Thanks!

Gedore sent me a nice big printed catalogue a while ago, along with other catalogues from companies within the Gedore-Group. No Klann one though, which is a shame. I really want a Klann catalogue. :(

Cool, i just ordered one from gedore (love the look of there ratchet spanners) so ill see what they send me

as an aside anyone on here bought stuff from asahi tools? or know where to get them in Europe? (i like the look of the light tools range, be very usefull for working on/keeping in my motorcycle)

that or any of the other Japanese company's, Deen Nepros etc

@Monte: Thanks :) Here in Czech Republic, you can find Narex in different kind of stores - in ironmongeries, DIY stores like Bauhaus, Baumax, Hornbach, in professional stores like Fabory, but even in supermarkets. The absolutely best buys of Narex tools are in small shops in small cities - man can often find there 20-30 years old Narex NIB tools for amazing prices (ok, mostly screwdrivers :bounce: )

My opinion is that Narex made really professional tools in times when there wasn't any chinese competition. For example, when I see some worker with a drill nowadays, he has old Narex machine, new DeWalt/Metabo/etc., but never new Narex. But maybe I'm wrong. The sure thing is that my father's old Narex drilling machine must be a top-profi :) he wouldn't change it for any other (but it seems to be well-made thing...)

Thanks for the answer ! I always wondered because we don´t have Narex over here so i can´t look at the tools and inspect them :) But they certainly can´t be that bad because Narex also produces professional tools like metal shears and the Protool power tool range and some tools even seem to be identical/similar:
For example:

http://eu.narex.cz/web/Catalogue/ArtDetails.asp?MID=1&ArtID=2778

http://www.protool.de/Produkte/Seit...d=623111&name=Schlagbohrmaschine-PDP-20-2-EAQ

they also make tools for other companies:

http://www.kress-elektrik.com/Elekt...ce_pi1[catUid]=27&tx_commerce_pi1[showUid]=65

http://eu.narex.cz/web/Catalogue/ArtDetails.asp?MID=1&ArtID=2767

and if you click here and then click here and look only at the motor and gear case....

I knew that company but have never used any of their products, at electronics stores they say that brand is first class, but who knows...

hmm so we should stay with Ersa + Weller ?

Don't you think that your tools must be better than theirs???

mostly yes :D :D

hahahhahaha, well if nobody else watches you doing so, that's allright :bounce:

:D

Thanks for the info, is Koch Bohrer a good brand?

"average" i think, there a definitely better SDS-plus drill bits out there for example from Heller and Hawera, i had good experiences with their HSS-R steel drill bits, i also have their "Bankirai" HSS wood still bits (from Craftomat) which is ok, the best wood drill bits i heard are from Famag though
http://www.fine-tools.com/holzspiralbohrer.html

They seem very nice, even more at that price, did they have more than the one you picked up?

They had 3 left when i bought my set but they are all gone now. They also had SDS-Plus sets too. You could look out for Bosch "Multi Construction" drill bits - they are similar.

and the Facom set is made in Taiwan. Oh well, it's just an extra to keep in he trunk of my car. :)

:(

Some old world stuff from my recent Epstein order. No name on the hook and pick set but sold as Facom.

And someday I need to make a light tent...

Postman arrived with some 'presents' for me :D

Tell the postman he can visit me too :D  ;)

@mrtools : Nice tools as usual:thumbup: I've got a Stabila too, very good quality and unusual strong "Rare Earth" magnets:thumbup:
Thanks to share your Stabila PICS and your experienced about Stabila tools:beer:
Actually a Stabila is not mine, I found at my local hardware shop..maybe I should get one:D

Those Hazet are new (and small) and I have only used them for some light duty. The Channellocks have been beat to hell for years. Not a pretty or elegant tool, but they work well. I think Knipex or especially NWS are probably better than either for quality and detail.
Thanks!
emm I am agree:thumbup:
many of the members here love Knipex and NWS pliers both companies specialist for pliers maker:)
Btw: NWS is my dreams pliers:drool::drool::drool:

Hazet is in my tool box. Gedore at home. So i basically only use Hazet. I have several non-Hazet sockets in my tool box though, like Elora, Format or Gedore, but all my 6 pt. + 12 pt. sockets are Hazet.

Stabila makes good levels. Yours for example :)
nice !!!

Keil Goldcraft carbide tipped drill bits:
Hazet makes an awesome socket, It must be in our toolbox
It not mine yet!

