Ah thanks, I must have the NWS version then. Having only 2 NWS pliers and a bunch of Knipex, I must say that Knipex pliers are smooth brand new, while NWS will require some breaking in. Knipex also tends to clean up the finish on the inside gap a bit better than NWS. Either one are nice though.

it seems its a heavy duty high quality 2 speed impact drill up to 16mm in steel from the older days...when Bosch tools were blue and the switches orange....these tools are usually very good !
in case of Bosch it´s the best to order directly from Bosch online or from a local Bosch dealer

What you prefer between gedore 1/2 ratchets: U10 or U20 ?

difficult question
both are nice.....fine tooth vs. coarse tooth....
the u-20 has a smaller head i think and fine tooth ..... so maybe the U-20 ?

I just bought these two knipex pliers for the collection.
The bent needle nose pliers has a big gap, with some pressure it is less of a gap, but it never closes completely.
As the price was low (€15 a piece) it's not a big issue, but I am a bit disappointed in the quality.
Is this normal for this model?

The Hazet is gorgeous, but I might reach for the used one if in anger to just "get it done." Doubt many here would agree, but that's OK.

anger or not, if it fits the job i'll take the underdog too, even if i do have an older Hazet one somewhere.

got an answer from Gedore France for the same kind of warranty issue and they said that the old Dowidat and Rahsol tools are under the same Gedore lifetime warranty. there is a caveat though, that's only an over the phone answer although they did exchange the broken Dowidat ratchet for a brand new Gedore one.

ok, guys, i've ordered some nice Japan-made stuff from Levelchrome and, again, some postal deities along the way were against me...
out of the three Top ratchets only two made it safely to France, a Merry screw plier along with a couple Vessel screwdrivers did not make it too. not really the fault of Levelchrome since the package looked like it was handled by the UPS goons instead of the fine folks of USPS. here's what i got:

now i'll need another shorter +2 and, of course, the missing stuff(+0 & +1)...

while looking around, i've seen that it was impossible to order tools from amazon.co.jp:

like they said: "a slight problem with my order": none of the articles i want are shippable out of Japan!

if anybody(yes, i'm thinking of you mr. superautobacs!) has good info on reliable sellers in Japan others than the usual suspects(Frankstools & Levelchrome), the kind of sellers that do not overcharge like crazies on shipping(or from whom i cannot fathom how to order my way out of a wet paperbag-site like Factory Gear's one)!

so, time had come come to update the plumbing kit and hunt for the right tools at right prices. ordered one Ridgid One-Stop wrench from amazon.com along with heavily discounted czech-made Wera hex and some much needed PB Swiss small Torx screwdrivers.

the picture on the site shows a nicely made and stamped "made in Germany" One Stop wrench:

now guess what i got when i opened the package...

a made in China one! poor finish, chrome-marring sharp edges, almost non-existent knurling, inadequate and uneven broaching and already rusted inside...

"congratz guyz!" you've just transformed a nicely made and well thought-out product in yet another crappy tool suitable for sale at CrapMart instead of improving it by offering a stainless steel version.
i almost regret having bought the wonderful US-made 18 in. aluminium RapidGrip, almost but not quite since it only cost me a bit under 28,00€ shipped; that and 'cause i'll need it in a few month for the complete overhaul of the irrigation system(and probably more than that).

My Ridgid One-Stop-Wrench was purchsed two or three years ago from Home Depot was made in Slovenia. I'm not sure how old the stock was. I wondered whether Unior might manufactured it.
