Mrtools:
Pretty sure those Garants are made by PB Swiss, so it's a tie between them. Or, pick your color. ;)
Yes I know that..that why I am really interested to bought more Garants screwdrivers:D

you can find them every now and then sold in food stores like "Aldi" (like "7-eleven" or "Tesco")
are sure I can find it at 7-eleven or Tesco, maybe (Germany) can but not here (Malaysia) I never saw 7-eleven + Tesco here sell a good quality tools:dunno:
They all only sells a China made steel scrap:evil:

actually they are PB Swiss "SwissGrip" screwdrivers !
sorry only have "Multicraft" handle screwdrivers to compare:
and a ratcheting...:
Right!!
and thanks for a very good comparison pics really nice shot:rocker:
What ur opinion about PB Swiss ratcheting screwdriver, it the best made, function & looks ratcheting screwdrivers?

There are also modern versions of classic wood handles , same shape like the plastic handles like these Felo drivers or SKG:
Beautiful wood handle..Just like Japanese made screwdrivers.. Nepros..a combination of classic arts and moden engineering...speechless:bowdown::bowdown:

Got a European made radio kit from Radio Shack today. :) Now I have an excuse to buy more tools. :)
Great electronic project..it remember me when I'm in high school:thumbup:
tools fans no need an excuse or reason to buy more tools:bounce:

Some antidote for my recent Taiwan tool purchases...
Awesome Wille wrenches:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
perfect choice it my long times favorite wrenches.
but I'm still purchased to completed a sets:thumbup:

Today there was a Vintage car market here in Västerås. It was indoors, in the city sports arena. Many car and motorcycle parts, some random vintage stuff and some random ****. There was two sellers that had mostly tools. One of them had a lot of new Taiwan stuff, and all the used stuff in big crates. Anything marked Bahco or Sandvik were expensive, but there was a lot of "Made in Germany" wrenches for 10:- a piece. Grabbed some of those, will post that later.
The other one had more stuff for collectors, I took some pics:
Different sale stand, there oil cans grabbed my eye:
WOW:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:WOW!!! awesome pics thanks a lot to share a pics..:drool:
I spy a lot of exotic tools you are so lucky to be there:thumbup:

@Monte:
Made in Malaysia, and yes, great quality.
What both of you talking about? KDS measuring tapes, sure made in Malaysia, I never saw this tape here? if yes i have to get one:bounce:

So far I am quite impressed by the "made in malaysia" quality. Guess I will use it alot and the makita drill will stay most of the time in the garage. Looks like the GSR has enough power for most of the jobs I have to tackle.
:thumbup::thumbup::beer::beer:

Here is a Facom No.40 wrench I bought used when I was in my 1st technical job some 20 years ago. Its been with me ever since. I suspect it was made in 80's (?).
EDIT: from the small photo I have the new ones do not say "France" anymore, instead it says OGV which stands for Facoms version of FD on the ring end. Pic of the set attached.
Great looking france made wrenches set,I have one 13mm size no COO sure it from Taiwan.

I picked up a few more Festool items.
Congratulation buddy awesome tools..:bowdown::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Here are some of my old world tools
Bosch 18v hammer drill, 18v multispeed impact drive, and Kärcher drill dust catcher.
Nice!! Bosch 18v hammer drill, I need one in the future COO & close-up pics please?

Do you mean the Sbahco On ratchets? ;)

EDIT: nevermind. I misread the ebay adds. They were in USA, not Uk.

Prices for the ratchets here: 1/4" 44.90€, 3/8" 55.50€ and 1/2" 60.90€.

Yeah, those. Hoping to get hold of a set for a decent price some day.

yeah i already googled that, there was also once a TV report about the rock´n´roll-hot-rod-petticoat freaks :D celebrating midsommar :thumbup::thumbup:

Ah, then it won't be any big shock to you when you get here! For us locals they're a mix between amusement and a nuisance.

were the sellers private persons or dealers ? (www ?)

I noticed no signs of it being a company. Think it's just someone making a little extra money without knowledge of the tax man.

I think there will be another fair in a few months. If they're there I'll grab the pliers!

And i thought the swedes are polite :) ;)
btw.: Bahco already outsourced to Argentinia before snap-on took over....

I exaggerate a bit. But it was in a conversation with a older acquaintance who said Bahco was **** since that low quality American brand took over. :D
Yeah, I know. I'm not bitter about it, I think if they had not outsourced they would be gone instead so.

You should buy Swiss instead. ;) :D

I seen one of the newer hacksaws and its missing the "Made in Sweden" like that 80 tooth ratchet(The Bahco one is made in spain...) :willy_nil

Some PBSwiss drivers is on the wish list. Not that high tough, I have so many drivers already and they're expensive.

The lower tier hacksaws are Chinese. The blades are Swedish on those also though (at least on all I have seen here).

WOW:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:WOW!!! awesome pics thanks a lot to share a pics..:drool:
I spy a lot of exotic tools you are so lucky to be there:thumbup:

Thanks! Next time I will take more pictures.

I know that brand.
typical german dinner :D
mmmh lecker
i prefer the other typical german dinner: Döner :D
Only problem with the other ones are you need to have a long vacuum holes, and a big vacuum. The little guy is battery operated, and you do not need to hall a vacuum around.
but it don´t properly adhere to every type of wallpaper (my father has one)

Very cool to see some modern day wooden handle screwdrivers. Found this tucked away in one of the many toolboxes around the office/warehouse. It was bought in Redwood Minnesota in an english antique shop displayed in a case made in 1880 by Dunhams cocoanut. Polished rosewood and has 6 bits. It still works. It's amazing to handle a tool from that era.
wow thats old !! The oldest tool in this thread so far !