Nice Keil Goldcraft carbide tipped drill bits:thumbup:

Universal cutters, Old school Fiskars vs Felco CP http://www.felco.ch/
Thick and heavy, hardened blades+center bolt. "La qualité Suisse".
Very nice and usable cutters:drool:

I recently bought some of the tools:lol_hitti
Awesome.. congratulation!
How much do you pay for your Vessel precision screwdrivers?
Here in Malaysia so many Sata tools in the market. It sold in a good price but I am never try it yet:bounce:

I started big reconstruction of my new flat this weekend. The very first friends and most useful helpers were these two machines
They helped me to modify old kitchen, built-in wardrobes and some concrete column into this:
I must mention this old ZN1 voltage tester, made in ČSSR. I love it. It was very handy to me when I had to disconnect the electric circuits:
And of course I established an emergency worktable imediately after I got the keys :)
So this all was four days ago, but there wasn't time to take more pictures of tools that came next days :( maybe tomorrow...
Nice PICS and tools

Belzer 3010 N adjustable wrench
Awesome PICS and wrench:drool::drool::drool:

Some old world stuff from my recent Epstein order. No name on the hook and pick set but sold as Facom.
And someday I need to make a light tent...
Nice translucent handle screwdriver:drool:
Good if you got a France made Facom:thumbup:

Postman arrived with some 'presents' for me :D
Elora VDE screwdrivers, vessel wire strippers, couple of pairs of knipex and a NWS cutter (used but in almost new condition), an Elora 20mm 3/8 drive socket, made in west Germany so maybe NOS? plus the 2011 NWS and Stahlwille catalogs.
All arrived in time for me starting my new job on monday :D
The socket is very nice quality, not the prettiest socket ever ever but functional and nicely finished , need the rest of the set now (that one cost me 99p off ebay.... )
Congratulation!!!!!!!
awesome tools, please report the Vessel wire stripper performance, I am sure all members waiting your opinions?

Monte, are your Hawera drill bits made in Germany or imported ?
What do you think about "Löher" drill bits ?

Which type of bit ?? Carbide should be Germany, could be different now since Bosch has chinese carbide tipped bits too now (Hawera = Bosch). Lower price = import, higher price = Germany i think. HSS bits are from Spain or China now too. (Same COO as Bosch)

Löher drill bits are very good i heard, but expensive. They have a import line too now....

Actually a Stabila is not mine, I found at my local hardware shop..maybe I should get one:D

yes :D

Hello all.
Here are some of my (humble in comparison to Monte's) toolset:
NWS sidecutters and pliers. The best pliers I've seen to date. In my opinion better than Knipex.
p1010317small.jpg

Knipex Kobolt cutters. Excellent for light-duty works.
p1010319small.jpg

Some beat-up Wiha Proturn and SoftFinish screwdrivers. SoftFinish are way more comfortable.
p1010321small.jpg

Wiha ProStar L-Keys - Hexagon socket - useful when someone needs a longer shaft.
p1010320small.jpg

A (still) virgin Fein WSG 14-70 E compact angle grinder with variable rpm's.
p1010322small.jpg

p1010323small.jpg

And last: a Phoenix Contact CrimpFox 10S crimping pliers for uninsulated ferrules. Apparently made by Knipex for Phoenix Contact. The price paid is well below that for the equivalent Knipex 97 53 04.

What do you think of the wonky ring end on the open box 14's?

By wonky do you mean the steep angle? It is different from Snap-on & Craftsman but it is a LOT more useful if you are doing shocks for instance. I have been thinking of replacing my SO with a nice set of these.

Thats fine let me know what you think of it, I have the 13 series and before I go buying longer length wrenches I would love to know how the 14 series design compares to the more standard design of the 13 series.

Yeah Olfa is nice with a really large selection but NT Cutter isn´t shabby either ;) :) (actually i prefer cast metal cutters :))

just bought the tools, price was 50% off so the price was worth it :D I dunno about the blades yet, i have 18mm black blades from KDS/Japan which are quite sharp (i cut stainless steel mesh with it and no problems and they last)

To be honest I never thought about it. I use them on live wires maybe 5-6 times a year. Maybe I have to buy two sets of screwdrivers - one VDE and one conventional - with steel cap for using it with a hammer.

hi and welcome !!
very nice tools you have there !!!!!!

Thanks Monte. I'll post better pictures (from different angles) of the Fein angle grinder soon. I think you have a similar Fein angle grinder?!!! Is that true? If so I have some questions. Thanks.

Wow, been away for a while and there has been lots of great posts! Nice tools everyone!

One of the reasons I haven't been posting for a while is being busy with moving garages. Changing from a worn out old industrial building to this:
IMG_0808.jpg

I haven't got everything in order yet though. And since most things in the picture is made in West Germany I think they qualify for this thread ;)
More to the topic though is my tool collection. Still trying to get some order, but since I'm missing a real tool chest I have to manage with toolboxes and shelves. This isn't everything, but most stuff is there:
IMG_0819.jpg

Well, some newly bought stuff then. Bought these Bahco files today. On sale for 286:- SEK. Made in Portugal.
IMG_0810.jpg

IMG_0813.jpg

IMG_0815.jpg

I also extended my S-line set with a breaker bar. The SBS87 matches my S-106 perfectly. Made in Argentina, £30.
IMG_0820.jpg

IMG_0822.jpg

I got a little surprised when I got these. I needed 1/2" impact 30mm and 36mm, so thought I might buy a hub nut set since that might come in handy more times. Got a bit surprised though when the British brand on the box didn't match what was on the content. :)

Thanks. It's not much, but at least there is room to work on my cars. Not seen in the picture is some storage space and shared work benches. We're four guys in total there. I'm proud of my tools, but there is quite a bit of the tools that have been bought due to budget instead of quality.

It's nice to be back posting again. Sad to not see Cosmic Binturong though, I haven't heard from him if he has received the package I sent him. Hope he's ok.
