Hello guys, was travelling back to UK yesterday but here is an update.
I had the Stahlwille 512 QRN 60T and they have a small design flaw. While you try to undo a bolt the ratchet locks and does not ratcheting either direction unless you give it a good hit with something on the head.
The new 512 QRN 80T does not have this problem and it is very smooth.
However, when I was in TBS I looked at the Gedore and while maybe felt bit more robust on the head I liked Gedore better mostly the handle which feels better on the hand. The handle of Stahlwille is bigger and more cumbersome. Also because the plastic handle is attached on the round ratchet bar it is often slips.
I also liked the fact that GEDORE has screws and mechanism can be replaced easily while Stahlwille is pressed in.

While I was in TBS I spent more than 2 hours comparing parts sockets etc. from the three companies.
My opinion is objective and represents the feeling of the tools while on the hands and some measurements with the caliper.
Ratchets I liked all sizes of latest Stahlwille with 80T.
Ratchets Gedore all three sizes in U20 configuration with 60T (1/4 has 40T) also awesome.
Hazet ratchets felt robust although quite coarse compared to the above.
Sockets are all three brands very good. Stahlwille are most slim but very close to Hazet.Gedore slightly thicker, 1 mm or less. Tolerances seems to be better on Stahlwille and Hazet but Gedore very close as well.
Hazet and Gedore have better knurling if that matters.
quick release I would buy only Stahlwille. Normal ones they are similar, however did not like the 1/2 Hazet T-Handle as it was vary loose and sliding on its own.
Strength wise I ha e no clue as we would need to carry out an experiment.
XZN socket drivers I compared Hazet TiN vs Gedore and the tolerances are both really tight so I buy Gedore which are less expensively. For repetitive use the Hazet TiN might be better as they are very hard wearing due to the coating.

For the money, Facom palm, Stahlwille and Gedore are very good option. As well as the Tone and the Koken Zeal if you find a distributor or Ebay good price. I have facom and a chepo one so not urgent at the moment.
Less backdrag is probably with Gedore 2093 U-20, however both the Stahlwille and Facom are very close. I would say after some usage all three will be similar with Gedore the lightest one.
Differences is that Facom 1/4 round head plam control made in Italy very good/ smooth, however no QR button. New Facom par shaped has smost backdrag and it is made in Taiwan, however judging by the 3/8 one I have from Taiwan it gets smoother with use but keep in mind it is sealed so no repairs.
Gedore is superb/ no backdrag feels solid with QR button but only 40T.
Stahwlille feels like Gedore, solid and it is a good choise due to QR and 80T.
Then, there is the Koken Z-eal for which peaple say has no backdrag (no personal experience), however only 36T and no QR button.
Also, Tone might be a good option with 72T and QR, not sure about backdrag.
Or go Nepros and I am sure you won't dissapointed either
On another note,
As you may well aware Stahlwille is now delivers the tools in plastic boxes that are utterly r***h.
The Hazet Smart case are not best but much better than new Stahlwille.
Gedore steel are the best.
And Facom new ones are best plastic cases I have ever seen.
So, buy Facom or Gedore boxes and mix and match the best from each company

Are you sure its slipped? I have two torquefix and you can just rewind it up to this position to entirely release the tension on the mechanism. But mine work perfect

Positive on this. When tightening to max at 200 Nm there is no much for the pointer to go above.
When unwinding, yes it can go far below 20 Nm.
In addition, where the sticker ends you can see the red colour of the inner part instead of the silver sticker.
Anyway, I wouldn't trust it to use on sensitive parts on the car engine.
I will wait what GEDORE says about it. Hopefully TBS can sorted out. I contacted GEDORE for other items time ago and never got a reply.
Now that I am thinking about it I will contact them again and if get no response I will not buy anything GEDORE since the guarantee would be no existent.

Got one of those Gedore ratchets in 1/2" drive and its a really nice thing.
I have some Gedore stuff but don't actively look for it and only buy when I find a great deal, also because of total lack of any customer service here in the UK.

Got a few of both, no Problems with them. Besides the Black Cases are out of
Production? You have a lot of eBay Auctions with the Black Cases, just a few
are really the Black Cases. Most of them remainders. You order a one with a
Picture with a Black Case, probably you get a Set with the Smart Case.

This is good,but it has past one year from when i have send email to Gedore Germany and no responce yet.Two times i have seen quality control issues with new Gedore products i have bought[emoji35]
They are very good tools,I like them very much but the service is not very good.

I bought these tools from a flea market and I'd like to know more about this ratchet. Is Beta a premium brand like a Ferrari is in car world and do they go hand and hand. The ratchet has an odd design there is so spring or ball, it's kinda like an sk how the head is teethed but the center that has the square drive is just 3/4 of a circle and a spot for pawl that just slides back and forth and gets wedged to turn a bolt. You have to push square through and turn ratchet over for reverse. I live in southern Indiana but found it in Kentucky for $2.00 I think I got a score of a deal for a ratchet made in Italy and probably a rare find to be around here. I've found several Gedore wrenches and 1 Hazet 32mm single open head wrench I think was for a VW but not sure and that Facom insulated screwdriver which they threw in for free but I can't use it because it's posi drive plus flat tip. Let me know if it was a good find and more info about it and company who made it.

Beta is a premium brand. I actually think for a little while they did have a licensing agreement with Ferrari. They have had bad luck with distribution in the USA, but if you go to a World Superbike race you will see Beta tools in just about every pit.

Not by a long shot, more like a craftsman that you don't need to warranty often .
Premium may have been USAG before Stanley group took over Facom-Usag .

So, i understand in terms of quality they are equal. Are the hinges with metal insert and still intact after years of use? Is the plastic brittle or good enough for everyday normal use.
Would you recommend to buy one and any preference over the other?

The first ones had a fixed latch, which became briddle over time and often broke. Later cases had either a flexible metal latch (only 1/4" case as the 854) or hinges to the latch.
The black "HINOX"-case (stainless steel tools) had also stainless hinges for the lid.

I can say they are way better than craftsman in that the sockets mic up much more precisely. In fact, a friend had a craftsman socket that could not remove a nut without rounding and the Beta took it off without issue. Also their torque wrenches are made by Norbar, which are the best in my experience (and frequently seen in F1 pits). Overall, do I prefer Stahlwille, Hazet, and Gedore? Yes. That said, you'll see Beta in more pits than you'll see any of those. Sponsorship gets you the boxes, sometimes the tools, but generally they fill the boxes with whatever tools they actually prefer. I have never seen a Craftsman tool in anybody's pit.
I would say, the Black Ones are in the End are more solid. Maybe except
the Latch. Plastic of the Smart Cases is imho thinner, but also very
solid - I try to avoid to drop them.
For normal everyday Use bothshould be good. Maby it's an Option to buy both and look for yourself.
New empty Smart Case (1/9 for the 1/4'' Ratchets) costs about 18 EUR
on eBay.de (+P&P) a little more for the bigger ones.

I meant for europe made tools... actually can't think of any that I dislike more, even Unior or MoB-IUS makes far better tools
