I have Ullman products myself and the handle portion does appear similar, but I don't see the lobular grips (perhaps it's because of the angle they are laid out in the photo). More importantly though is that Ullman doesn't offer that type of ball-socket swivel head design. So far I've only seen one company that has that style (Carica), but it's not an exact match to the Stahlwilles.

That Hazet is a shallow offset while the Gedore is a deep offset. Perhaps the deep offset would be a more appropriate addition to your tool aresnal?

I think they both have the same ring offset of 10 degrees. To me the Gedore looks more robust at the open end due to the rib.

The beam angle may be similar (around 10 degrees), but the ring offset is different:

I have a couple of Gedore 1B and I do not like them. It is better if you have the opportunity to try them on a bolt to see.

I also think that Gedore material is softer compared to other manufacturer

Although Hazet 600N would be my my first choice for a set of combination wrenches I already have a mixed brands set from 6mm to 32mm (Usag 285N mainly with Pastorino, C. Walter older (straight handle FACOM, Acesa filling some gaps). They are all in good condition and I cannot justify the cost of buying an identical set such as Hazet's beautiful 600N. I am looking for something between Hazet 603, Gedore 1b, or Facom 41 series. I am not a fan of Facom after production moved East from France and the old USAG factory in Italy. So between the two German brands which one do you fancy Monte?

I really like my Gedore 1b's, they feel robust. But in tight spaces they might not be ideal.

What about Stahlwille wrenches, they are also really nice!

I once worked at a car wash for 1/2 year and we used Koch for everything. Basically exactly the products i bought, that´s also the reason why i bought them because i know the products. Motul is not that common here but i´ll try to find some products from them !

Some time there might be some QC differences. I've got a dozen of Heyco pliers made by Will. I can say many of them are even worse than Chinese stuff. But the Hazet pliers I own from the same time same patent and same factory are much better.

I agree Voodoo. I have pair of Heyco pliers (not sure if Heyco made them or someone else). They're pretty junky. I'd put them on par with cheap chinese junk. I gave them to my brother in law. Felt kinda bad doing that, probably should've thrown them away.

Where as my Knipex and Orbis pliers are absolutely beautiful and top notch!

BTW, did someone before you use a philips on a pozi screw and completely trashed the set-screw?









The impression that I always get with Heyco is that they have been, and are still to this day, mass producers of in-car tool-kits. I think in-car tool-kits are generally of lower quality finish.
They are the tools that are often neglected by owners and in many cases their owners are not even sure what or how to use them.

Maybe a company that was marketing their products as German engineered and made, when in fact they were made offshore? It has happened. Just sayin'...
