Got the angled one today, haven´t seen it in Sweden until now.

These are sweet pliers. :bounce:

I have never seen long handled pliers in holland before. Granted I haven't been looking and don't really do any automotive hose work to warrant going out of my way for them.

Are they really that useful to have? Just curious.

Advice Alert!

I have the Robert Herder kitchen knife both Stainless and Carbon steel, see photo below.

I am looking similar one with sharp thin blade made in Japan.

Any feedback would be more than helpful.

Nail cutter Feather Parada M vs Seiki Edge - Both made in Japan

Seiki is sharper and cut with less effort while the Parada with larger head is easier to manipulate. Both cut very nicely.

Seiki is made by Green Bell Japan

7d7040a63466ab4da0f304573f9d1d6b.jpg

The head width of Parada is about 15 mm whilst the Seiki is 11mm.

Opening between cutting edges is about 2.5 mm on both.

Made in Spain - little bit longer would have helped with the hard shell organic almonds!

I'm not sure you are going to find a Japanese blade that will be as bendy as the herders. Or in that price range. These little windmill knives are excellent and almost disposable. With care the carbon versions last me about 3-4 years. After that to much metal has been lost sharpening.

I really like these tojiro pearing blades from the zen series. They are stiff and razor sharp. I think I paid about 35 euros for mine which makes it about 4 times as expensive. They are certainly not disposable and should last a lifetime if cared for.

Its not just in cars they are useful.

My first pair have saved me 3 times for about 1 hours of work so far, and i have had them for 2 months.... so they have already paid for themselves

I'm headed to Poland (Bydgoszcz) in a few weeks. Anyone have any ideas on what I should pick up while I'm there? Maybe a vise or two? Anyone know of the Polish equivalent to Craigslist?

I have many tools from the old world that are great, but this is my favorite. Bought it five years ago and wouldn't trade it for anything. Engineered better than a BMW. It easily ratchets down to securely setup a big tree in seconds. Merry Christmas!

Hey there
I would like to get some advice which ratchet to buy.
I have a standard Hazet 916 but looking for a 916L ( extra long) or an 916GL ( flex head). Both are on sale at the moment. I would choose the flex head but its 511mm long which seems to be a bit too long. I would to stick with Hazet. Any recommendations?

First post after 3 years just reading ;)

My presents for Christmas were a little bit late.

NWS old style I think, NOS, Made in Germany.
180mm length for piano wire 2.5mm. Feels good on the hand, more stiff than normal ones but seems to be easier cutting hard wire with it. These are sell for 50€ and I found it at a small shop forgotten on a shelf for 22€.

I also got another Robert Herder in Stainless. After comparing the carbon one I have they both are of same sharpness but the stainless does not rust[emoji12]! The carbon one really gets rusty just by the humidity in the kitchen.

91e641fd1d8bb2c58bc9e766d9401b6d.jpg

I also have the Victorinox 6.7603 which almost the same as the Herder one. Although both Victorinox and Herder get similar sharpness I believe the Herder cuts easier due to the angle of the edge and holds the edge longer.

I also prefer wood handles on knives.

Dip the carbon blade in a glas of vinegar for half a day. It will develop a grey blackish patina. After rinsing treat with olive oil.

They stop Rusting almost completely after that.
