It's Bost waterpump pliers, isn't it? :(

Better than a Renault: they even have a replacement warranty too! :lol_hitti

Rover? isn't that japanese? chinese? german? indian? indonesian? maybe vaticanese now... :headscrat

sorry, maybe next time! :D

the Kraftwerk T25 securitorx is a solid performer despite his most probably lowly taiwanese extraction*...
and for the grand price of 0.99€ it beats easily all the others to the bolts! :rocker:

* no, i have nothing against taiwanese tools as long as they're good tools! :lol_hitti

Nice Bosch ad I can say from experience that using the real Bosch tools is that cool. :bounce:

Cheers for the email address.

Also the importer says they are made in Austria but no COO so its probably made elsewhere.

Also I have the original Stanley knife thats been used in my family for 3 generations. :) All USA made even the blades which are only a few decades old. Newer ones here aren't Made in England but made in USA with imported parts.

the markings are not very legible on the pix but is there!

really ? :D

some new Unior wrenches...

nice looking tools !!!

This store is the third for this retailer in Reykjavik area. Its "competitor" has other 3. Include BAUHAUS we have 7 in an area serving 170.000 people. Add to this all the smaller specialized retailers... :Toilet:

I kid you not. :headscrat

one store for 24285 people

in my city (1.8 Million people) we have:
1x Toom
3x Obi
3x Praktiker
4x Bauhaus
12x Max Bahr

one store for 78260 people :)

But its good so if you go shopping in Reykjavik there is always a free parking lot :)

And yes, actually it is amazing how nice this ratchet still is considering the abuse it has taken. For many years I have had great respect for Stahlwille , and it just keeps growing.

yeah Stahlwille is nice ! Small company but nice. Only offer good tools back in the days and nowadays :)

If anyone would want to try repair/warranty, I'll send it to you if you pay shipping.

shipping will be quite expensive i guess

I'm of to Bauhaus to buy the last Germany marked Matador stuff...  :wtf:

happy shopping :)

@Monte: only a little note - there is an action sale in Czech Tesco stores just now - they discontinue selling of Stanley tools. Those Stanley knives nr.199 are there for 2Eur :eyecrazy:

:shocking: i just paid 6.95 € :shocking:
ok a bit too far to pick one up @ Tesco :D

some screwdriver love in black and blue(and a bit of red'n violet)
with Facom's finest, Wiha Proturn 1k, a brand new Bost, a Meister, and old Gedore, a Kraftwerk and some Wera... enjoy!

those Facom drivers look nice !!

edit:
btw, do you, Monte, know who the OEM is for those definitely non-swiss Kraftwerk Torx drivers?

somebody in Taiwan :)

btw. The Berner hex key look french ? Bost ? Must be one of the good Bost tools extra for the german market :) ;)

The dutch tool look german though... :headscrat

that's the Bost lottery... one is perfect the other is making you want to drill your nuts with a two inches auger! :D

"as in "brand new third warranty replacement" one... :spit:

too bad, i really liked those drivers, won't be buying new ones though; or only NOS ones. :D

thats no good ....i like their handles....
how do you know which ones are NOS ?

@American Lockpicker:
There are still a lot of Stanley knifes made in USA
check the coo here: www.Grainger.com

i guess Fiskars too

no COO - it´s not made where they say :D

might be tempted since i don't own a flex-rat and am a sucker for tools in distress... but 255.00 SEK for less than 1kg! :shocking:

remind me how you do say "****-******" in swedish please? :lol_hitti

yeah Stahlwille is nice ! Small company but nice. Only offer good tools back in the days and nowadays :)

small and good, they're focused on quality not flashy chrome finishes...
too bad they don't make the Rollmaster anymore nor bicycle tools! :D
they're like what eternum was in France(wrenches only)... but they're not here anymore. :(

Speaking of cameras, you can get great around the house cameras for great prices these days...

I was given a Kodak C143 for Christmas last year that does a great job for general stuff. Although I want to make a bracket for a dash cam in my truck... I also have a older Kodak Z650 that works great for me. 6.1MP, but it works great for internet use...

Or, just break out the classic 35mm! I have a old Vivitar 220/SL.

