yes, indeed that are very good prices !!! The step drill bit cost 72.- now at Amazon .... I was not aware that Amazon.de ships overseas !?!?

Apparently they do :)

Like other Amazon iterations, it depends on who is the actual seller.
I tried to get a Ruko ratchet tap wrench but that item would not ship to Oz

To correct the prices; and recognising that no VAT applicable

Counterbore set 42.22 ear

Step drill set 61.06 eur

shipping 18 eur

The FSZ 120 screw clamps work ok, but certainly do not seem like German made.

The MFT-SP clamp set (slide and cam lock) are really good; feel like 2 people could lift the table off the group with something clamped in them.

The FS-Rapid clamp seems like a dud, it does not fit in all the the guide rail channels, and tried on 3 different guide rails, 2 channels per rail, only fits in one out of 6, ; scratching my head on this one. Hard to imagine variation in the guide rail guide slot/channel dimensions, more likely the clamp plastic is over tolerance.

even with VAT they are still really cheap compared to everywhere else (even in GBP and EUR) , especially the counterbores ( c. $190 AUD here)

Yes the Bessey is the same. I checked most of my 47 sources for Besey and not one list the FSZ120; only the link you provided from Crebes.

today I found a Western Electric drill Sharpener on Gumtree AU this morning, picked it up this afternoon. The main motor has obviously been replaced at some point. The smaller motor, which is missing a drive belt to the drill spindle, may be for valve grinding.

It runs smoothly.

Made in USA, the plate on the small motor reads Sept. 18. 1917
No. 2S 156869A

The last shot is an old 6 foot crowbar. I had found this on Gumtree earlier in the week, and arranged to pick it up today , $20. Turned out the Drill Sharpener was from the same seller. He threw in the crowbar for free; good bloke.

The same seller had a few other bits and pieces, amongst which was this nice 3" Waldown vice; $20.

Nice! I use to sharpen my drills by hand and i'm curious about the sharpening result of these machines. Could you sharpen a drill for me and take a close pic of drill nose?

Monte, I'd like to see some pics of all your tools together:rocker:
me too :D
i think that will be impossible eheh
i´d have to rent a larger space :)
As it is sold under the Gedore Magic promotion at my dealer, it is only 9.99€.
:eyecrazy: 10 bucks :eyecrazy: you ****

It seems only Crebes offers the Bessey version (in 120, 160 and 300mm).
It seems Crebes has good connections to Bessey since they also sell different rebadged Bessey products (remaining stock ?) and the Bessey FSZ which is not listed on the Bessey site, so maybe they were only sold as Bosch or Mafell (?)

As I'm upgrading my handtools (mainly Kraftwerk) to Hazet, I bought the Hazet 802/5 HEXAnamic screwdriver set (I'll add the short stubbys of the TRInamic set later. Also supplied in the set of 10: http://www.conrad.com/ce/en/product/801386/Hazet-80210-Screwdriver-Set):

Quick comparison (PH2) of the 5 sets I own at the moment (left to right):

I started as a kid with the VDE set from Lux (red hard handles).
The SKG green hard translucent handled screwdrivers is a old set.
The Kraftwerk set has the modern 3-component grip.
The Hazet HEXAnamic set is comparable with the Kraftwerk, but larger handles that are much more nicely in your hands! I prefer this one the best until now.
The Wera Kraftform (Torx-set) is also ergonomic with multi-component handles, but doesn't feel as natural as the Hazet.

I'm not a heavy duty user so about quality I cannot say much. Kraftwerk was fine, but Hazet will probably be better ;)
Another set I'd like to try is Felo Ergonic, but actually I don't need another set :lol_hitti

Can anyone say a few words about this vintage Fein Angle drill?
vintage+fein+angle+drill.jpg

Found it online for about 40 Euros. It's safe to assume it does not have variable speed :)

I picked up some Stahlwille spanners off an auction this week. These are for my portable toolbox. For my garage I keep my Gedore set.

I see some are marked "Motor", and some "Stabil". Not sure if there is a difference in the manufacturing / forging process. All I can see for now is that Motor is for open end spanners, and Stabil for box end spanners.

One of the above 11/10 open-ended spanners I've had for a number of years already. I have used various brands of open-ended spanners when working on brake lines and the box end starts to open up within just a few months of use, with the result that it strips the nut. The Stahlwille open-ended spanner has proven faultless over the past 4 to 5 years - good quality stuff.

My bad. I thought the older Kennedy stuff was UK made.

No idea, sorry.

Cromwell seem to have so many own brands that it's a bit silly:

Kobe (power tools) - see http://www.kobe-tools.com/

Osaki (power tools) as well.

Got to have German and Japanese names to make them sound good!

Senator (tools) seem to be theirs (note the connection to Kennedy) as do Yamoto (tools) as well (another Japanese name).

Now for the UK:

Sherwood (cutting tools) - see http://www.sherwood-tools.co.uk/

York (abrasives) - see http://www.machinery.co.uk/machinery-suppliers/york-abrasives/80003184/

Also Matlock (industrial products), Avon (packing, storage), Rutland (contractors tools) and Solent (lubricants, cleaning, hygiene)

They also sell Oxford Precision (precision tools) and although there is a company called Oxford Precision Components (in Oxford) I think they are unrelated so that's another one.

These are all UK place or river names!

Finally, I found this on another website:

Swiss Tech is one of Cromwell Tools ''premium brands'' and I believe they send out RFQ's for cutters and take the cheapest

There's probably more if I could be bothered to do the legwork.

I take a dim view of this overall approach - it's rather misleading.

they use the different names for different tools. The steel etc. is the same

I saw plenty of Senator stuff with the Kennedy, but that really looked cheap. Their local catalogue also lists the Kobe, Sherwood and Oxford range of stuff, but saw none of that in the shop.

Cosmik, the Festool frenzy continues.

Festool router and some accessories acquired Friday; have a cedar shiplap wall to do this week.

CMT bits made in Italy.

Thanks.

I am going to buy them as they have a slimmer head as the
NWS ErgoCombi (also called Peacemaker).

.
The NWS works like a charm but the head is quite big.

They sure do. Maybe I will be back at my dealer very soon :).

The jaw design looks a bit like my Knipex pliers, although the Knipex needle nose doesn't have the round gripping hole.

k 1.jpg

k 2.jpg

I highly doubt they're manufactured by Knipex. Some of the German Proto VDE pliers use designs that Knipex doesn't seem to use, or at least list in their catalog. Also, the Knipex pliers sold before by Williams and Mac were sort of obviously Knipex. The boxes the pliers came in were usually just Knipex boxes, and the pliers sometimes even said Knipex on them.

I've used those Proto pliers though, and they were good pliers. The cutting edges all lined up for clean cuts etc. I didn't use them for long enough to determine long term durability.
