Chinese tool collection. As such perhaps they are "tools from the older world" :)

And yes, Sandvik is (was?) excellent maker of quality tools. The files are incredible good.

I like Soviet history, it's fascinating. Have you heard of Ekranoplans?

Thanks, the separator weighs in at 2.935kg. It was EUR 84.80, including shipping from Germany to England, bought through Amazon.de. Much cheaper than i had expected it to be, seems Kukko's pricing is very reasonable. :)

Moose, i know very well "Ekranoplan" I'm with you about the Soviet history : definetely full of interesting products, Mig and sukhoï fighters, ilyushin IL76 jumbojets, atomic icebreakers, underwater weapons, enormous submarines manufactured in plants located at several hundreds kilometers from the sea:eek2:....Imho one of the most fascinating and craziest period in the History. Nowadays things are a little bit different, new game, new rules, everything is uniformised, standardised and come from "the Factory of the World" : China... Ahhhh let's back to the topic : Nice Kukko and nice price too.

@Olafur : when did you buy your Padre breaking bar ? I ask you that because the breaking bar pictured in Padre's online catalog have a different handle and there's no "Made in Germany" engraved.

@mrtools : ~ Eur 19.00 for 8 oldschool Hazet circlip pliers ??? Time for me to seriously think about moving to Malaysia:)
ps : Do you have a better photo of the plier's heads ?

Wow! 29 different wrenches? That's not even acceptable if your job, everyday, for 12 hours, is to tighten and loosen 13mm nuts and bolts. Well, maybe a little more acceptable lol. Very impressive though.

I have one 13mm wrench. :D
