thanks everyone. (i am at page 114 now)
Yes. i know i will get all three sizes 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2. (before

) in metric size.
and in the 3/8" size i think i should get a flex head version also. (versality)
and in 1/2" size i kinda want a long handle ratchet also. ("more" power)
but these "specialist" tools i might get in more cheaper brands.
and yes.. i agree, the 3/8" size wrench set i have now has been very convinient many times in car repairs.
i now consider it the most useful size.. almost small enough with small enough socket sizes to fit everywhere, and almost strong enough and big enough for bigger nutz and bolts.
but the ratchet in this set is now getting worn out. (had to abuse it while ago by using too long extension pipe on the handle as extra leverage to open too stubbornly rusted bolt on "roadside repair".. and when i need to do that on cheaper set.. i dont trust it to last long anymore.. or another job like that)
but basically the socket set is still fine, so i could get by just by getting new ratchet in 3/8 size now (save some money).. the smaller and bigger sets needs to be replaced totally for conveniences sake. (the big set for those mean big bolts that need it.) and small for the fiddly stuff.
ps. side note: i never got the idea of screwdriver type of handle in socket set.. i just dont like to use those. and most nuts and bolts i tend to need to wrench at that screwdriver will not fit anyways.
slim head is one of the demands i also have for them ratchets. it seems that it always is a tight fit, one way or another. so size matters. (one reason i liked facom. they have small round heads) this is why i do wonder if the flex head ratchets would be the wisest choices to by. (sadly they hardly ever come with set of sockets and good case) one negative i have with my current 1/2 ratchet is that it does have a rather big sized head in it.

went on today to shop (briefly before it closed) to try the gedore 1919 set in my hand. had the clerk open the package and spent few minutes inspecting it. but i didnt buy it because it felt.. hmm. kind of clumsy.
it had very solid lockup with sockets (i couldnt get 15mm size on the ratchet on first try). everything felt robust, kind of heavy and therefore high quality.
but suprisingly there was something like metal shavings inside the extension.. didnt expect that kind of thing in this kind of tool. also it felt somehow "too industrial" in my mind for lack of better better word.
the sockets felt very strong walled and heavy. and the all metal construction with the inside panel beeing metallic too made me think of it beeing noisy rattling thing.
there was a kamasa set right next to it and that felt more dainty and light and with smaller sized thin walled sockets. the ratcheting action click sound etc wasnt as smooth as in gedore though. and the kamasa 1/4 ratchet ..well that actually felt more like a toy than actual tool i would dare to try to twist an tight 10mm bolt open.
didnt have time to test the beta tools they had. if i had known they had those i would of tried them too. they look pretty in pictures. (will try them some other day/week)

ordered a set of cheap kamasa screwdrivers from ebay.uk while ago and they came in today. and yep.. dissapointed. i doubt they are not kamasa tools. they dont look or feel like ones.. so they are likely fakes just named "kamasa". (looks like it is this set:
http://kamasa.co.uk/item.aspx?cat=451&item=3766) .. oh well they were cheap and i keep loosing/misplacing all my cheap philips heads, so they will find a place in somewhere. but once again.. if it sounds too cheap and its on ebay. it likely is not what you think it is. and one really shouldnt buy stuff online after 2 am.

ps. to me that looks far from truly "ideal" shovel.

blade shape for instance.. looks flat, no curvature at all to hold stuff in. very big bump in middle of the blade. and then the straight handle (no grip handle in the end)
