Beautiful and a good tool
Thank, mate!

Some UNIOR tools. Made in Slovenia. They are very well built, pretty tough and they are actually not cheap at all. Here in Bulgaria, their pliers are a bit more expensive than NWS, but cheaper than KNIPEX.
I had UNIOR VDE 180 mm high-leverage diagonal cutters. They were very good and I abused them a lot, but i lost them at a job-site. Then I decided to turn over to KNIPEX in terms of pliers.

UNIOR_VDE_Tools_001.jpg

There's an issue with the single-component handle coatings like the one on the needle nose pliers. It's very rubbery and comfortable, but it slides off the handles easy. Luckily not on mine.
The dual-component insulation, like the one on the water pump pliers, is a bit harder, but stays in place.

UNIOR_VDE_Tools_002.jpg

Some screwdrivers. These are with triple-component handles - very comfortable. The black and the blue parts are hard plastic, but the grey - rubber. The biggest in the middle, the slotted, I use it mostly as a chisel. The UNIOR screwdrivers in general imho are very good.

UNIOR_Screwdrivers_001.jpg

Stubbys PH1&2 and 10 mm nut-driver with the plastic handles. These are the cheapest. I'll replace them pretty soon.

Thanks!! that a lot of information about Dewalt. I need to be careful to purchase Dewalt power tools:D
or buy Bosch :D ;)
Yes they have Bosch but made in PRC and made in Malaysia:(
You are not patriotic ? :D ;)

Nice hook! looks tough enough to hang almost everything:bounce:
ladders, cable, air hose, creepers..... :pimpflash
i think i need some more :)

Nice European made..
here a lot of China made in the market:(
they might have european made abrasives:
www.sg-abrasives.com

2-speed drill and rotary hammer. Sparky.
nice drill ! Unfortunately difficult to find the brand here

Thought id post up some tools which came in today.
nice tools !

Today's first arrival. Monte might be partly to blame for this one :) Actually though it's more the case that I wanted a die/straight grinder and this one turned up on ebay at the lowest price. I'm only familiar with the brand thanks to this thread.
;)
strange that it came without stickers ? Maybe the housing was exchanged ? but the spindle housing looks new too ? hmm :headscrat

btw:
"Metabo" label 1.80 £
Metabo rating plate: 1.20 £
http://www.powertoolspares.com/tool...essories-for-606303-ge-700/606303190/spares/#
:)

recently my friend call me to repair his hand drill..the drill bit cannot be remove :shocking: after he drill a 12mm X 200mm concrete:) hopes it not a BOSCH but it is a .....and sorry to says, the drill made in PRC:(
WTF happened to this drill ???:scared::eyecrazy::lol:

Still better than ones from Warsaw Pact countries. Communism killed quality everywhere...
Look at PRC, good tools are only those manufactured under brands owned by capitalists ;) .

The GDR made good machinery.

here we go :) The only mountings I had were way too large but I already had them and didn´t want to shop some new ones.
nice shop ! thanks for the pics ! what car is underneath the foil ?

"Oh you already changed the bit by yourself?"
-"Of course am I a dummie or what?" :D

nice shop ! thanks for the pics ! what car is underneath the foil ?

Sadly shop is waaaay too small basicly its a double garage with the left half converted to a working area. Major downpoint is that its very short (designed for tiny car :D). I am planning on building a new garage one day but atm budget is tight and I want to build up tool collection first. Just scored an amazing deal of a 532 stahlwille ratchet and knipex bolt cutter.

Under the foil sits an old Bmw 3series waiting for a fresh undercoating. Better pic here: http://www.my-choice.at/temp/BMW-E30-M3x.jpg

For what kind of application do you use that knife? When cutting through junction boxes or ...??

It is design to cut into power cable. The bulge end stays under the insulation so you can cut without losing contact with the cable so the cut is clean and through. There are plus and minus for that system. Not the best for hot taps where you are bridging off a live run in the middle of the cable.

Exactly. That's a dismantling knife for power cables. I'll try to take some pictures when using it.

Could you name some? Or better, name all ;) , such list will be useful in future.
What are you looking for ? Machines to produce paper or gears or a simple drill press ? :)
The most famous brand probably was WMW, still available used:
http://www.maschinensucher.de/cgi-b...ubcat=&subsubcat=&searchtype=keyword&lang=eng
There are more for example: Heckert, Niles, Wema, Mikromat...
There were dozens of companies with the prefix "VEB...." ("Volkseigener Betrieb" = "people owned enterprise")
http://www.maschinensucher.de/cgi-b...ubcat=&subsubcat=&searchtype=keyword&lang=eng
.....exported around the world from the east block to south america and asia.
Some survived the reunion, some not. Some east german hand and power tool manufacturers are still alive but mostly belong to western german companies like Rennsteig (Knipex), SWM (Stahlwille), NWS.
Bosch took over "VEB Sebnitz" and "Eibenstock" still makes power tools there.

Sadly shop is waaaay too small basicly its a double garage with the left half converted to a working area. Major downpoint is that its very short (designed for tiny car :D). A BMW 3er is a tiny car :D ;)
If you have your own property i would build a garage too, but don´t forget the lift ;)
Does it have a M3 engine or only the looks ?

