No, it was Bahco, but those Beta look nice too.

But where is that made? I bought several sizes of these from Amazon and realized upon receiving them they are made in china! WTF! Especially for the price they were, I'm sending them back.

bahco_pliers3.jpg

 Yep, that simply *****....Bahco is leaving Sweden at the speed of light, and I don´t think they´re coming back...pliers made in china are new to me, here in Denmark they are made in Argentina.
Maybe we should print "Ban Bahco" stickers? I´ve searched the net about Bahco, and it´s sad reading.

Maybe you should buy them anyway, just for the heritage collection, i´m afraid they are NOS, since i´ve read in swedish newspapers that SNA has moved most of the swedish production to other facilities. Handsaws are now made at the file plant in Portugal. Adjustable wrenches in Spain. Assembly of many tools are now made in Minsk, Russia. What´s left is only raw parts and special forestry tools made in the Edsbyn and Bollnäs facilities, now branded Edsbyn Industrial (since it´s not Bahco (or SNA) core-business. I´ve searched union- (every employee in Sweden is a unionworker, the union "facket" is very strong in sweden) and local papers for information about pliers, but none showed up.

After I wrote the text above, i saw Montes video from the Minsk factory (saw blades). This is a new factory with a complete UHP two component sawblade line, so I´m afraid that saws "made in Sweden" is soon something from the past. Why not? Wages are max. a third in Minsk, and the productionline is up-to-date. And it seems like SNA hasn´t got any sentimental feelings to Bahco. Hell, why should they? They´re just a minor gay-european brand from a land of snuff-eating hillbillys

new hazet 854 1/4" socket set from jens putzier, im pretty stoked with it so far:

and a photo of the hazet ratchet with the snap on "dual 80"(isn't really dual 80 at all) t72 that i bought to replace a crescent ratchet on my last 1/4" socket set. Its funny all the threads about more ratchet teeth being better, but the 20 tooth hazet ratchet does everything the 72 tooth snap on does, just with less clicks. I can see how more teeth is an advantage in very tight spots, but both feel as smooth as each other.

Here is my HAZET 1/2 "set, purchased today.
T bar is GEDORE, does anyone know whether you can buy Hazetov older production?
I want to complete the set, which is its value at which it can be sold to collectors?

Really nice set aag14V. Great find.

Since it's not all original it is probably not worth more than €10 but I'll give you €12 for it. Just to be nice. ;)

Monte, you realized that the jacket you liked is made in mexico. It is not the USA line. I have it in dark brown. That is the going price at allot of the big chain like gander mountain, where I picked up mine for 40 dollars on sale.

The website states "Made in USA" and "Carhartt stlye #J140". The #J140 jacket is listed as "Made in USA"

i already wanted to type "Argentina"....but China....ok....

Picked these up a few weeks ago.

i´ve seen newer Bahco packages in light grey/orange without COO...so they already prepare to outsource everything.....

Shoturtle, i have some Carhartt stuff - of which NONE are made in USA...can you tell me what they do make there? US line? Not on sale here in scandinavia..

Picked these up a few weeks ago.

Very nice tools, Rockuf8!

hello

just buy this today :

You shouldn´t be sorry for the COO, it´s very good - feels like true Bosch quality. Bought one in my local ALDI at bargain price. Lightweight yet very strong.

I've done it!:willy_nil

 I still have some dead zones...read from page 1 to about 80...phewww...then from 81 to 135...but then you have to work, make dinner, go shopping and walk the dog. But i have never found so much information about good tools anywhere - it´s truly amazing.
By the way, are the french hammer style inspired by their funny police caps?

Thanks, yes, they are embossed on the back Made in Germany, but it didn't come out in the photo so I didn't bother posting it.

Well, thanks to this site/thread I was turned onto higher quality tools. Now I've been feverishly search, buying and collecting good grade made in USA or euro tools for my new garage and new Viper toolboxes once it's all set up, only black, grey, white and orange tools.

Not sure I'll ever use them they look too nice ha, but I'm sure I'll use them on some electrical work when it arises.

Am I being too particular though? I noticed the middle screwdriver has the name half rubbed off, and the color of the handle is a shade darker than the others, ebay seller said he would send me a replacement but I would have to send that one back to him and pay for shipping of the returned item.

Also, on the pliers, there are very light minor knicks here and there and visible glue on the grips that can be seen in the closeup.

