That's a nice price.

if he gets others, i'll offer them here if people are interested in japanese-made "Stanley" tools at a fairer price... ;)

Hrmm. I'm confused. USA is clearly stamped on this one.:tard:
maybe it's just the patent that is indicated by that "USA" stamping?
or they're made in the infamous city of Usa! :D

Sounds like a nice little project.
still trying to find a suitable neodymium magnet locally... still no luck. :dunno:

I know the spec isn't the same, and they're not visually identical, but the simlarity is fairly striking (at least to my eye).

Anyhow the Lidl version is on for £30:

Anyone in the UK that likes to pick the cordless drill up for me? PM me please!!

For what it's worth; I went and had a look - they're probably OK for the price, but wasn't nice enough for me to bother taking one home.

So was it just bad materials, bad manufacturing process or both that made India's output to look like this?

It is difficult to answer your question. Appearance at the wrenches bad. But strong. In the USSR, they were valued

I have a couple of pairs. I think they are brilliant - quality is top notch and they are very strong. Couldn't be happier with them.

I think they are made in Austria.

Haven't got any Knipex to compare them to.

Nice looking tube spanner and welcome to the forum!

Is it pressed or forged, it's difficult to tell from the photo?

here´s a video of how they are made:

What's that tool on the right?

'dismantling tool' ; cat5/6... cable insulation stripper; very easy . Cable goes in longitudinally, slight twist just to score the outer insulation, easy pull (finger tab) to remove

Also has wire strippers on side

A dismantling tool. But I'm not sure those terminal crimpers are "Made in Germany" ...

Hmmm. The Crimping Pliers for Western plugs are not stamped with made in germany, the box is marked 'Knipex Quality'.

My others are: Preciforce Crimping pliers 'Made in Germany', and Self-Adjusting Insulation Strippers 'Germany'

Only the packing of the Dismantling Tool for data cables is labelled 'made in germany.
My collection of Knipex cir clip pliers are all stamped 'Made in Germany'

I note the implication of being stamped 'Knipex Germany' and Made in Germany' too. The difference has to suggest they are trying to fudge it.

So one has to assume that by omission of either 'Knipex Germany' or Made in Germany', the 97 51 10 is NOT made in Germany.

So Knipex I can no longer trust. Sad.

Pics from Knipex site ( camera batteries flat)
