Looks like he changed his tune in his latest review (and is actually reviewing the brushless this time). FFWD to 10:30.

The Metabo looked to be the best to me, but it says made in China on it. What are the made in Germany options ? Festool ?

Oh, these aren't made in Germany?
Taiwan possibly:

iirc there was/is a american company who makes those too.
Forward to 6:30. That Metabo is a toy. Li'l dogs stay on the porch
It´s the older Metabo version in that video. The new one is much better.

the high end Metabos are german made. Festool (2 speed version), Fein (4-speed), Mafell and Kress too.
If you supersize this pic you can see the coo of the current top of the line Metabo drill.

Hello everyone,

Got these from a recent trip to Japan. I must say though, prices of tools (and everything else for that matter) are prohibitively expensive over there :shocking: :wtf:

For the Hazet stuff I paid twice as much as it would have costed to buy it online, but I still went ahead and got two 1/4 ratchets for my extensive 1/4 toolbox build.

Opinions on the Koken ratchet? It's been sitting in my cart, but I'm still not convinced I *NEED* it....yet.

Nice catch! It looks a bit like a Gedore adjudant.
yes, it seems this type of tool boxes was in vogue in the past. I like the modern ones better though. If old then Hazet Assistent :D
When will it be restored ?
i don´t know :) i´ve to wait a bit since it´s snowing right now so it´s a tad too cold to paint...:(
Thanks for the link! Looks pretty good ! But i already ordered the Johnson version.

Its a cool looking ratchet for sure, and smooth like butter. I got it on that merit alone. I don't know if I will ever "need" it, but its there if it's needed.

maybe visit germany next time you want to buy Hazet tools :)

Thats the plan :)

Monte, how are the guides?

At work I had one with worn guides. One day I pushed the drawer a bit to hard and the whole drawer with tools went out the other side on to the floor.:lol_hitti

I'd love an Assistent. Wanted one for years but the prices, even used, are outrageous. :(
Very tempted by a Stahlwille or Hazet "tool cart". If only i had the space..
...says the man who just upgraded his Snap-On tool box...:D;)
Thats the plan :)

See I told you winter wasn't over yet.
yes:):p but hopefully soon :D
Monte, :bowdown::beer:
can not resist Stahlwills boxes and roll cabs
:thumbup::beer:
lol.
Totally a hoarder, except from the chaos part, not my thing. I guess I have a small mind according to Monte's posted quote "Only the small mind needs order... The genius can oversee the chaos".
compared to Einstein who said that we all have a small mind i guess :)

Any thoughts on Metabo 450 SXE vs Bosch 3725DEVS?

The 450 SXE is nice because you can switch orbit diameters, it's pretty well liked. Any reason you're looking at the 3725 and not the ROS65VC? The ROS65 has made a bunch of improvements on the 3725, I'm not entirely sure why they still offer both? The price is also more in line w/ the Metabo though.

The Metabo is made in Germany, not sure about the 3725. The ROS65VC is made in Switzerland.

Anyways, I haven't owned either (I don't own a 5" random orbit at all actually). I have the Bosch OS50VC for a 1/2 sheet, and if the 5" ROs are anything like that, it should be really nice. I also have a 1294VS, which has become a favorite for me.

I have been thinking about the SXE400, especially during the 15% off at CPO, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I still have 22 hours to decide.

Yes, the reason is I didn't notice the ros65vc in the lineup lol.

For professional use the Festool 150/5 ETS. I have just sent one to my cousing who is a carpenter and he has been using Rupes, Bosch, Dewalt, etc. He says "that is the best ever and Rupes is also very good the rest not worth if you are a pro".

The Bosch power tools factory in Switzerland is closed. Hurry up if you want swiss made power tools. Their new jigsaws etc. are from Hungary now.

Nice haul Vidar. Local or online purchase? And forget the therapist. The answer is more tools.

Instead of spending money on therapists,i rather spend them on more tools[emoji2] Bought all from germany.Ebay sellers, and some from Hand tools from germany, which you probably have seen in this thread. I have looked at prices for Stahlwille and Gedore in norway,i just hurt my eyes[emoji15]
