Here is my Wurth version. Its nice to usze but the only thing holding the bits in is the good grace of god. May stick a small magnet on the thumb wheel.

Brad

I use this one, it even has an adapter for 1/4" sockets. And the wrench is only 4" long, so you can work in the smalles spaces.

Price is 59 Euros incl. worldwide shipping.

I don't know if Hazet actually used Fostoria, but this is almost identical to the one they did use.

Interesting its made in Ohio. :)

Thanks!

Yes, the "fork" is plasti-dipped. Plastic is quite hard. Should hold up well. Got it because the two PB Swiss ones I have are smaller.

The suction cup holder is loosing the cups and gaining an aluminum plate customized to hold 1/4" and 3/8" sockets, bits, ratchets, and screwdrivers. That'll let the Assistent handle all common metric tasks which don't need anything bigger than a 19mm. I'll post picks when its all done.

Thanks !
Sounds interesting ! btw which Assistent do you have ?

Thanks Monte! What is your opinion of Witte tools? This one has had a hard life, but seems to have held up.

i dunno, they make screwdrivers for Cornwell, Matco, Stahlwille, NAPA, Klein, Wollschläger and others so they can´t be that bad :)

I hope the "assembly" involved more than just packaging? Maybe the handles and drivers put together in the US? Seems a strange setup. What could possibly be the benefit? Cheaper labor in the US? Less QC?

i dunno.... can´t figure out.... ......?

We need a drinking vid Monte.

no :)
I only drink cola or Spezi and Orangina and stuff like that anyway :D

Also my Wiha plier set I got around Christmas last year mentioned that the 3 tools were made in Switzerland but didn't mention the pouch or package so maybe they are assembled here. :headscrat

assembled into the package :D

Which one do you regularly use your Hazet or your Gedore?

Hazet is in my tool box. Gedore at home. So i basically only use Hazet. I have several non-Hazet sockets in my tool box though, like Elora, Format or Gedore, but all my 6 pt. + 12 pt. sockets are Hazet.

Anyone have a experience or opinion with this Stabila tools?

Stabila makes good levels. Yours for example :)

A PICS of my Tone Breaker bar and accessories:D

nice !!!

- I like the VDE tools because it helps not to close a short circuit :shocking:. I work in environments where tensions of 13.8 kV up to 500kV are normal, fear helps you stay alive.

Sure, fear and knowledge, and the latter is the one I lack.

- I always treat my tools with care.

That's how I like to do with mine, always with care, they will last longer.

- The gray part does not rotate with the set, must be holding his hand to hold the position.

That's interesting, that's how I thought it would work.
Thanks!

My latest acquisition, Wiha screwdrivers. Made in Germany, so it says on the handle.. but WAIT, the packaging says assembled in USA? :headscrat WTF?
Which is it?

I guess they import the screw drivers and then they put them in a different package than in Europe, so the "assembled in USA".

And of course, welcome to the forum.

@servito : good drills collection:thumbup: Are you in wood business ?

Not at all, just a simple and new doityourselfer, learning to do some things and getting the tools I need to do so. I'd like to be in the wood business, because I like it a lot, or at least to know to do more thing that I do.

€ 10.- (closeout price) at the local "Hornbach" store.
reg. retail was 19,95 iirc. Don´t know much about their HSS bits, they had them too, but not made in Germany, i think they only make carbide tipped bits like most of the german companies, so i can´t say much.

I like that. What would be the cost of one of those?

Also, what would the best option be for shipping if I wanted a couple of screwdriver sets, a wrench set, and a few extra items?

EDIT: Bart, I like that one as well.

I started big reconstruction of my new flat this weekend. The very first friends and most useful helpers were these two machines

They helped me to modify old kitchen, built-in wardrobes and some concrete column into this:

I must mention this old ZN1 voltage tester, made in ČSSR. I love it. It was very handy to me when I had to disconnect the electric circuits:

And of course I established an emergency worktable imediately after I got the keys :)

So this all was four days ago, but there wasn't time to take more pictures of tools that came next days :( maybe tomorrow...

