There's some very high quality made in the USA storage boxes as well. I've purchased a lot of Akro-Mils stuff lately, they're fantastic quality. If you ever walk into CVS or RiteAid and see someone stocking shelves, they're probably using Akro-Mils boxes. They usually look beat to death, but they keep on ticking.

I've been burning my monthly tool quota picking up a few of these recently:

http://www.sears.com/akro-mils-39120-blue-12-gal-attached-lid/p-00904596000P?

They also have clear ones, but aren't nearly as well built.

Any website on this? Interested in how long is long, and whether the smaller sizes (10-14mm) are still long as well.

I just cleaned up my pliers drawer a little, it's a mix of Beta, Knipex, Bessey, and some other junk. :) The non-Beta snips are Wiss.

Yeah, love the Betas. I only have the diagonal cutters and the needle nose pliers, but the grips are really excellent. The Knipex ones are very nice, but the Betas feel better in my hand. Maybe the Germans have bigger hands than the Italians? The Knipex has some better functional design features though, like the anti-pinch.

The needlenose is in the set that I keep in my truck.

I'm throwing all my wrenches back into the fires of Mordor as a sacrifice. All projects are deferred until I get my hands on these. :willy_nil:willy_nil:willy_nil:willy_nil

Thanks for the a News Flash Monte!

I'll be getting some of these when they come out! Hopefully TBS Aachen (a good source for Hazet in Europe or U.K.) will be listing these soon!

For those not familiar with the Hazet 600, this is their 'long' pattern wrench, comparable to the Stahlwille 14. Unlike Stahlwille, they have an angled ring rather than offset, which I generally prefer!

Proportions of the 600 are almost identical to the old British made Britool long pattern combination wrench, long discontinued! Finish is part matte and part polished, which makes for a very durable, but very usable, tool!

The extra long version is going to have to be uber long to distinguish it from the regular! Sounds great!

I love their promo video too!

Maico and drtyler, thanks for that! Looks like DIN sizes only at first! Not surprising, but not a bad place to start!

Pricing doesn't look too bad!

I'll certainly be getting a set!

Wow, I just compared a 13mm wrench size and those are long for sure (for a combi wrench at least). A Snap-on XL length FD+ 13mm is about 3/4" shorter in comparison. I would definitely want one if there was an anti-slip feature on the open-end.

The new Fein 12 volt drill ABSU 12 C

The new Fein 12 volt driver ABSU 12 W4C

I thought those looked familiar to Milwaukee's stuff. ....then I remembered... TTI. :p

I just recalled the design similarities that were shared between these older drill models:

Yeah, Fein started designing their drills in-house from what I've gathered. The new 18v brushless have their own 4-speed gearbox now (which only Festool has something similar), and looks like they use Rohm chucks instead of the Yukiwa on the pictured, that have gathered quite a few complaints.

maybe.... :)

I am confused, who makes the Fein power tools?
usually Fein :)
However the 18V cordless impact wrench/driver and the cordless entry level drill are not made by Fein. All other products are made by Fein in Germany. Don´t know about the 12 volt tools yet though...

Their premium 4-speed models are made by Fein in-house.

The fein vacuums are also made outside Germany. I think I read the current ones are made in Hungary. The older ones were made in Italy.

Well Monte I am looking at the ASCM 18 C and ASCM 18 QXC, which one would you prefer?

Also my industrial Dealer says he can order the C for $215 USD and the QXC for $240 USD (both as complete kits). Is that a good deal?

That is pretty neat! Makes me wonder what other car manufacturer marked tools can be found! A quick google search turned up this Mercedes/AMG set:

AMG_close_up.jpg

According to the thread; made by Snap On but issued only in the old world (Japan). ;)

Too bad that would barely take off a plastic cover panel. :lol_hitti

Mercedes will try to throw as many different fasteners as possible into a car. Want to change your shocks? Grab the hex drivers, the XZN, the torx, the e-torx, and a 12 pt socket set.:eyecrazy:
