I'm sure Monte have 10 of these and some Supercuts on top for spite but this one is mine, all mine ahhahahahaha... :D

haha i wish i had :D
not even 1...... too greedy :D i borrow my fathers one :D But a multimaster is on my wishlist, because i don´t like to borrow things, maybe i can find a old model for a cheap price because i think i don´t need it that often, maybe as a delta sander and scraper 3x a year :)

A super cut would be nice too to remove some windshields every now and then... :)

Does anyone have a cantilever style tool box? Do you like them?

I have been eyeing this http://www.ultimategarage.com/shop/part.php?cPath=35_981&products_id=4519

there was a thread about them:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124664&highlight=facom+cantilever+tool

another:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47393&highlight=facom+cantilever+tool

Ok, I'll pass on getting it, also I signed up on that forum as 1590EVSK fanboy. :)

yeah i would wait for the swiss one because it has more power, toolless exchangeable blade system , and constant speed feature. Or buy the Fein Super Cut :D

I guess you will be happy on that forum - only Bosch cheerleaders there :D B-O-S-C-H yippieh :D

Hi, currently I do not have a cantilever tool box, I had to choose between HAZET 190L and IRWIN 26" (convecional model) , and choose the IRWIN due to storage capacity.

As for the FACOM model a few months ago I investigated a little and let me tell you it's an excellent choice, in fact very similar to the HAZET 190L. These boxes are sturdy, and feature a clever design that facilitates a great storage capacity.

(I do not know if I can post information from other sites, otherwise please tell me if I can no)

More info:

http://toolguyd.com/facom-cantilever-5-tray-tool-box/
http://toolguyd.com/hazet-190l-cantilever-tool-box-for-135-shipped/

Remember that there are always economic options available and acceptable in case of limited budgets have (or do not need some expensive):

http://toolguyd.com/low-cost-excel-tool-boxes-storage/

In any case there are already other threads dedicated to this subject (as it says MONTE)

Metabo rock drill bits are also very nice - they last and last... I use them in the smaller jobs where electric drill is adequate (sizes 25 & 30mm).
Very nice "tools in action pics" with awesome garden landscape:thumbup::drool::drool:
btw: thanks to share an awesome pics:beer:

I recently used the Israeli made thread restorer tool for the first time. I had to thread chase the pressure screw on my smaller 3-jaw puller. I had attached a socket on the end of the pressure screw to aid in the pulling task at hand. I was able to get the job done; however, the socket was not removeable. I had to get the angle grinder out to cut the ******* in two peices. In that cutting process I mangled the threads slightly. It didn't look that bad, but it was buggered up enough to bind. So, out came the NES thread restorer to clean the thread up. The process was simple, painless, fast, and most importantly, works.

Nice plastic surgery pics thanks to share ::beer:

Man I want one of those NES thread restorers.

Will one these work? (you find similar from Biltema, but not with this name)

Belzer Renova 1450 D
attachment.php

It has be in family as long as anyone remember, so it safe to say it is before 1960's.
attachment.php

Peech wood box is original, it even has very little left from original paper that was glued inside cover. My father remembered that box is original, but does not remember original color of box, I'll have to sand it down to see, what color is original.
I regulary use these thread restorers, very usefull tool.

There is actually funny story behin these;
In primary school I was working something and acidently damage threads from bolt. Theacher was very upset from this.
So I ask from him: "Where do you keep thread restorer here?"
And he reply: "say, what?" as he was never heard that kind of tool.
I had, as I got one these sets in home.

yeah quite heavy, 1 kilo with a small head, got it for 6 euro-bucks so i didn´t think much about usage yet :) A soft face hammer but with more "power" might be useful one day if space is limited. Also a lead hammer usually comes with this type of wheel to remove the spinner, my hammer is gone so i can use my new one for this task for example.

Ah hah! Your Monte is going to get some dayton wire wheels aren't they.

can you make autopsy pics of your other sockets too ?

