Tohnichi....hands down and nothing else.

With Tohnichi's top of the line quality, durability and high standards believe me you won't be disappointed. You'll be buying more than just a simple torque wrench.

Thanks for the info. So which one should I buy, Tohnichi or Kanon? I found that in rakuten.co.jp, Kanon is more expensive (for a similar torque range).

All the above Metabo are made in Germany and they feel good in hand.

The jigsaw instructions say that if you set the thump wheel to A the rpm will increase incrementally to max however it seems to me that it is just max.

Does anyone knows anything or what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

It's a snowy day here in the U.K. so I've been sorting out my 'road box'. I wanted some Pozidriv screwdrivers to complement my hard handled Hazet slotted drivers (but an obviously different colour) and ended up with these Wiha.

Really nice in the hand, and the total opposite of the 'maximum torque' designs, which I can never spin screws quickly with! Durable too, and easy to wipe off!

Don't know why Wiha don't promote these more?

Yes  that particular style of Wiha screwdrivers and handle are sweet!

I've got only one Wiha red handle acetate screwdriver, as you show in your post, that I was lucky enough to purchase here in the U.S. wish I could get a few more just like what you have.

What's the snow like Dave? I'm in Ireland, we are due to get it today:rocker:.
Where did you manage to get the screwdrivers? I had a flat head in The same handle design and it was always with me in work and got worked really hard until I left it on some scania....do you have a link to the supplier?

Only had about 5 inches so no real drama, but it's hanging around!

Yes, for some reason those drivers seem harder to find. Sets turn up from time to time, either on eBay, or even at my local electrical fitting supplier. They are often dead cheap (£15 for 6 drivers) but always seem to include Phillips not Pozidriv.

There are some more on U.K. Amazon, but prices vary widely, and again no Pozidriv.

I just searched on 'Wiha Classic Pozidriv' which took me straight to Wiha.com. When I went to the site it takes you straight to the U.K. site and I ordered there. Probably not the cheapest, but hey had all 3 sizes. Drivers came shipped direct from Germany, and even though they charged me list price on the drivers, shipping wasn't much!

Dave, Nice drivers!

Do you know if the soft finish ones are still made in Germany? I know they used to be.

Also, what do you think of the Wiha vs Witte screwdrivers?

Thanks

Yes!

As far as I know all the Wiha drivers are German made.

I have one or two of those soft finish drivers myself, and I saw a load recently at my electrical supplier. All definitely made in Germany.

Wiha pliers are outsourced (Vietnam or somewhere) but they still seem to be decent. Certainly much better than the average Taiwanese!

I havn’t seen many Witte drivers, though they make for so many people you never know! I’ve got quite a few Wiha and they are all decent. I’d say those Witte I’ve seen are certainly as good, but I don’t like their handles with the soft inserts.

PB Swiss are better than either, but a bit too good for a road box!

Nice wrenches, aren't they?
Additonally to the super torque AAEW I have labeled as Facom (USAG has them, too) I bought some long wrenches, torx wrenches, half moon wrenches, impact sockets and nut buster sockets, ratchets, t-handles and breaker bars.

Besides the breaker bar and the ratchets which I do not like because of the flexing of head and handle (bb) and not satisfying mechanism (ratchet) I am very pleased to buy this Taiwanese bargains.

Very good value!

This is correct. I own several (~50) screwdrivers of all sorts from Wiha. Every screwdriver is made in Germany.
The pliers are made in Vietnam, this is correct - except for the (in my opinion bad) Inomic series. These are made in Germany.

Anyone know where I can find more Wiha drivers like this blue T15x80? I'm not sure if I've ever seen any others with the blue plastic hard handle and black oxide shank. :headscrat

At the moment Amazon have a number of the slotted version of these, some at very low prices. Wiha only list the pozidrivers now, so I guess they have been largely discontinued.

33% price hike after I bought these. Yikes.

I am not exactly sure why them pliers are worth $46 to begin with, let alone $62. I bought one few years ago for about as much as you paid for it and used it maybe once or twice. It's good quality, but it is not worth that much for me.

The circlip pliers normally does very simple job so I bought them at lowest price as possible. I paid $2.5 for this chinese AK-8328 (internet image). The 90* version is about 3 usd.

On some slower moving items Amazon's logarithm reduces the price in increments. If someone pulls the trigger it goes back up to the original price and the process starts over again. There does seem to be a stop loss set to 1/ 3 retail on more expensive things actually in stock and sold by Amazon.

Let me be the first to announce that Hazet finally managed to introduce a regular head sized 1/2" fine toothed ratchet: 916HP

LINK

They also changed the design of their assistent range and renewed their homepage. I am very hyped about the ratchet. I am waiting for this a long time:bounce::bounce::bounce:
I wish I could make a trip over to cologne for the "Eisenwarenmesse 2018".

Hope my english isnt too bad?

Hazet long T15 torx.

Hard to find quality long torx drivers in the uk. Had to pay nearly £18 (20 euro) with shipping. Hope it lasts longer than the cheap Hilka it's replacing. No coo markings so not sure if it's made in Germany. My bread however is clearly marked.

How about some new world tools for the old world? Just noticed reichelt.de is also selling Klein tools.
Anyone from Europe tried their screwdrivers/pliers? Not tempted myself as pricing seems high compared to qualty European offerings readily available locally.

Looks nice, although the handle looks different then what I am used to from Hazet.

But Stahlwille (long 1/4" !!!) was faster with these:

-clickable preview-

I have them with the standard toothing and full metal handle - my favourite ratchets.
Easy to clean.

I am not sure yet if I like the handle design. I dont like quick release ratchets, I like to "hold" and push on the other end of the square drive. So they never were an option for me. Sadly you probably won´t be able to interchange the mechanism with older ratchets :(

Still don't like the 2K-Handles on Hazet Ratchets.

I love them no problems

FWIW, the ODM on those pliers is Schmitz, and they sell directly for less.
I've wanted to sample a tool from that company, so the pliers' ODM is good to know. Buying direct would most probably be the least expensive way to purchase multiple tools, but the €19.90 shipping for one tool would have made this particular purchase more expensive than what I paid.

I didn't know they were still doing the high flat rate shipping. I ended up buying 4x at once, so the shipping wasn't bad.

They ODM for a lot of other companies too, such as CK Tools, Bernstein, Ohm, and NWS for example (the yellow & black ESD grips). Given you're in the EU, I think Ohm may be the least expensive means of getting a single tool (assuming they carry the model you're after). So at least there's alternate sources. ;)

Hope this helps. :)

If I was starting a new collection, I definitely would. All are useful sizes.

"yourtoolssuck" is that you?

It's about time Stahlwille came out with a "modern" flex-head ratchet. They look good!

Facom S151B. Haven't seen much pictures from these new style Facoms so thought I'll post a few. Sorry for bad lighting.

I wasn't really expecting that kind of finish, the texture on it is quite rough. Handle has "ITALY" stamped on it.

Here it is compared to my old J161R 3/8 ratchet

View media item 81388
View media item 81389
Ratcheting action is no where near as nice as it is in 3/8 ratchet. I would be curious to know is it some how different in the s161b model. It seems to have bit smoother finish, but i would suppose that the internals are similar. It's easy to believe that this is the "original" 72 tooth ratcheting system.

Haven't put any use on it, but we'll see how this performs.
