I'm going through this thread page by page and drooling.

But I have a BIG question, How do you fellow US guys get stuff that isn't available from the US divisions or importers? In this case Wiha?

Plently of resources available:

KC Tool: http://www.kctoolco.com/

Jens Putzier: http://www.jensputzier.com/

ChadsToolBox: http://chadstoolbox.com/

German Hand Tools: http://www.german-hand-tools.com/

Samstagsales: http://www.samstagsales.com/

Jens is also a member on GJ (as well as KC Tool) and if you send him a PM can probably give you a quote of exact cost to include shipping from Germany to your door step.

Also, I belive KC Tool offers a 10% discount for GJ members but I cannot remember the code. But it can be found in the signature block of the KC Tool members here on GJ.

EDIT: Silly me, KCT_Jordan posted on this page...the KC Tool code is: "thanks2GJ".

Some French, some Czech and some Taiwanese.
Little disappointed in the Taiwanese make stuff. I would have thought Wera would have had higher standards.
The rest of the Zyklop system comes in tomorrow.

Man, I gotta quit opening this thread. I can't can't remember the last time I used an adjustable wrench (outside of the one in the work van for removing the tip in a prism rod) but I MUST have those!

I've been looking at getting the Zyklop Metal ratchets... what about them disappoints you? I take it you wouldn't recommend them?

No the ratchets are top notch. Tight assembly, clean ratcheting, seam tough as nails. I think they are great.

It's the sliding t handles that are from Taiwan that fell short. Tolerances seam loose, quite a bit of wobble.

Sliding T-handle to me is the least used in a socket set anyway. I mostly grab the swiveling handle, even before the ratchet.

The sliding-t seems to be a non-USA component for the most part.

I've never seen one in a Craftsman/SnapOn/SK set. Both my Facom sets have them and I know Hazet offers them, too.

I tend to use them in place of combination wrench on the back side of a bolt.

I understand there is no logic in this. Two sets of sockets are needed. I'm just not a fan of the combination wrench.

I'm not sure Craftsman even carries them anymore. SK packs them in some of their 1/2" sets. Williams has them in quite a few sets. But it's not a standard item like it seams to be in the European sets.

Here are some pic of the pliers pages from the Belzer cat. Moderators, I hope these aren't too big, I figured some folks would want to copy them for reference.

2oolhound - thanks for uploading these! Really interesting!

I have a pair of Belzer pliers, and a matching pair of cutters, that belonged to my Dad! Belzer wasn't that common in the U.K. but he got them because the quality was obviously top end!

Sadly, you don't always realise how good some tools are till you have used the for a few years - in this case about 30!

The materials and workmanship are all first class, as is the design! Grips are perfect, giving you a little more grip than a dip coating, but without the excess bulk and useless soft finish that you get in so many 'comfort grips' today! The chrome plating was a novelty back then (British pliers were mostly just polished) but it's stood the test of time really well!

I wish you could go out and order from this catalogue today! Could be costly though!

A couple closer shots to show off the machining on the 1/4" t handle. To me that's not quality work, no matter where it's done.

Monte, those Gedore adjustable wrenches does not look like the South African manufactured ones. As far as I know we only manufacture the black industrial finish ones locally. I would guess the COO is Brazil.
could be possible too

It almost looks like a facom. I'm not sure though
Yes it looks like a oldschool Facom 151 series ratchet. But its hard to know for sure because I can still see some differences. But I do know that Facom did some other weird stuff, like this 151 / 161 series hybrid they did for Würth:

Facom R.155A 1/4" knurled metal handle ratchet. I really want the longer R.157A version of this one! But it is discontinued and very hard to come by. I tried ordering it at several companies that still list it on their site but no luck so far.

Full set of Jonessway torx. Germany.

Those are the same screwdrivers that Halfords sells. I'm pretty sure the COO is Asia (I seem to recall that being stated on the box), but the "Germany" refers to the Patent number printed below it.

I might be wrong, but then the 8pc mixed set regularly sells for <£10 here, and the 6pc Torx set is regular price £13 and on for £10 currently. If I am wrong that'd make them the cheapest German-made screwdrivers by a wide margin.

Cute PB magnetizer. I bet the bit driver is made by Bost, same OEM as Facom Protwist and Stanley Fatmax screwdriver. Quality piece of kit!

New haul:

Edit:

A set of Wera Torx screwdrivers with hold function and golden tip (right in the box)
a set of Wera Pozidrive screwdrivers with blue handles and hexagon shaft, its the diamond tip version, holts itself in the screw, even upside down.
A PB Swiss gerneral service screwdriver set from Garant (wholeseller branded)
A Set of big wera Lastertip type screwdrivers in foam, I like foam inserts but only the ones where I think of that they do not waste soo much space.
The occasional Knipex pliers wrench in 10" and 150mm (I´m too lazy to convert)
Some other Knipex pliers (Cobra ES, bend needle nose, sidecutters)
BetaKut sissors branded as Garant
PB Swiss mallet, PB Swiss scraper
Hazet 9012-!SPC wheelgun set with three sockets
**** files
Pse stuff and Grinding stuff from 3M and a bit set