:D

 Sure, with my nepros sockets!

ps: Looks like a taiwanese socket :)

You guessed right. Looks like a typical, mass-produced socket doesn't it. It's a Craftsman (Canada) socket made by Stanley Taiwan.

:lol_hitti Indeed, the evil was Taiwanese.

Yea the German is slightly better made. For example the shaft is more polished and soft green material has less defects in it on earlier German made one. Of course you have to examine them closely to notice.

A couple years ago I compared a Kraftform handle side by side. The differences are so slight that it's negligible; they still function as screwdrivers.

Unknow82,

Your heirloom thread restorer in the box is so cool. Thanks for sharing.

North,

How much does the NES tool cost over there?

Two days ago I went to an auto parts store, and called my attention to a rack of tools Tramontina PRO. Before I heard about this line (PRO), however I did not know their quality, so I bought a screwdriver ($3.5) to prove it with a cheap Tramontina ($1) I bought 3 years ago for home repairs.

Some conclusions:

-Both versions are economic :)
- Both have a plastic handle, the handle of Tramontina PRO is slightly more ergonomic, however, both have the disadvantage that it does not provide much grip if your hands are not dry :(
- The Tramontina PRO has a cap (twister) to turn it on the palms of the hands, which is very useful, even when used with one hand. Maybe this is the only remarkable feature. :)
- With respect to the tip and the bar, both are similar in that they can rust quickly :(, although the tip provides acceptable resistance in terms of use

In short, I think the Tramontina PRO screwdrivers not provide much advantage over its cheaper version, this disappoints me a bit because I have high expectations. And although we must be aware that both are extremely cheap, there are other brands for the same price for the PRO version provide a better value.

In the next, I'll buy the versions that have the handle with rubber, and possibly some sockets and wrenches to perform a comparative :)

I've found it at NOK 738 for the A1 version at a norwegian dealer. Add maybe NOK 150 for shipping. So around $120 + $25.

Those prices are :shocking::yikes:
I'd be  at those prices.
In comparison, I got mine for 65 NOK out the door.
Maybe we can arrange something.

Jalfaro,

Do you know if all the Tramontina tools with "Brazil" on the tools are really made in Brazil?

Jalfaro,

That's the same question I asked myself after comparing screwdrivers, according to the store where I bought the screwdriver (is an authorized distributor of the brand, and even is registered on the website of Tramontina) hand tools are manufactured in Brazil. On the other hand, wrote a commentary to the company, but have not answered.

In general, the screwdriver is not a bad product, it may be that had higher expectations of this line of products however, it would be premature to judge its quality just because of a screwdriver (as I said, it may be that I had a wrong perception). So, I would buy other products of the line PRO to analyze further.

That would be funny if German car producers would start to print a cat size leters side of the car "Made In Germany", but in this case I suspect that van has not seen Germany...

Looks nice, but i prefer to go to a store where i can look around as long as i want whenever i want and without the bad feel if i don´t buy anything. To call the dealer and visit the truck several times a week without buying anything wouldn´t work out for a long time i guess

Who is that cute asian girl? :)

The driver ? :)

found a vid on youtube :)
Looks like they produce some things, the amount of automatization in the factory looks like the video is at least not from china.

for 10€ ? yes ! For 3 convenient rates of 10€ each you can have it :D

 Thanks for sharing the info Monte. Interesting video. I'll buy some other PRO line tools to test

That comppany is long gone and generally most used tools in my area came from there when it went bankruptcy. No private person could afford tools like that, that time.

do you have old catalogs from that company ?

Interesting :) Someone should invite her to this thread. :)

Don´t have her phone number ... :( :)

What are "Bobbins" ?

Yes. 10 second accuracy is typical for a master precision level. That is equivalent to .0005 inches per foot or .004mm per meter. Pretty damn precise.

ah ok thanks ! Good to know ! Now i need one :D ;)