Here are some budget options through a site that is sorta like Cripe for electronics...

http://www.geeks.com/search.asp?SH=...4ffd574&LAP=0&SRM=0,0&Action=6&QuestionID=130

Hope this isn't to far off topic. Without good camera, how will we ever see the tools from the old world?!:D

too much trouble with processing, getting a scan done and then editing, etc.

so i "need" a DSLR :D :lol_hitti

Excellent idea, I will pass it along.
Nice tools and interesting to see something from N.Z, do you have any tools from Iceland? :headscrat
Wow, I thought my town of 120 000 was overpopulated with that kind of retailers, but it's not near those numbers. That is ridiculous!
Agreed!
I see "300NM" on the handle of your Gedore ratchet. I have used one of these and I was always afraid of breaking it. I never noticed this torque figure on the handle.

@mrtools : Nice Hozan tool....as usual :beer:
:)
- Taxes: :headscrat
> via carrier pays 50% import tax + 17% tax ICMS (due type of transport) + approximately 5% customs clearance services :eyecrazy:
> via post, clearance and ICMS free, only charged 50% import tax (charge made by sampling for consumer non-electronics and more is charged to large volumes, my case almost never :) ), even paying taxes still worth.
- NWS FantasticoPlus cost 26 Euros + 14 Euros shipping (combined with another product)
@mrtools:
- Very nice bolt cutter
;)
That ours (online buyer) second enemy after shipping cost:lol_hitti :uzi:
need to spend more $$$$ :headscrat
Of course, I have to point out that Hazet has them as well...
Nice blue black box:drool:
one more for the collection:
Matador 13mm combination wrench in the new design
new vs. old design:
Both nice but I prefer old design matt finish cools!!!!!!!!
here´s a video of a robot forge similar to what Gedore uses in their bavarian factory:

Old Bosch ad´s: :)
since real shopping is soo expensive i did some window shopping :D
Thanks nice video:thumbup:
wow awesome tools shop:drool:
Time for some serious German steel:
This one is probably 30 years old, give or take. I got this from "professional" shop few years ago and it was barely working. I took it apart and and discovered it was infected by the icelandic MBA disease - FOS! ( full of ****)
Now it purrs like a ***** cat and the 36 teeth ratchet mechanism is like new. ;)
It could probably be used as braker bar, it seems it already has seen the business end of a pipe extension.
Nice Stahlwille! you are very lucky guy:thumbup:
Stanley Classic 199
can be used with different blades:
Nice!!!!!
time to get to the meaty stuff... err... sushi stuff??? :D
copper cable cutter: like mrt〄〄ls' one but with yellow handles!
(with the Japan-made H.K. Porter hard wire cutter i posted with the Felcos...)
another view:
business-end view:
thank you again mrt〄〄ls!
Very nice sushi I like that:drool::drool:
Try it and you will love it:spit:
next some tools pulled from the bike shop:
assorted PB Swiss screwdrivers
red handles for eveyone:
with well used tips
misc. tools, some bike related, some not:
Awesome tools!!!!!!!
keep a nice pics coming:beer:
some screwdriver love in black and blue(and a bit of red'n violet)
with Facom's finest, Wiha Proturn 1k, a brand new Bost, a Meister, and old Gedore, a Kraftwerk and some Wera... enjoy!
all are good ones except one: can you find it?
a cookie for the winner! (or a ) :D
btw, do you, Monte, know who the OEM is for those definitely non-swiss Kraftwerk Torx drivers?
Nice oldskool drivers:drool:

no, only books, discs(sugarcubes, Björk :D) and some volcanic ashes in the garden :lol_hitti

Olafur do you know of tools or anything else thats made in Iceland? I buy a lot of stuff from Europe even really obsure places like Estonia, Luxembourg, Vatican, etc but never see anything from Iceland(not even food.)
They don't make much there , although there are 3 large aluminium smelters there that take advantage of the cheap electricity prices generated from geothermal vocanic rock.

The majority of the economy is still fishing though.

About all you will find is woolen clothing items.I had a look into buying some Iceland made socks but they were 25 Euros a pair , still i have real trouble finding good socks , most seem to get holes in after a dozen wears or less - pathetic!

you could try a pair of pink Snap-On, they're highly regarded here...

or if you want US-made and non-tool related, try SockGuy woolies or SmartWool's ones.

have a drawer full of Sockguys wool socks for the past six years and my feet are pretty happy with them with only a couple casualties(due to bad fingernail maintenance :D)...

I'm a big fan of Wigwam socks, US made, and can be had for "kind-of" cheap. Great quality. 2 pairs for usually 'round $15 or so.
