Any ever hear of a brand called Tecos?

All I can find is that its a Solvenian tool and die development center.

Looks nicely made, has a a silvery Stahlwillie like finish.

wow thats a cool idea !!!!!! nice cake !!!

V!

Yeah, design (no hole in the base) and finish (shinier) is changed.

i thought the hole is long gone except on the 1/4" ??

I'm really fond of the Wera handle design. And the chiseldrivers are neat. It's also my OCD that makes me love having complete matching sets :) Hence all the Bahco S-line stuff also :) I'm terrified of testing PB-swiss and liking them more, then having to change everything out :willy_nil

lol when i look through the Wera catalog there are still a bunch of screwdrivers left to buy for you :D Tri-Wing, Robertson, Torq-set :)
Thats gonna be expensive :)

This is getting silly!

Since you have so many different, which brands "quick exchange" system do you prefer?

yes i have a couple of different ones:
From left to right:
Bosch "SDS-Clic", Metabo "Quick" ("Bosch" system), Metabo "Quick" ("Jacobs" system), regular nut, AEG "Fixtec", Metabo "Quick" (Metabo system):

Bosch + Metabo "Quick" ("Bosch" system) are identical, Metabo "Quick" ("Jacobs" system) works similar. You tighten it like a normal nut and release it the same way too. Even if it´s really tight it works because the outer ring releases the nut (see video). Bosch sells these with their small angle grinders too, Metabo only with the larger ones and also recommend it only for 180mm + 230mm. The AEG (same like from Milwaukee + Atlas Copco) nut is basically a normal nut but with "handle" (see video). If it´s too tight it has 2 holes for the wrench. Metabo "Quick" (Metabo system) works different. After you switch the tool off and the disc is getting slower you simply push the spindle lock. You then can remove the nut easily. Makita and Hitachi have quick release versions too, but not as a nut but the flange underneath the disc (Makita offers both: quick flange + quick nut). But i don´t have their versions. Fein has a different system, not a "quick nut" or "quick flange" but a "quick spindle", but you need a special spindle + backing pad for fibre discs, you can´t use M14 accesssoires etc. so it´s basically only for cutting/grinding discs + flap wheels if you dont want to buy something extra. The spindle is also longer than regular so it takes a bit longer to remove it .

Since most nuts (except AEG + Metabo (Metabo system)) are quite high i usually don´t use them with grinding wheels and since i mostly have no problems with too tight discs i barely use them at all. They might be helpful if you often jam cutting discs and then i would recommend the "SDS-Clic" version. Metabos always come with their nut (except the entry level models) so you automatically have it, it´s a bit more difficult to remove than a regular nut because the nut is attached to the spindle with 2 "noses" which engage into 2 slots in the spindle. But you could use a regular nut too.

Here is a video which demonstrates the different types:

*snip*
Found this 1/2" drive 30 mm socket on the side of the road back in the 90's. A bit scuffed on the outside but appears unused on the inside. Never used it myself.

Btw, i can remenber one of your good review about your brand new NWS pliers. You noticed handles having a spring action when handling them hard.
Today i talked to a Knipex sales rep. He confirmed me that knipex pliers are completly hardened, handles + heads !
He also told me that NWS pliers only have heads hardened not handles. That's why they give this spring feeling and not as i thought because of a different kind of steel.
Thanks buddy!!!
to know a tools actual performances we have to tried a tools at their maximum limit that my ways:D
I believe what a Knipex sales rep. mention to you.
maybe NWS only focus their harden treatment process at a pliers head not a overall body:mad:
a handles feel too soft when compare to Knipex and another Japanese pliers:D but a head is awesome:bowdown:

Love those new cases. Especially cool that the large one matches up to the inserts for the Assistents.

Here's a couple of my Hazet boxes:

Actually can't find a pic of the case this insert goes in...

So what do you think guys? What is the most resistant to rust, chrome plated pliers or those with the titanfinish?

I try to find the chrome plated of nws and is almost impossible. so I'll buy those with titan finish, which I like more, or the chrome plated of knipex, gedore. :)

Victorinox scissors

Cool scissors:beer: 55 Hrc?!

Automatique nice nws pliers, my favorite ones.
Especially those with the old grip.

My favorite is the waterpump pliers. I also like the universal pliers, they're well made and the design is very effective. Also the good feature is they always open/close flawlessly : easy to manipulate with only one hand.
I wouldn't recommande the front side pliers, they're not made from vanadium then i find them too fragile to cut very hard steel or piano. Knipex have a better high leverage front side cutter.

Well, I just got it so I haven't put it through its paces yet, but it seems like it will be sufficient for applications involving electronic connectors, which was my intended use. Definitely not going to be putting a cheater on it, that's for sure...
