Now let´s get back to tools... ;-)
That's odd, you've got 15A breakers? Here even the lighting circuits typically run off 230V 16A breakers. Hell, our 30 year old vacuum cleaner draws 2000W![]()
Is that a rebranded Wiha? It looks very similar to me. Anyway a nice screwdriver, I love these classic style handles!
20A breakers, but the plugs/outlets are 15A rated most of the time. 20A outlets are available, but not common.
After i find out that my new Mitutoyo digital calipers was fake, i was very disappointed.
I decided my new digital caliper not to be a Mitutoyo (even though for 15 years I worked only with those) because fake Mitutoyo calipers are the majority on the net, especially on ebay.
So i bought these Swiss made Sylvac digital calipers. The small one is for a friend here...

. Or use the good old "analogue" Mitutoyo.I looked at several models around 3 HP and less from Stihl, Husqvarna, Dolmar and Hitachi. But all saws except the Dolmar PS 350 and 420 are made out of plastic. The cheaper stihls also have plastic tooth. What i did like about the Stihls was the see-through gas and oil tanks. I think Husqvarnas have the clutch on the outside ? Don´t like that too much. Hitachi: Simply looks too cheapElectric chainsaws are good for small jobs , around the house and quiet.I have had Makita/Dolmar 2000w for a while , good features!.The Dolmar PS-420 has a split magnesium crankcase , good price/quality.Here around 350 eur incl tax (But it is not the smallest and lightest 40cc saw)
230mm power in a small and light packageWhat are 2000w small grinders good for? That is already 230mm grinder territory.
nice collection !!! Love those Alox models !Monte, here some stuff you could put on your key chain:

SYLVAC!Nice calipers, I had never heard of the brand. But it is Swiss made so it must be very accurate and wellmade.
Tesa has also a nice line of measuring tools. http://www.tesagroup.com/en-gb/home/#.Vm8HhNLhBdg
I own a Gedore 711. Like this one: (but with two screws)
![]()
I don't think it is made by Gedore. It looks asian, who does know the OEM? Luckily I bought it on sale for like 50 euros. If your gonna pay the normal price (almost 100 euros), you better spent iton a real measuring tool brand.
And what are your experiences with digital calipers, mine uses a lot of batteries. I dont use it that often but the battery doesn't last longer than a year. No big deal cause a battery is cheap and fast replaced. I just need to keep one in stock. Or use the good old "analogue" Mitutoyo.
nice calipers ! Hopefully these are original![]()
Man, I love Gedore very much, but come on Gedore

I was very disappointed, this is after only one use doing suspension work on my vehicle, and I like my tools enough not to abuse them. It looks and feels even worse in person, pictures are not clear enough
Monte, is this normal? Is Gedore going the way of PRC![]()

Very nice!
We use Sylvac extensively here at work and they are very good items. The best feature of the S-cal Pro vernier is that it switches on automatically when you use it. It is also IP67 rated which means it withstands contact with fluids and oils etc. Handy when using it inside the CNC.
i made the pics here:

They also have a small selection of Dewalt and Bosch Green as well as a larger selection of Makita and Bosch Blue (+Fein Multimaster).
Eibenstock offers several price categories just like Metabo, so a 120.-€ mixer with 960 watt made out of plastic is probably not as good as the 350.-€ mixer with metal gear case and 1800 watt. But in the higher price category you will find premium quality just like the higher priced Metabo tools, maybe no Duss quality but they´re in their own league...But if Eibenstock can supply drill motors for major mag drill manufacturers like Powerbor or Karnasch which means heavy duty use then i believe they offer high quality. The good thing about Eibenstock is that most tools are made here and that they didn´t change the tools too much from their GDR manufactured ones:
http://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-...hrgeraet,-eibenstock-ehm120/278222280-84-2036
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Zweihand-Boh...075130?hash=item4af5012dfa:g:23cAAOSwAKxWYAmS
So it seems they are reliable constructions.
Since you are from the UK you might be able to check out a couple of Eibenstock tools at your Makita dealer (!!):
these tools:

http://www.makitauk.com/products/construction/mixers/ut120-mixer.html
http://www.makitauk.com/products/drills/diamond-core-drills/dbm080-diamond-core-drill.html
as well as other mixers and core drills are labelled "Made in Germany" and i´m 99,99% sure they are made by Eibenstock.
edit: their UK importer: http://eibenstock.co.uk/
some prices: http://www.rapidtoolsdirect.co.uk/category/paddle-mixing-machines
btw. here a company video:

I was not aware of that, thanks for pointing that out. Very disconcerting. How do you distinguish fake from real ones? Are there any official sellers on ebay or online for the US?
Edit: Would you say this one, for example, should be ok?

I found this relic in my inspection room while looking through the drawers for some gauges! it was really abused by the previous inspectors and machinist, nonetheless very cool.

Why do people quote ALL the pictures and make this thread unnecessarily long????

Yes, do that please because that's the reason I bought them, I was working with the oldest version in my previous work, those looked like the counterfeit.I am pleased to share that I have placed my order with ash for some Felo Tools!
Actually there are three generation of that series of slide Calipers, that being the latest variation. I will find some time to take a group picture of all of them together at my work.