The Facom hammer is good looking for sure.

The small impactor works well, and gets into pretty tight places. I like it allot, while not made in Switzerland, Germany or the US. It really is a quality unit.

But for 12v your only other options really is china.

Whoa! Awesome old 907Z set!!!:bowdown::bowdown:

I'm so jealous!
I think it's from the late 70's or early 80's isn't it?
The older pre-1965 stuff with the small "a" logo gets sky high prices. I think this set isn't old enough to have high collector value.

I think that your missing 915 sliding T bar would be more or less the same as present production, so you could just get a new one. The one I got a few years ago was still stamped "W.Germany" which would be correct for this set.
Maybe you could find some old stock from an old Hazet dealer somewhere...:dunno: Shouldn't be hard.
What goes in that depression in the tray? I'm trying to read the sticker on your picture but it's too small. Is everything else listed on the label sticker in the set? It seems there's one other item. Maybe a 958-2 adaptor???

I apologize for the bad photo quality - my camera is elsewhere, but I got my Beta torque wrenches back from being tested (by a competitor). They are several years old and for most of that time were set to the lowest they could be (i.e. beyond the end of the scale, i.e. bad). There's no slip, since he wasn't really supposed to test a competitor, but I was told they're "dead on." The bigger one is obviously a Norbar, but anybody know who makes the smaller one (606 style) for Beta?

Are they not both Norbar? Norbar makes the torque wrenches for Halfords in the UK -they look virtually identical apart from the head, and have a reputation for being very accurate:

Ah, I guess they're both norbar then. I do remember the sheet that came with it had it around 1%, and the truck guy called it "dead on" after all these years so it's pretty impressive.

PB Swiss hex bits 4, 5, 6, 8, 10mm

PB Swiss chisel

Koken 1/4" bit holder 1/2" drive

I'm really impressed with this bit holder, I've only ever had cheap ones before. There is no movement at all from the bit, yet its never so tight that its impossible to pull the bit out, unlike my Bahco bit holder.

I will definately be trying more Koken tools in the future.

Yeah, I posted this over in 'new arrivals' but it belongs here too, heh. Facom 11 in 1 ratcheting wrench.

facom.jpg

Totally an impulse buy but has a really good feel and has proven very useful. I find myself looking for excuses to use it.

Hi!

In the 67's catalog it´s shown the first time:

Mac Intosh,
Please please pleeeeeease put up some scans of some old Hazet catalogs.:bowdown::bowdown:

At least one each from the 60's 70's 80's and 90's.:bounce:
Seriously, there is just one old hazet catalog out there on the internet; a 1963 catalog from a VW enthusiast site in Argentina called www.mundoescarabojo.com.ar
we need more. There is nothing else out there: believe me, I've looked!
It's not secret information. In the day, they gave these catalogs away in the thousands.
Will you help out a needy world?

Look at this Snap-On collector's site. It has scans of catalogs from 1923 to 1990. http://www.collectingsnapon.com/catalogs/catalogs.php
I'd kill for
a Hazet resource like that!!! Is there anybody out there who can help?

Thanks a lot!
Is there a difference in the Article 916 in that set, and the one that produced today?

That 67 catalog photo doesn't show the speed wrench and you have a plastic handled ratchet so I wonder what year your set is.

My mid 70's catalogs list only the 907ZN sets which have a different layout to the plastic blow moulded inset. It would seem your set is between 67 and 75.

Is there any way you could make scans of that 1975 catalog available? :bounce:

I have posted some digital photos of a few select pages and that was time consuming enough. My scanner is about 10 years old (is that antique?).

Is there an easier way?

OPPS!!! I screwed up pretty bad when I posted earlier from work. My catalogs are 1985 and 1987 NOT 1975 like I said. Sorry for the error guys!:dunno:

One interesting thing though is the printing methods changed between the 2 years with the colour in the earlier catalog being kind of raised up like from a ink jet or some type of process that the ink builds up off the paper while the newer 1987 catalog is typical 4 colour offset printing where the colour sits in the paper not up on top.

There must be...but you're asking the wrong guy. I'm not much of a digital age type person. More like industrial revolution :lol_hitti

Maybe you could just scan the important sections like the wrenches and sockets? I would be eternally grateful

1985 and 87 are even better for me. That's a time period I am particularly interested in!
