Had a few hours spare today so got busy. This has been sitting around for a while, taunting me.

Naked Leinen (extra special thanks to Van Steele for the TSP advice - worked brilliantly):

I also dropped most of the two remaining grinders into the solution (after testing with a pice of scrap Al) for 20 mins or so, and the TSP lifted most of the paint from them as well.

I ended up just using a plastic tub and filling it with boiled water - worked well and the solution was still hot a couple hrs later.

Thanks! I've just now pulled the tape off and it looks even better. I'll give it a few days to cure and then assemble and take another pic.

TSP=Trisodium Phosphate.

To cure paint one can place freshly pained "dry" item an a 175F oven for 20-30 minutes. Smells a little so you might wait until the wife is out.

Just bought this from a flea market. A Kriegsmarine Gedore

On the other side of it it is written : Standard Material

Later I will upload some pictures with some really old Gedores (before 1960) one made for Auto Union and one with the really old Gedore handwritten logo.

sadly, almost nothing 'cause of them being non-metric since not much(maybe even less than one! :D) anglo-american car kits came with Hazet tools in the first place, so no car tool kit collectors for those... :(
but, -there's always a "but"- there are also collectors of Hazet tools in the metric forgotten lands so it might be worth a bit more than almost nothing!

nice made in Greece pin punches!
do they exist in roll-pin punches too? :)

...but since Germany don´t spend much money for military anymore... or spend money for things which don´t work like our drones you don´t have to worry much ;) since our new tanks look like this anyway ;)

too bad since i really like the looks of your new army and would gladly let'em invade us: *clicky!* :D
(you can see why your panzers now look like the *smart* one you linked, eh! :lol_hitti)

yes the Wiha drill screwdriver uses 7mm yankee bits (with a "notch" and "step")

http://www.fine-tools.com/yankeescrewdriverbit.html

They do produce modern versions which take 1/4" bits ....
there is also a adaptor available:
http://www.fine-tools.com/schr2.htm
on the list! thnaks!

...not all manufacturers were listed iirc there are even more choices like www.bibielle.com
oh noes! more choices! :shocking:

AWESOME !!!
that's what i thought when i saw it, looks way better than my Shaviv set.

hey! stop doing that! i'm already in deep cow manure for having bought the 808s and some other, hmmm, "stuff" from amazon.com... :lol_hitti

Cheers Monte. Now if you can find me a cheap used swivel base in Germany before I have to drill horzintal holes in my worktop, I will be one truly happy chappy

Spectacular work on the Vise.

I am liking the USSR tool.

Beta collection looks great.
I am unfamiliar with Beta. Where are their tools made ?

Thanks!

Most of their tools are made in Italy.
Except their screwdrivers, they make very good tools.
Thanks!
Lovely collection. I'm feeling a bit envious here. Be sure to report back on how they perform after a bit of use.

Thanks! I will! I am also very curious. I also have some tools from Gedore. The Beta ones look a lot better, but I want to see how they stand when it comes to toughness.

Bogdan,

Nice tools, especially the pullers. Do you know where the pullers are made?
Thanks! I believe they are made in Italy, but I am not yet sure. I will ask the dealer.
