Blow gun at my workplace, quality feels good. However, I still like the JWL blow guns better.

And the "toolmaker" (that my workplace recently aquired) that the air gun is attached to: (German + Japanese designed)

As a bonus, this is a press I have been told that has been in service for 20 years:

Where are these Vallorbe-Grobet engineers files made, they seem to cheap to be Swiss made ?

http://www.onlyqualitytools.com/catalog/Vallorbe/Engineers_Files.html

http://www.vallorbe.com/Standard.php?p=520&m=4&l=3#

They are definitely Swiss!

What's happening here is that you are buying decent tools from a tool dealer who is putting a fair mark up on his prices, rather than buying **** from a DIY store who is putting a huge markup on, and reaching the same price!

Buy some - best value out there for files at the mo!

Very nice, thanks for sharing the pics. This got me to the following question: Does someone by coincidence know where (preferably in the US) to get Wiha pliers made in Switzerland (I think this was their last European COO before moving production to Vietnam)? Sadly, these should be all NOS by now...
the VDE pliers are still advertised as swiss made
http://www.kctoolco.com/wiha-insulated-combination-pliers-7-inch-p/32816.htm
maybe they have not updated the info ...? maybe mail them and order all swiss made pliers before they´re gone :)
And the "toolmaker" (that my workplace recently aquired) that the air gun is attached to: (German + Japanese designed)
now that are some cool tools i wish i had :)

Espuna welding gloves.
supposed to be made in France

I have got a few files and a rasp and I have to say that they are very sharp. Not able to confirm the coo because I bought the with handles and cannot see all the sign on them.

Also, the service is very good and I am looking to see what other I can buy. However o am not a pro and my budget is not unlimited.

Yes, do that please because that's the reason I bought them, I was working with the oldest version in my previous work, those looked like the counterfeit.

Finally found some time to take pictures of some genuine Mitutoyo. The most abused is property of workplace (1). The other two are employee owned [coworker (3) and I (2)]

1_zpsxs3hqhrl.jpg

As you can see, mm is ALWAYS at bottom on screen. Imperial is at above middle for oldest and below middle at the two newer generation. Plastic housing has also become more refined. Screen size has also increased. Button placement has not changed nor has the slide locking knob. Minor changes as noted are material changes and circuitry redesigns.

When you place new battery, screen should flash and return to METRIC when set.

At rear, oldest has a saw dredge channel. Newer ones has a milled slot

Lastly, the fit, finish, parallelism, battery life, and response also indicate the true pedigree of calipers.

I have a wurth blowgun, i belive that comes from Cejn also.
Cejn is the best in quality when it comes to airfittings etc here in Sweden:
http://www.cejn.se/

They indeed are the OEM for Würth! I wish to add that the JWL blow gun feels better in my hands, but the trigger bends more than the Cejn. Regardless both are very good! I was going to buy Würth air fittings, but now I think I try the Cejn.;)

I've got one of these incoming. Seems quite a rare spec: Wiha Pozidrive with metal strike cap and micro finish handle for greasy or wet hands. Not cheap though, same price as the PB Swiss PH strike cap models.

Thanks!
My fake Mitutoyo has no button selector inch/mm. Metric is the only option.

:eyecrazy: They have metric only and both systems. But no imperial only!

It does not mean your caliper is fake. Your best bet is to look at the finish and compare.

My caliper is fake not because of the button. The finish and quality is low. Check the lettering "Mitutoyo" on the left caliper of your photo, which is an old one. Now check the lettering on mine. It is fading and it is almost anused. Also the battery is the wrong type.

luckily we have a Hornbach big box store here so i can get them offline too. Virtually the only source to get some EU made drill bits offline...

Some old school Hazet tools sent to me from a friend on this site. :rocker:

It is if you live in Burundi ! Check out the 2015 IMF figures for GDP per head. Mind you, Germany, perhaps surprisingly, is well behind the US, Australia and the UK too.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal)_per_capita

I've got a big 200 euro tool haul currently being assembled by TBS, I'll see if I can get that cup added to it. Even tool Fuhrer-experten Monte might not own one...

As the items are shipping outside of the EU make sure they knock off the 19% German MwSt (vat sales tax)

TBS Aachen certainly DO ship to Oz; I have had 6 orders (c. $3200 AUD) over the last 3 years from them, and I have always found their shipping rates quite reasonable too.
Their service has been unreservedly excellent.

I called in to look at the shop 2 years ago in Aachen when in Germany, fantastic place.

Register with them online, then the displayed prices are less the 19% VAT

Nothing tricky at all with the ordering process in my experience.

For the end consumer it works just like a sales tax, its applied on most things but some stuff is at reduced or zero rates. We pay 20% here. Unlike the US we can't get out of paying it on internet orders either. Where it is different is the value added part, businesses in the supply chain have to change vat on the value they add to their products and services but they get to claim back the vat they paid on the inputs. The accountants do well from all the paper work. People on low incomes have low income tax rates (nothing under £10000 then 10%) and often get decent benefits back from the state to make living affordable. High earners pay much more income tax.

Re: my new Stahlwille presentation

:bowdown::beer:
It is sad that in Croatia we do not have big Stahwille store with concept wall or some showcase tools...

Well, as an authorized dealer I have the opportunity to show you the Stahlwille plant. Croatia is not so far away from Germany.
Stahlwille has completed the historical counting house recently. An interesting exhibition awaits you here also.
