But no harm done as I can always look it up online.

Just got this new wrench from a bidding site!
This is really something i think, because Sandvik bought Bahco in 1991 and then they must have turned to Belzer to make good wrenches.
This collaboration must have been going on for a while but eventually Sandvik sold Bahco to Snap-On in 1999. I'm guessing that this key has been made between those years? Anyone else know more?

i´m not a big fan of the Proxxon or WGB/ISI ratchets.....
maybe i would get the ISI set and a better ratchet....
The ratchets seem to be german made, i dunno about the sockets....the newer WGB sockets seem to be imported, so will be the ISI sockets i guess ....???

"Bench cookies" anti slip work piece holders from Holzkraft
www.holzkraft-maschinen.de
....so i don´t have to clamp down the work piece anymore, it also prevents scratching the (painted) surface and the vibration of the tool doesn´t go from the workpiece into the workbench top so the work piece don´t "wander" around anymore.

I have the same thing in orange that I picked up in the USA. They are very useful actually.

hence the price.... a stick welder with about 150 to 160 amps is on my wishlist but there are so many offerings..... Kemppi, Migatronic, Esab, EWM, Lorch, Rehm, Merkle....

The kemppi is higher priced than others, new model cost even more (remote control option, digital panel) 650-700eur with tax is a lot of you dont need it much. The older model was cheaper and without digital panel it is better for me. The Esab is really good and cheaper, and there is also lot of non brand stick welders? Do you know Cebora welders?

Tjena Decaf,
Monte can probably tell you precise when the Belzer production was shut down. I have a few of the Sandvik-Belzer wrenches, and they are top-notch in my opinion.
You can download the original datasheet from here: http://www.datasheetarchive.com/indexer.php?file=Scans-00119968.pdf&dir=Scans-005&keywords=belzer+sandvik&database=user-highscore#

This is my standard bench-cookie....

 very nice german christmas-cake "Stollen" - for sale in my local Aldi-store every christmas, and can be eaten up to 4 months after - will do the the trick as non-slip underlay too, although it may require some cleaning after use .

Any opinions on a nice european dead blow hammer?
Gedore (Austria) ....Halder (switzerland) ....Wiha (Germany)....PB Swiss (Swiss)..... they all look about similar....
If the Thor hammers are boring....i dunno...maybe something from the US ?

thats about the price of the german welders here... a used one would be ok....so we´ll see.... i heard about cebora but they are rather seldom to see...i´d like to see the product before purchasing and maybe test weld it....i need other stuff before so it´s time to check out all the products.

What the f**k? :eyecrazy: :eyecrazy: :eyecrazy: They're insane!
I hope the quality is better than the regular Bahco ... or for that kind of money it better be f****n' perfect.

Now that's weird. I bought this set - http://www.bahco-werkzeuge.de/products/2625.html - a year and a half ago for 30 euros here in Bulgaria, but it's made in Taiwan and I'm not that impressed of the quality. It's not bad but what can you expect from a 30 euros ratcheting wrenches set :D

Maybe you should buy them anyway, just for the heritage collection, i´m afraid they are NOS, since i´ve read in swedish newspapers that SNA has moved most of the swedish production to other facilities. Handsaws are now made at the file plant in Portugal. Adjustable wrenches in Spain. Assembly of many tools are now made in Minsk, Russia. What´s left is only raw parts and special forestry tools made in the Edsbyn and Bollnäs facilities, now branded Edsbyn Industrial (since it´s not Bahco (or SNA) core-business. I´ve searched union- (every employee in Sweden is a unionworker, the union "facket" is very strong in sweden) and local papers for information about pliers, but none showed up.

Finally received my Felo free sample and catalogue. Thanks for the heads up .

Was having a browse through the catalogue and the smart driver has caught my eye.

Does anyone have anyfeed back on this handle? Does it fit the standard bits and extensions that are meant for impact drivers?

So if anybody remembers a while ago I got my new Stahlwille socket set but with no ratchet. I finally got the ratchet around the end of last week.

Here you can see just how much tighter a Stahlwille socket and ratchet fit than a Beta Utensili one. Sadly, the cell phone recording boosts the levels automatically, so it looses some impact, but it is astonishing how smooth the 60-tooth Stahlwille is. When actually using it you barely realize it's ratcheting.

Wow, the whole mechanism move back and forth on the Beta!

Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the video.

To be fair to the Beta, in your hands it's not that bad, the Stahlwille is just a lot better. Putting the ratchet so close to the camera makes the tolerances much more noticeable. If you take any ratchet and look closely you'll see the whole mechanism moves.

Well, that's true. I don't recall any of my better ratchets having as much play as that Beta, though.

I have one, and I like it. It holds any .25" bit of any length, but it does NOT come with any bit, just so you know. I'll snap some photos of it tomorrow for you.

New foam modules arrived yesterday for my 3/8" and 1/4" drawer. A step closer to organising everything, but a bit more work to do. Here's a pic of the drawer now, with most of the duplicates removed. The box at the top right is a rotator ratchet set:

Got my free Felo PZ2 today, straight from Germany. Kudos to Felo. I must say I like it a lot.

Might have to buy me some more. So much for the free lunch... :lol_hitti

Did you get these empty from Prime Tools? I can't find them on their site, then again I never seem to be able to find anything on there.
I see that they're available from UKtools.com but I'd rather not ever again experience the "customer service" from them bunch of wallies.

I did. I don't think they stock them, which is possibly why they're not specifically listed on the site.

I've browsed the Facom catalogues, got the part numbers for the foam that I'm after, and emailed for a quote. It usually takes a couple days for them to get back to me as I think they're waiting in turn on a response from Facom in France. Likewise, once the order is placed it takes maybe a week or so for them to turn up at my door.

I've not heard good things about UKTools either - I think they list everything whether or not they can actually provide it.

Just a caveat with the Facom foam though -the modules (more than one) may not fit well in standard or smaller sized drawers. Official dimensions are (I believe): 417mm x 188mm x 45mm

There are file forms that you did not know to exist, and that is why their old catalog would be amazing to see. there are 24 different models here in table, and with each one got multiple grade and size. there must be thousands and thousands different kind of files made pre 1965.

Your second photo took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at. When I first saw it all I could see was the wood with the files in the background. I had to look away and come back to see the files first. Ha.

I kinda went back and forth about ordering a Felo sample because I'm happy with my Wera collection, and knew I didn't want to swap over. Last sunday I caved, because a free screwdriver is still a free screwdriver. I promised myself to give it a fair shot, because technically I'm getting a handout.

I never received an email, but while doing homework this showed up:

dsc0352ck.jpg

THAT was fast, straight from Deutschland. Included were two catalogs, and one if them is seriously heavy. This cost them some money to ship, considering the weight.
I feel bad now for taking a free screwdriver, so I am now obligated to order something from them. I'll let you guys know what it is.

Interesting video. The Stahlwille really looks smooth and solid.

I got this today:

Haven't tried it yet, but felt it a bit and it was much softer than all drivers I have used. I also feel a bit that they should have skipped the hole. The softness of the grip is a bit ruined by the hardness of the plastic around the hole. We'll see if I like it more in use.
