pics of the polisher? it's somewhere in the basement , I don't do any metal work anymore, I'll look for it tomorrow. Will take pictures of my grinding set-up, fastest and most cost effective I found yet.
As for the newer grinders.. no I didn't , I have a bosch variable speed for light grinding/finishing and a Flex for cutting both 125mm and both south of 10 years old
Wish I had that metabo Inox years ago, think I'm going to buy one anyway
yeah some pics of your grinders would be cool !!!!! :rocker:
Yes.
Do you know good made in Germany (or Britain, France, ...) ones that are about the same price as the Jawcos?
i´m not aware that someone here makes rethreading dies. For rethreading/cleaning threads i use this tool: http://www.nes.co.il/158905/ThreadMate
(Made in Israel afaik)
I didn't even know that such thing existed! What a cool tool, congrats!:rocker::bowdown:
there is also this tool from Wolfcraft which can be used with a power tool or by hand:

btw. nice tool haul !!!

Finally bought myself my dream toolbox
nice looking box !! i like the large drawers !

I found the eibenstock but it's a bit of hoarding going around and can't actually get to it right now

Here's the bosch and Flex, I know the bosch is green and nobody gets excited by green but he's a tough little *******.
Also the best set-up I found for grinding welds, fast, flat and cheap.

Anyone has experience with this compressor? http://www.tbs-aachen.de/pneumatics/piston_compressors/SBN_1060_Compressor_900/100_i43_15575.htm

The specs look too good to be true, 720L/m from a 4kw motor...

Hi,

I am searching for a set of internal extractors.
I found these and they seem identical:

Hazet 1788T/5

Gedore 1.34/10

Does anyone know how Hazets hammers with the blue band compare to Gedores Rotband hammers? I have a Rotband lump hammer on the way but just deciding between a Hazet or Gedore engineers hammer, would like the Hazet just because of the colour difference...

nice Flex and Bosch grinder ! Your green grinder is not bad at all, inside is a blue tool ! Made in Germany, constant electronics and Bosch blue quality ! They also offered the green PWS 13-125 which was a blue GWS 14-125 with a different electronic module and 100 watt less power. Everything else was the same.

If the compressor really delivers 700 L/min then it´s a good deal !!!
The question is how is the quality, is it an original italian product or a knock off etc....

Who makes these?

Gedore and Picard both claim their top screw attachment is stronger than their traditional ring bands or stakes. Have a read of this pdf.

Peddinghaus hammers are not made in Germany. They´re from France or Romania or elsewhere...
btw. nice splitting maul !

Monte, I have seen these identical keys from Knipex, NWS, Gedore (the red plastic part is then blue), Wiha, and I don´t know who else. Do you know who is the OEM?
VBW, Athlet.... :)
The internet research shows that many stores sell these keys from a brand called "SB" or "SuB". Further research shows that there is a company called "Schünke und Bockmühl". They own a store: www.schuebo.de but also own patents for these keys:
http://www.google.com/patents/EP2243596A1?cl=en
They offer a vast amount of different cabinet keys:
https://www.schuebo.de/go/index.php?show=opencat&id=1759
https://www.schuebo.de/go/index.php?show=opencat&id=1760
So i guess they might be the manufacturer. Many keys also have their logo "S+B" cast into the key:

Finally bought myself my dream toolbox (with the current $ to € rate I would need to get a mortgage for Snap-On):

Beta C24SA XL

Thom

Nice box Thom, orange is the best colour for a Beta toolbox! (I dont think a true Dutchman would choose an other colour)
I own a Beta toolbox myself, a classic C24 and a lot of Beta tools. I am very pleased with the price/quality ratio on their toolboxes. But now I need some more storage space. I have been thinking about buying the same one as you have.
The only thing downside with this box is it has only 7 drawers, I am hoping they will come with an 8 drawer version next year. I am not to fond of the deep drawers below, I keep my powertools somewhere else.

Those feel really nice, I've got a couple in the 'heavy duty' version, with hex and striking cap.