Monte, You buy something at the store? I'm trying to contact them, but they do not respond. It is a reliable store? www.primetools.co.uk

no, i didn´t buy anything there. What are you looking for ?

here you can´t either :) most of everything = import.
Some german made jig saw blades will be available in the local "Aldi" food stores in march for 2.99€ though :)

Right!! and thanks for a very good comparison pics really nice shot:rocker:
What ur opinion about PB Swiss ratcheting screwdriver, it the best made, function & looks ratcheting screwdrivers?
it´s ok, it also looks good and is well made, but the ratcheting could be smoother. I have a Bahco which works smoother, similar like the Wera. So i think i would buy the Wera nowadays.
Beautiful wood handle..Just like Japanese made screwdrivers.. Nepros..a combination of classic arts and moden engineering...speechless:bowdown::bowdown:
exactly

btw: nice wrenches + all the newer Bosch cordless drills are made in malaysia afaik

Ah, then it won't be any big shock to you when you get here! For us locals they're a mix between amusement and a nuisance.
nobody can shock me ;) i like sub cultures. The normal people are soo boring :D;)
I noticed no signs of it being a company. Think it's just someone making a little extra money without knowledge of the tax man.

that would be cool ! some NOS Dowidat pliers with package....don´t get any better..... old packages are pretty cool too

Yeah, I know. I'm not bitter about it, I think if they had not outsourced they would be gone instead so.

picked this quick power checker up at the local big box in Germany. It was for 2 euros. Made in Germany, what a shocker for being so inexpensive.

not sure about the ratchet, but I know the wurth wrenches and sockets are made in Germany.

PS

Just looked at those sockets closer. They are the new gear lock design. Think those are actually Taiwan made. Have not seen that design form either a US or EU tool company.

attachment.php

Only old Bahco tools, most pre Belzer -deal, made in Sweden, some from Argentina. No Sandvik (only one wrench), defenately no Snap-On era stuff.

attachment.php

Swivel head wrenches are from 8mm to 27mm.

On left side there are SAE sizes, bit more rare then metric.

Unknow, Man, what a nice tool board/collection you got!

Also, here is a ratcheting screwdriver that appears to be made by MegaPro in Canada..

Yeah, the ratcheting wrenches and many of the general socketry items are imported from China/Taiwan. Their stubby gear-less ratchets, with the push-through square drive is the same one sold by a brand called Titan, except you pay a higher price tag for the "W" logo.
Wurth's comsumable products are pretty awesome though. For example, their brake cleaner, aerosol RTV silicone, superglue, and that invisible film for your hands (can't remember what they are called).

thnks all for kind words, it helps with this kind of tool issue. :willy_nil

(But why several combi wrenches from each size ?)

Originally family had set 7mm-22mm, that is typical set sold in old days. Now I buy used sets, that usually contain something from 7mm-22mm AND some sizes I do not have.
I had compleat set from 7mm to 33mm, but sold it to my sisters husband.

I try to collect near mint set. Lukily most of SAE tools are unused and from 1970's (I suspect they are from scraped ship and they did not have use for SAE sizes)

Well, I got a pleasant surprise today. I received my Facom No.40 combo wrench set and while I was waiting for matt finish set it was the same partially polished look my old Facom No. 40 18mm was. And they also feel the same as the old wrench. I bought the 18mm used some 20 years ago. Got a good deal for a set and decided to get some more. There is a packing error though, there is 2pcs of 8mm wrenches but no 10mm wrench. Already contacted the company I bought them from and they at once told me they are going to send me the missing 10mm wrench

xn5kwp.jpg

The 18mm wrench is 20+ years old, others are new.

Why do you think that the wrench is made in Japan?
I was thinking the same thing. Kamasa is Swedish and most of their stuff is made in TW. But, if there is stuff from JP its interesting too. I have some Kamasa myself (incl. my tool cabinet).

There it is: Aigo-tools Japan is Kamasa.

Kamasa is known as good brand (I see it is awerage quality...even today) but good reputation is from Kamasa tools made in Germany in 1960's, Perhaps "Monte" knows who is Geraman manufacturer for old Kamasa?
Is it Saltus (or old Hazet 600 looks really close, I have some but only larger diameter.)

Today ALL Kamasa come from China or in best case from Taiwan...

Here is Bahco PU and some of desing through years.

attachment.php

"Made in sweden"
"Industria Argentina"
Later years "No coo", but made in Sweden.

Differece between those
attachment.php

-Old "AB Bahco Stockholm" or Bahco "Sweden" is very slim at opend end tip.
-Bahco Argentina has slightly narower tip
-last years Bahco, Sandvik marked also, has largest open end tip.

Personally I like early PU wrenches made n Sweden, later tools made in 1980's are better from Argentina, finnish is better. Older ones are also stronger, later Sandvik stuff usually has marks in box end.

btw. Belzer-Sandvik in pictures from "Uuze" are German made, contunue of Belzer and has nothing to do with Sweden Bahco.

^^ lol too funny when blondie discovered the heavy weight of the wrench :D - that happens when they put office people into the fabrication apartment for their tv spot - I was surprised she did not drop it

Anyone knows a manufacturer that produces hose pliers? Knipex has nothing to offer as far as I have seen and I am not quite sure if those 10euro pliers are up for the job?!