Bhae,
Are the KS Tools made in Germany? I like the midget ratchet wrenches with those special adaptors!

Just hand tools (ratchets, sockets, wrenches etc). Comparing bigger tools and machines is quite different, I know there were may companies in all Eastern Bloc countries.

I want to recognize good hand tools if I find them, so please name them all and compare quality.
I have a nice 3/4" ratchet stamped "West Germany" :D but I want something from the East.

I can't understand the idea behind that proxxon ratchet...

To me the head shape is not important, important to me is the only great power that can act on the ratchet.

But he writes in the catalog, that this form is suitable for the head can be seen that the screw tightens.

or this one.

5190_30.jpg

The first has very low profile, 60 teeth and it is made in Taiwan. I have post some pics somewhere in this forum. If you interesting and can't find them let me know.
The second one is no more or less than a round head, 72 teeth ratchet, made in china (probably). But I believe that the round head ratchets are more robust than the most tear drop. (More teeth are engaged)
I think the price of both is close to 30 euro.

The one that you posted has very coarse teeth.

Personally i would choose the first cause of the better finish and the the low profile.

If you want a reliable german made ratchet take a look to this one.

The price is somewhere close to 30 euro plus VAT and you can find it only through the gedore magic. It can stand a lot of abuse and the only downside is the bulky head.

Here is an older model with the u20.

His mechanism is identical to this.

If you want more pics let me know.

Edit: The price that i mention is for Greece and not from the German e-bay.

@ all..
I'm glad I find you again.

Thats a good plan. Let me know when the time has come :) ;)

Ok.

original Gedore or fake ?

It is original. Of course it is not for sale. In one side it has a small bump so probably it knocked from the machine and nobody saw it.

:eyecrazy::eyecrazy::eyecrazy: 1" :eyecrazy::eyecrazy::eyecrazy:
What for ?

I don't know. :dunno:
I didn't ask.
Probably someone had only 1" impact gun.

Thought id post up some tools which came in today.

I have GEDORE 1993 U-20 and 190.1 UNIOR, but I need one that will lend to their neighbors, they do not preserve anything. This is why we Carolus and PROXXON great, low prices and OK quality. My friend has PROXXON, and jumps on it and it works brilliantly, I'm interested is the Carolus better then PROXXON.

Facom Gedore and are too expensive and I'm sorry to borrow them so that they break down, I need something cheaper with a "name". : D

Thanks for the advice

Carolus one-way ratchet, is this type of ratchet robust than the "normal" dual-way ratchet?

It's not - if ratchet mechanism survive, square will crack in one corner.

Man, just don't let your neighbors use cheater bars and any ratchet will be sufficient!

The carlos 60t or the proxxon 52t are both good ratchets. I have the 1/4" version of the proxxon and it works just fine, both made in taiwan.

Or jump on the ratchet.
Or beating it with hammer.
Or use it as a hammer.
etc..

@ aag14V

The square is interchangeable but i don't know how robust is the mechanism.

These ratchet has a very low profile and also can be used with this one.

Here is the gedore for 28.7 euro.

http://www.tbs-aachen.de/Gedore/Knarren_Einsaetze_Zubehoer/125_mm_1/2_Antrieb/Knarren/Gedore_1993_Z-94_Zahnradknarre__i1971_14273.htm

If you decide to buy the carolus try to find one through the carolus wanted promo. (prices without VAT)
http://www.labo.com.gr/manuals/LABO_ltd_CarolusWanted12GR.pdf

Tbs has good prices and the wanted promo.

http://www.tbs-aachen.de/Carolus/1/2_-_Programm/Knarren_1/2/Carolus_519050_Umschaltknarre_125_mm_1/2_i374_44899.htm

But Hetman is right. Buy a ratchet for you and your neighbors. Not only for them. So buy the hazet one. :D

Or the one way gedore, if you want to spend you money not only for your neighborhoods but also for something different.

I have an old 1993-2 and it is very strong but a bit bulky.

Yes it is both, bulky and strong.

Mine has seen a lot of abuse.

Monte, do you have any info on W.B.C. vises? Can't find much on them.

never heard of this brand, google only shows some pics etc. but no info .... sorry i dunno :(

Maybe one of our forum members know something about WBC vises ?

I only know GDR tools from the flea market so i can´t say much. The brands you see are either "Smalcalda" or "Radebeul". They had a file factory etc. and made all of their tools on their own, but you usually see these brands because afaik all or most of the tools were sold under these 2 brands made by several different factories because of their different system basically without competition etc. and with fixed prices so it was not necessary to sell the products under different names.
some items on ebay:
http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from...1313&_nkw=smalcalda&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I looked through the catalogs of the KS Tools and my gosh they have everything in any finish you want! Very nice.... too bad there's no US distributor

same tools as gearwrench etc. ...i don´t know if it makes sense to import the german version of gearwrench ?

It is original. Of course it is not for sale. In one side it has a small bump so probably it knocked from the machine and nobody saw it.
i want i want :D how much ? :D

Original of course :)