I seem to recall I read somewhere on this forum that some DeWalt grinder models were made in Germany, by Metabo? Could be wrong about this though...

Reason I ask, is because I rescued this one from the dumpster.

The switch has broken and the brushes are worn. Replacements are cheap, so this one's getting another go!

Hey All,

can you help a brother out :)

I'm looking to get a couple of these German-made Gapola crossbow dart guns (with darts!) -- they come in the long version and pistol version -- for Christmas presents. They're USD75 in the USA. That's quite a bit. And I mightn't balk as much if it weren't for the pretty hefty markup (looks like they're retailing in Germany for about 20-30 euro with extra darts for about 1-2 euro each).

Looks like I can't get them from Amazon UK (though the price is right) because of shipping restrictions. But on Amazon.de it's looking OK, but I'm almost completely ignorant of German -- can some kind (and fluent) soul take a quick look and let me know if any of these listings will ship to the US and if so for how much?

Would love to get two of them and possibly some extra darts but would rather not break the bank, so if I can bring them in from Europe, that'd be ideal.

If someone can help arrange it (or at least point me in the right direction of a reseller who'll ship for a reasonable price to US) perhaps I could do the same in return!

Hello !
Weicon and Jokari are the OEM´s. Weicon was the distributor for Jokari for years, but then they decided to make their own tools. So there are 2 makers. Both offer similar, but not identical tools.

Thanks Monte!

die grinders, Yes, based on this Metabo:

they still sell yellow Metabos....if you look closely you can spot 5 yellow Metabos on this page:
http://www.dewalt.de/powertools/productoverview/hierarchy/3162/
They also sold the Metabo Delta-sander in yellow.
In return Metabo sold Dewalt SDS-Max rotary hammers in green (in the past, now from TTI).

I forgot the fantastic price: for non-EU-customers 999,00 EUR excl. shipping (expedited or express air freight). The tool trolley can be ordered now, but not delivered until in the fifth week 2016!

I am asking because I bought a pear shaped before and although it looks the parts I don't like the feeling of it and the is very stiff with lots of back drag.

I have also asked an eBay seller and told me that the S.161 non-lock one is made in France.

Is it true and if yes , Ιtaly or France would be better quality/ finish.

I also have a the Stahlwille 3/8 80 teeth and it is top. Just need (want) one more .

I would also have the chance to compare and get pictures!!!

I would ask ultimate garage. I guess he is reading this, anyways, so most probably he will respond to the question here.

If you go to his website (http://ultimategarage.com/) and then click on Facom, and then on any ratchet, you can download the current price list which contains COO info. The J171 has apparently been replaced by the JL171, and the JL171 is made according to this in Taiwan. However, I am not sure about the J171, probably France or Italy, as suggested below. Miskin in his post below is probably right that this is a great ratchet no matter of COO, but personally I like the idea that Facom is from Europe.

By the way, the 3/8 Proto swivel head J5257F is according to my best knowledge identical to the corresponding Facom and made in Italy (and available at Zoro for $42.54. Please correct me if I´m wrong, because these swivel heads in 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 are next on my list.

ultimate garage is, as far as I can say, a real tool aficionado who deserves, in my opinion, the forum's support - before buying anything new Facom, I would talk to him. Just my two cents...

*snip*

Very nice! Now that I've held one of the Rotbands I'm very impressed, so I guess I'll be buying some more. They're so damn comfortable too. Will try and get some pics of my haul so far up soon, just need to buy a few more bits...

Some new additions:

Beargrip inbus keys:
DSCN1108_zpshf6gmhop.jpg

DSCN1110_zpsopc6g3no.jpg

Are this the "Made in Holland" ones or is it from their new factory in Slovakia?

Anyone familiar with this brand? It is from the mid-seventies, my father bought it to use on his moped. It looks pretty good after all those years lying in a toolbox among rusty stuff. The colour differs also a little from most other wrenches, (it is no so clear on this pictures) but it has kind of copperlike tone to it.
