Yeah,Awesome to see that is made in Germany. I'd looked at that, but the multi function of it had steered me away. its too often that a tool that is designed to do it all, isn't great at doing it all. So I was trying to stick with a dedicated rotary hammer. I ended up switching to the Bosch Bulldog 1 1/8 SDS Plus, as its made in Germany.
I did speak with a metabo person from marketing for their USA branch whom I've spoken to in the past about issues concerning warranty and the gear casing defects on their drills. He recommended I give the drill a try and that it was a great tool, and I said the best way for us as consumers to encourage companies like Metabo to continue making their tools in countries that pay a living wage to workers and hopefully create quality products was to return tools like this. If they can't sell them, they'll stop making them. So slow boat back to China is where I sent it (actually just Amazon returns).

Thanks for the pics !!Visited my home town this weekend so took the opportunity to go in Machine Mart which has been there as long as I can remember.
Maybe Atlas Copco. I think the yellow industrial tools are from hungary, don´t know about the black ones:Are there any good air hammers from the old world out there? The ones I see (i.e. Hazet) are looking more like cheap toys (compared to those badass SnapOns)
I´m almost sure there is metal under the plastic. The Bulldog is a top of the class SDS. I was also thinking to buy the Bosch and only reason was that the gearbox was not alu/ mag.

Awesome.
Sadly, they would probably be stolen in <24hrs in Australia.

Any reason why magnetic sockets aren't commonplace?![]()
Stanley Fatmax awl. 5mm diameter. Square tapered but the very tip is cut more rounded and very sharp. For wood and soft materials. One thing I noticed while taking pics that I hasn't been an issue using Stanley drivers at work on a flat bench is that there is no part of the handle design that stops these from rolling away. Made by Bost in France.
Facom R.210RC 1/4 locking extension picked up from Machine Mart.
Would be interested to know who makes this as the chrome is different from other Facom tools I have seen. My Facom sockets are polished. Had a old 1/2 ratchet that had a smooth satin finish. This is quite textured similar to Stahlwille or Gedore. Not suggesting it's German, just a similar finish. With no COO it's probably China or Taiwan I guess.

Magnetic sockets (the non-spring-loaded kind) will not engage the nut as the stud protrudes through)
I would suggest looking into Ko-ken nut-grip sockets. They come in various styles: standard, semi-deep, deep, extra-deep, and on swivel sockets.
According to Facom, COO on this item is France. Only the R.215RC is Taiwan.
These arrived today. ( $340 AUD, plus $149 AUD shipping ; the exchange rate has seriously curtailed my purchasing).
Very nice indeed. How did you manage to get these delivered to Australia?
