Hello I think it is good quality, because all steel for producing is from SIJ (Slovenian steel industry - http://www.sij.si/en ), which has excellent quality steel, and Unior has quality production process

Wow! what is the brand of the taps?

I picked this pipe wrench up at a local yard sale last fall for $5 or $10. Its a Kongsberg No 93, made in Norway. I like it a lot - it is solidly made and very long, to allow better leverage on sticky bolts.

i don´t know...you can find many wrenches with the "Super Steel" inscription on the flea market... since they are older maybe it just means that they are made from chrome vanadium and not regular tool steel ?

Get the fingers on a real 2 layer foam sheet so I made a 3/8 socket set for my tooldrawer! I have do this before, but i wasnt completly happy with the foam because it was to soft to carry around. This one is perfect! Snapon ratchets,stahlwille sockets,koken wobbleplus extensions etc!

As an amatur DIYer, my toolbox may not be as extensive as a proffesional, but I do have some nice tools.

I will probably upload some more photos in the future.

For a start, I would like to bring a mystery:




This is Hazet 610N 12x13, which looks normal in any way, except that it is golden!
I found it in a hardware store, NOS. The manager could only tell me that it is a was some kind of limited addition a few years ago. There is no mentioning on it if it is gold plated or something else (like TiN). The surface has the same matt finish as the regular chrome version, so I guess under the plating it is the regular chrome.
Searching the net, I chould not find any reference to it. The only golden 610N I could find was a keychain miniature.

Can anyone help me with more detail about this wrench?

This drill was a present to my dad from my mom, when he was around 24-25 years - he is now 76, so it should be from 1962-63. Still runs smooth.
He made his own drill stand some year after.

there are lots of tools that are US/Canada specific, especially forestry/fire tools like the one you're looking for or like the Pulaski axe and the McLeods hoe/rake...

Thanks Monte & cosmik. Sappies are useful but they're only designed for moving logs on the ground, you need the spike in line with the handle to push logs which are lodged in the air. Thanks for your suggestions though.

I have a friend who's a blacksmith so I will get her to make me one, I'll post the results!

Yes, they don't get stuck under torque, like some others tend to do. So, they function really well and they look great as well.

Definately not. It is a normal, fully functional Hazet 610N. Just golden.
I did see this: HAZET Club Gold 610N Box Wrench Tie Clip, but is not the same thing.

Also power tools (not all though, mostly small brands), air tools (import + industrial like ATA + Suhner), shop equipment like storage, pressure washers, compressors, ladders etc.
The "Automechanika" might be interesting for car tools + equipment.

I have a request:

I'm looking for a pike pole (also know as pick pole or spike pole) that's made in Europe, for some forestry work I am doing. I can only find manufacturers in the USA, with no one stocking them in Europe. Surely there is a forestry manufacturer in Europe who makes one? Even if I can just get the head, I can make the handle easily...

For reference, this is a pike pole. Designed for pushing logs around, particularly if they get lodged in the air against another tree.

You should be able to have a blacksmith make one fairly easily and cheaply.

In Canada we use them for sorting logs when building log booms on the water to tow to the mill. They are also used at the mill site for sorting and feeding logs out of the water and up onto the green chain as the logs enter the mill.

I've never heard of using one to push a tree that's tangled into a standing tree but there have been times I would have liked to have had one. It just didn't make sense to pack one of those around all day. I have cut down a sapling to make a 20' pointed pole and used that to push trees over but that was rare. We'd usually fall the tree it was leaned into or knock it down with another tree.
