What are your recommendations for hydraulic jacks made in the old world? I am after a 1.5/2 tonne one, low entry would be useful but not imperative. The only things I can get locally are all Clarke/Sealey made in China jobbies.
I've seen AC Hydraulic, but can't seem to find a decent supplier in the UK.
Any other recommendations are received gratefully

They supply a large range of gorgeous FACOM trolley jacks... They're a bit spendy
and I'll be honest, I'm not sure where they're made, but they just might fit your bill
if you want something a cut above Sealey and Clarke stuff.

Have a look at the Irimo jacks, www.ffx.co.uk seem to have decent prices on them.

some pro brands are Zarges from Germany http://www.zarges.com/en/ or Wibe Ladders from Sweden http://www.wibeladders.com/.
Both brands are in the expensive range, but top quality.

Krause now makes - or better said assembles - most of their ladders in Poland, with special order production in Germany. Zarges has moved production out of Germany many years ago. Tubesca, who is now in a joint-venture with Zarges, still has their production in France as does Centaure. Hailo makes part of theirs in France and Germany and some of them in both countries. Elkop and Elko have plants in the Czech Republic, and as Roverbo said Wibe Stegar make theirs in Sweden. Youingman and Abru are from the UK.
Remember that none of these brands actually make the stiles nor the steps, they are bought from only a couple of suppliers in either HF-welded tube or extruded aluminium in either a generic or bespoke design.

I just got back from a Euro trip. My buddy gave me a Hazet utility knife as a gift and I bought a HaWe rotband hammer. Pics later, but both nice.