As Bart already told you, you can go the Wera or Wiha way, for example take a look at this http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_scat_228013_ln?rh=n%3A228013%2Ck%3Awera+kraftform+kompakt&keywords=wera+kraftform+kompakt&ie=UTF8&qid=1313009894&scn=228013&h=9f19b614f3d456cac6dbce7637f6c916267f529d

If you would like to know all of Wera offers, here is the link: http://www-us.wera.de/catalog_us.html?L=1&file=/en-US/kraftform_kompakt.html

@Monte: Thanks :) Here in Czech Republic, you can find Narex in different kind of stores - in ironmongeries, DIY stores like Bauhaus, Baumax, Hornbach, in professional stores like Fabory, but even in supermarkets. The absolutely best buys of Narex tools are in small shops in small cities - man can often find there 20-30 years old Narex NIB tools for amazing prices (ok, mostly screwdrivers :bounce: )

My opinion is that Narex made really professional tools in times when there wasn't any chinese competition. For example, when I see some worker with a drill nowadays, he has old Narex machine, new DeWalt/Metabo/etc., but never new Narex. But maybe I'm wrong. The sure thing is that my father's old Narex drilling machine must be a top-profi :) he wouldn't change it for any other (but it seems to be well-made thing...)

thanks !! Didn´t know that company ! Now i can go to bed :D

I knew that company but have never used any of their products, at electronics stores they say that brand is first class, but who knows...

....and i can borrow all of his tools... :D ;)

Don't you think that your tools must be better than theirs???

That actually would be a good idea for soldering stations which often have already a digital display - for warranty purposes

Hahaha, sure, it would be like warranty on cars, 5 years or 100000 Km for warranty, the first to last less :lol_hitti

if you talk to Lego figurines like i do then you have drunken too much :D

ps: The Craftomat drill bits are made by Koch Bohrer.

hahahhahaha, well if nobody else watches you doing so, that's allright :bounce:

Thanks for the info, is Koch Bohrer a good brand?

Some old world stuff from my recent Epstein order. No name on the hook and pick set but sold as Facom.

And someday I need to make a light tent...

Elora VDE screwdrivers, vessel wire strippers, couple of pairs of knipex and a NWS cutter (used but in almost new condition), an Elora 20mm 3/8 drive socket, made in west Germany so maybe NOS? plus the 2011 NWS and Stahlwille catalogs.

All arrived in time for me starting my new job on monday :D

The socket is very nice quality, not the prettiest socket ever ever but functional and nicely finished , need the rest of the set now (that one cost me 99p off ebay.... )

How'd you get them? My Stahlwille catalogue's out of date and i don't have an NWS one. :(

I got them through the websites, Stahlwille emailed me via there uk distributor to get my address, but NWS seems to have sent direct (its the 2008 catalog i have for them, which i guess must be the most up to date one, i got it on cd too though)

links here :D

http://www.stahlwille.de/en/services/download-center/printed-catalogues/

http://www.nws-tools.de/en/service/catalogue/catalogue-order/

you need to register for them both if i remember right (i ordered a bunch of catalogs recently) no cost tho which is good

A lot of tool companies don't seem to do printed catalogs now, least if they do there not so easy to get, cost must be an issue, lot nicer to read one then get sore eyes looking at a computer screen though :bounce:

Thanks!

Gedore sent me a nice big printed catalogue a while ago, along with other catalogues from companies within the Gedore-Group. No Klann one though, which is a shame. I really want a Klann catalogue. :(

^^ In France Gedore send only Gedore's catalogue + Oschenkopf (wood tools) but no Klann. They claim they don't have any.

I've seen an older printed Klann catalogue on eBay, but not a newer one. I think it's solely online. :( And the GB site doesn't have a working engine tools section.

I got Carolus, Metec, and a couple other catalogues with my Gedore one.

in Germany the same, Gedore catalog, Ochsenkopf, "@ work" + Metec catalogs only.
Klann is too special i guess, different market, different company , different location....480 pages.... "Carolus" catalog has to ordered separately too..
