you could try: http://www.maxiloc.com.au/ for AMF or http://www.industrialtooling.co.nz/ who sells Brauer toggle clamps from the UK.

If you want self-adjusting clamps you probably have to stick with the unnamed brand or Bessey.....

Had found Maxiloc already. At least they use AMF part numbers. But, one has to 'enquire' by email for prices.

Thanks for the IndustrialTooling link. They show prices, but use their own part number, and no apparent dimensions or other data to work out which clamp is whack AMF item.

Brauer is now added to my db!

Buying from OZ or NZ is almost invariably 2-3x what one can buy it for in Europe and ship, landed. So only in desperation/I need it now does one buy local. Freight out of Germany is usually reasonable, England is ok, USA is usually laughable (not always though).

Those are nice, love the knurling on hazet sockets!

x2 really like the looks of them. Need to upgrade and replace a lot of my sockets pretty bad but cant decide on brand. The Hazets are very nice though, I like how a lot of the Euro sockets have useful knurling.

Found a tool from the Old World at my local tool store:
Winbag wedge COO=Denmark

Is that better than Fluid Film ?
i thought fluid film is only for protection against corrosion ?

Thanks Monte, just ordered the Weicon Multi S 4-28.
You are worse than a crack dealer (but it's a compliment) !

:beer::beer::beer:
you´re welcome :)

Congrats to Germany and all the Fans of Germany !

Do they put out special tool sets when Germany wins the World Cup ?

 :+1: I was thinking along the same lines, only I was wondering which screwdriver company will come out with a World Cup theme handle/packaging.

Congrats Germany! It's time to

Now corrected, thanks. But now 575 with the addition of Brauer :)

Thanks too for the list of additional sources. I record all such in the database . I generally these days don't bother to look at ebay ( invariably they are too expensive, or don't ship to Australia). I do check some US sources, but usually only if I cat locate an EU source, or just to reaffirm the pricing window, prices can be an issue, and again American shipping cost are typically ludicrous by comparison to out of EU.

I have added Bauprofis, BHB, Handwerker and Online Werkzeughandle to my list of German suppliers (now 66 DE sources, and 442 tool sources), cross referenced against AMF of course. Thanks. None of which ship to Oz, including the Ebay De reference.

The attached image is a grab from my database showing some source prices, the and converted costs in AUD (no freight factored in). SO for a 93021, the cost ranges from approx. $21.42 to 48.80 AUD. Australian prices I would expect to be even higher than that.

@dutch79

Thx

@node105

Impressive list!

Which tools from DUSS do you own ?

none yet :) the list is just brands that are/were of interest, and a reference source for stuff I was interested in purchasing. I have amended the original post for clarification.

I didn't come across any Duss when I was in Germany earlier this year. Will be more diligent next trip.

In the list there are a lot more 'missing', like Habero.

Bought some drill and bits parts that I needed:
-Alpen drill concrete 3mm (Made in Austria)
-Wiha Drywall stop PH2 (Made in..?)
-Witte 1/4" hex to 1/4" socket adapter (Made in Germany)
-Witte magnetic bit extension 200mm (Made in Germany, but nothing printed on the part itself. Not even the brand..?)

latest addition to the file box, a Stihl forest road find file handle(made by Pferd) with a NOS Attila file(another dead french file maker IIRC) that i found in an old box:

Snabbing can be tranlated as "the quick one". "Skalverktyg" can be translated into "peel tool", like you peel an orange, so it is for removing the plastic on (heavy) cables. Another swedish company makes a tool somewhat the same, the Abiko "Tor" skalverktyg: link. Yep, I know it is a danish webadress, but the company has branches in Kramfors, Sweden (HQ), Denmark and China :shocking:. Most of the tools are made in Sweden, though ;).
Could you take a photo with the "Snabbing" in action?

here it is at last!

step one, insert tool over wire and snuggle-up the blade with the screw

2014-07-14-3053.jpg

rotate firmly tool over wire

2014-07-14-3055.jpg

and pull tool to strip bit of plastic!

2014-07-14-3056.jpg

it needs a little fiddling to get proper feeling for the depth of cut but once you get the hang of it, it works like a charm(but only on hard cables! :shocking:).

Bosch owns Rotozip... so maybe the outside looks different...maybe the inside not so much :)

will try to find more info and maybe get a hand on that stuff. :)

:D no comment  ;)
my non-peasantness is now reinforced!

wanted the GST-135BCE but seller had a brain fart and sold it Friday so i was left with an incomplete GST-135CE(needs a few plasticky accessories only, saw's working well ). he had a GST-150-BCE too: feels like a piece of **** with Parkinson's disease when cutting. in the end, i'm pretty satisfied for having waited to upgrade the Kress jigsaw, it was worth all of the 70.00€ paid for it. including a few Bosch blades of course. :D

4x new T234X:

should have asked for more blades though... :wtf:

A Hitachi dealer on the left and a Bosch dealer on the right :)
i actually have a fine whitish expensive powdery stuff "dealer" on the left and a Hilti user on the right, just have to get rid of the guy on the left, wishing that the cops won't burst the wrong door one morning... :spit:

nice, found those at the flea market different days and stands, bit rusty the were but are fine now cleaned:

Who can tell me more about this Stahlwille promotion 2014?
Prices seem pretty good, before adding vat+post =)

Disappointing to hear about the bessey. I watched a few videos on youtube about those self adjusting ones. Glad to hear some alternatives have surfaced.

Hi Nowlan. We don't pay VAT for shipping to Oz, so deduct 19%.

Pretty cheap stuff. Probably made in... :)

<<WGB stands for quality, tradition and development.

As one of the oldest manufacturers of hand tools in Germany WGB can look back on a 100 year old forging and tool tradition.>>

I did not want to record 'rebadged' or imports (Japan sneaked it's way in due a lot of good quality stuff) , the intent is real manufacturers of real tools.

Note: also added Habero?

Have now.

Certainly is. Some mounting plates for toggle clamps arrived a couple of days ago from Precision Dogs - 'Precision Clamp Mounts' , very nicely made. They fit Bessey and a certain other brand of clamps. Well they kind of do, no fault of the Precision Dogs Clamp Mounts (CNC'd) but the Bessey mounting flange holes ( c.f. the slotted holes) which are 1/4", are out of line the centre distances between 6 clamps is anywhere within about 2 mm ( I'm interstate at the mo, so can't re-measure), so currently one needs to be a bit selective about which fits. Why I hate made in china, installment 2742.

It will be an interesting comparison against the De-Sta-Co

The Precision Dogs can swivel (handy) and are held in place by the standard Festool knobs (of which there are usually a gaggle lying spare), and really quick to fit.

The large plate is for mounting an Incra LS Positioner (which is in transit)
