Man, that's a beautiful clamp. £70-£80 new from a quick glance on ebay.uk. Better start saving then...
Yeah this ones a little beat up but 100% Working .. Its the Made in England bit that pushes the Manufacturing price up.

Fluke 123 ScopeMeter. Made in the Netherlands, of all places.
...
Before i do anyone know of a good quality European or Japanese (or American, even though this thread is old countries) made multimeter? i have a gunson's one which is nice but no idea where its made (it has no country on it) i realize someone may have said before but im only half way through reading the thread![]()
My Fluke 289 is made in USA.
Here is one for you Monte, its a feeler gauge that I bought over 10 years ago at a petrol station (I've been living in Europe for the past 18 years) its marked "Made in West Germany" and there is a picture of a cat or small animal jumping through a hoop.

I think my Fluke 87 is.

I am a EE by degree, but honestly don't use it that much. I do still think Fluke is the standard, though.
87 is USA, at least for our market
thanks, guess I've missed or not got to that post yetFluke are the make to get then, had another cheap one before.. but it lasted a few months before startign to give wildly inaccurate readings ¬_¬ ill have to look investigate them (those two are a bit out of my current budget, but a cheaper one will work)
Hey Monte, can you show some pics of the two Gedore wrenches side by side to show the side of the beam?
I have a 1b 13mm too which I bought for a spesific purpose back in the 80's. Don't remember what it was but the deep offset thin-wall box end did the trick. Don't like the sharp handle though.
Some time ago I got these side-cut pliers for 2Eur in local pawn shop. I only knew I need them, but nothing about Garant brand - for "small" tools like this, is it good choice or not? Does Garant have something with Stahlwille?
Hahaha, thanks for the tip, I will try to stay away from those Germans, or in any need of communication I would try to switch to English![]()
Well, you know that you won't go to sleep without having learnt something new, now you know Bosch once made such tool (or somebody did for Bosch)
It has been at home for more than 20 years and it still works.
Nice soldering irons, have you and your father used them much?
Mine (well, it's from my father) has seen little use, to say the truth.
A few more packages arrived.![]()

but can you tell me what it is and what you use it for please?
Counter sink
Just because I think we all like pictures, here are some comparison pics of a 14mm socket in 1/4" and 3/8" drive - Hazet, of course.
Hi. That picture looks similar to the Pferd logo.klick Monte, I hope "click" is not patented;-)

Ohhh... By the way... This is the greatest forum thread I've read in ages.
Maybe just HeadFi forums click can compete.
I've been helping out a friend the past couple weeks, he's a former VW main dealer Licened (That's beyond Master.) tech.
Monte now has a little helper too ! Welcome Lil´ Monte
He helps me with all kind of things, like hand me tools, searching for screws etc.

First up some pliers. The pratt-read ones are made by knipex i belive. and on the left is a grip-on from spain.

This is one that I can't remember how I got but I bought it new. Hard to read but it says Rennsteig. This is my favorite chisel in this size.

These FELO screwdrivers are really nice and are made of Birch.
![]()
The Felo screwdrivers don't get used too much because I have all these Wiha screwdrivers that are my work horses. I love these drivers, phillips up front, flat in the middle, and torx at the far end
![]()
The Pratt-reads are Orbis, and I will be buying those wood Felos soon. They look awesome.
Anyone know about this wrench?

Whats the quality like and is it made in England?
I've been helping out a friend the past couple weeks, he's a former VW main dealer Licened (That's beyond Master.) tech.
Went to fetch something from his car and found this:

VW/Audi VAS5052 main dealer diag machine!
And another..
![]()
VAS5051 main dealer workshop diag machine, this has built in meter, scope, etc.
And he gave me this, a Hazet/VW T10039 door trim/panel removal tool.

I think the licenced VW techs were trained on the Pheaton and the Touregs with the big engines, some of our guys carry the VAS systems and can do DISS reporting for warranty work.
Thanks Jens for your offers!I can buy from the Hoffmann Group, so if there is anything you need, let me know!
Jens

I like it very much ! Feels good in my hands, nicely made cast metal housing, good paint job, functional "auto lock" mechanism, simple + efficient "clean" design. My favourite !

Yes, that's correct. Licenced techs are Master techs with the additional Touareg/Phaeton endorsement. A Master tech cannot do work on Touaregs/Phaetons besides routine maintenance and stuff like brakes.
Licenced techs do stuff like this:

(I know, that's Audi, not VW.)
I like the engine cradle thing, do they have to support the vehicle differently when they drop all that weight out of front end?
@Monte or Jens : All new Reilang are Swiss made ?
...
Do all 1/4" drive sockets are now stamped with "Made in Germany" instead of just "Germany" ?
