My new to me oldie 1/2" Hazet ratchet. Was stuck because of debris, opened up - to my surprise just dried up but every tooth like new, cleaned it, lube'd it and is super smooth!


Can anyone help me date the ratchet? It's at least 20yrs old, but perhaps older?

Nothing better than having a tool perform as new after some cleaning and lubing. I don't know the age but that is a very cool ratchet.

Discontinued. I haven't been able to find them either. There are one or two on the forum here who have them though.

Yea I guess that it is Habero and not gedore-habero. Thats why I can't found it. You 're right, discontinued.

I'm going to post up some pictures of my stash as soon as the problems with new users not being able to post pictures are fixed.

For now though i have a question regarding toolboxes. Does anyone know of a company named "MODOK"?
I'm going to look at some used steel boxes, the old carry-able kind with a big compartment in the bottom, and either 2 or 4 compartments on top that fold out to allow access to the bottom compartment - they are exactly like the hazet 190 steel box. Some of the boxes are danish Bekas, which i'm definately taking home with me, and some are MODOK, should try to grab those aswell?

Tried that. I can't even post links to images.

Edit: By the way,the MODOK boxes are a light green color, slightly more light/pale than stahlwille cases.

I geuss image posting is working now, or maybe it was a post count thing. Anyway, here is a picture. MODOK boxes are the ones in the back of the picture.

Before, I had my eyes on a set of Gedore screwdrivers, but somebody here influenced me to have look at these.:bounce:

I work part-time at a second-hand store and every time some tools come in, I just have to look.

IMO one of the best ratchets, simple but last too long, I don't know how old can be this ratchet, maybe the only clue is w-Germany mark on this

I have a colleague at work who are Greek-Russian and not identifies the particular micrometer. This photo shows some letters and numbers, but only these. The "KL1" rather indicates the class (класс), or maybe not...

I have got a set of Promat wrenches and I used/abused them for the last 8 years.

They are not a bad quality and I always wondered from which Factory they came.:dunno:

Does anybody know?

Love that Gressel vise Angoo. Has it ever happened that you couldn't mount something the way you would like due to the rear jaw being the dynamic jaw?

It may be rougher finished than the rest of the plier, but is chrome plated. Doesn't look as rough as that, for sure. Don't have a good pic.

in the USSR was the rule. Goods for export had the inscription "Made in the USSR." And puts the stamp of the plant.
Look at the inscription on the circular portion, which revolves

This micrometer isn't "Goods for export". When the Greek-Russian left from USSR and relocated in Greece they brought many tools with them. This micrometer maybe is one of them. We have tons of wrenches, calipers micrometers and other measuring instruments.;)

Very nice setup! What brand are the tools hanging on the wall (looks like a pedal wrench with gray body and black grip)? I don't think I have seen it before.
