A little "tools in action", using old new and bartmade tools.

Did a belts/pulleys/waterpump/heater control valve job on my Porsche 968. This was most of the tools I used. Hazet, Stahlwille, Armstrong, SnapOn, Craftsman

Was orange color option for Gedore tool trolley? I am used to blue color like this one I got:

Someone had painted red color here and there, but it comes out nicely.

Drawers are numbered 1 -2 -3... so you know order they should be inside trolley, (drawer number 2 is in picture) but what is "66" number?

Flex don´t give any info about COO but I´m sure now that they are made by Sparky. The other new Flex tools are made by Kress

Bosch Concrete Surfacer Grinder. Made in Germany.

Its factory reconditioned, but if it didn't have the sticker on it you'd swear it was new. It doesn't look like it was ever used.

It's my second reconditioned Bosch tool. I'll never buy a new Bosch tool ever again, the reconditioned ones are so nice.

I do that allot at cpotools. But it is sometimes hard to find newer model in recondition.

Here are pictures after careful wash with toothbrush and soapwater for case.
Tools themself where dipped to paint thinner and brushed with toothbrush.
Suff that came out was not oil, more like oil that had turned to dirt.

I found almost unused set 3/4" Bahco socket set, only one truck wheel bearing change it was used in early 1980's

I paid £51, so I think reasonable if not a bargain. I found 16 hex keys (Parker-Kalon, Allen, Unbrako and some unmarked), a made-in-England drill bit, a 2-Euro coin and an American quarter while cleaning it though so actual cost is I suppose very slightly less

These arrived yesterday. One 80mm, one 100mm. The 80 will be mounted to the tool cart, the 100 to my bench, but not before removing the horrible silver paint!

I think they're made in Cz? The smaller one was just 2 Euro plus shipping

Combine Hazet and Snap On? I just use whatever seems best for the job so sometimes it ends up that way.

The Hazet is less slick in use, I prefer the looks of its finish and it's more comfortable. SO is longer, so more leverage.


Nice Toyo boxes! I used to work at a Japanese company an they had Toyo and Tone tools around (also had Toyo large industrial grinders - maybe a totally different company?).

Hahaha no, but if I look at it this way, the 2 Euro coin I found in the cart paid for the vice that will live on the cart (sadly not the shipping though), so it's a bit like it' was meant to be. I agree the patina will complement the cart (or maybe I'm just too lazy to do something nice like mrtools) - I especially like that much of the original sticker is still there.

I gather these aren't the most professional quality vices, but I do like the looks, and it's a bit different from the usual Records etc found in the UK. I also wanted something with an anvil area on it.

i used a drill for drilling in stone (widia point, reshaped the point and then drill at high speed

No, I've got them from a Mexican eBay seller who has some KTC and Ko-ken at pretty good prices - even with postage. Took about a week to get here.

The biggest difference is the built in dust management and the motor being sealed from dust. The dust management works good until the filter on vacuum gets clogged. Even when using a dust deputy I have to stop about every 5 mins to shake out the filter in my Fein vacuum.

Anyhow done is done, and while I may never use it, I figure if I post it up here somebody may find it interesting, or perhaps even slightly funny, in which case it has served at least some purpose

Sam tools (http://www.sam-outillage.fr/home) makes very good tools and all are made in France! Good quality and not as expensive as Facom for example.

Yeah they are pretty good quality. Compare to us craftsman ball bearing one they seem to be nicer. And are on par or a bit nicer then the harbor freight 27' roller. Most likely from the same factory.

Now my basement workshop has a wall full on tool cart to store everything I have.

I'm using it to grind epoxy paint from my basement floor, grind off paint and loose parging from my basement walls so I can fix cracks, then going to grind paint and loose parging from my exterior foundation walls so they are clean for stucco.

I like that the bottom drawer has double rails, which is nicer the the craftsman and harbor freight ones. So you can loaded it up with heavier stuff. And the ball bearing rails are pretty smooth.
