Here are pictures of some tools I received yesterday. I am working on obtaining the full 258 BMW tool assortment set from HAZET. I have about 2/3 of the tools so far, but I am desperately seeking a HAZET 8816GK with black handle and black metal change lever. If anyone has a new one for sale let me know.

Here are pictures of the HAZET and the GEDORE pliers. Both are very nice.:bounce:

HAZET and GEDORE ratchets. Notice that the GEDORE ratchet has the handle backwards (i.e. the Gedore logo is on the opposite side :headscrat).

Unfortunately the plan to use the dust guard with 3M clean + strip discs don`t work because the discs are too high so the dust extraction don`t work

Puntb4032.jpg

@Hazet:
wow very nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like those chrome plated Hazet pliers !!!! bling bling !!! :D
A Gedore ratchet in the US ? Very exotic !! :D ;) How do you like the ratcheting ?? Smooth huh ??
ps: took a pic of my Gedore ratchets. The inscription is on top . Somebody at the factory must have slept.... :) :shocking: But there is a large "Gedore" forged into the beam on top so it wouldn`t bother me :) ;) ;)

Here's two other Taiwanese scissor/shear manufacturers worth a mention: Bor Sheng and All Pro

Monte, thanks for the pictures. ..and unfortunate about the 3M pad not being compatible. Perhaps modify it so that you have longer 'whiskers'? ;)

Wow, that's an interesting tool, something I've never seen until now...perhaps because I don't look at welding related tools.

Is that a commonly available tool?

The "edge setter"/punch tool is quite common, you`ll find it in catalogs usually in the automotive special tools section. The "Tama" tool original from Tama or a copy you`ll find from Gedore, Ks-Tools, Facom, Sauer Werkzeuge, Elora (pic below), Clarke, Sealey, SW-Stahl, NWS (4 styles) and others. Hazet + Stahlwille use different tools, 1 plier for punching and one for bending (probably made by Hazet since they have 3 versions each versus 2 each from Stahlwille). "Wurth" offers both versions. I wanted to make sure i receive the original so coincidentally I found it at a exhibition/fair last wednesday and bought it direct from the danish dude at the Tama booth (for 40€) :) Prices range from 40.- to 217.- € (Facom) for the same tool. (copy/original)

gr_1644-20.jpg

Hazet + Stahlwille version.
There also was a "Dako" brand version part no. "301" and "302". The older Hazet versions had clear yellow handles (pics will follow)
Hazet also offers this "countersink" tool for rivets which is based on the same tool.

Waaaaay back in page 42 I posted this one, which is exactly like yours, Wizard. One of the moderators on this board, bmwpower, said he has the same one that was in a BMW auto kit (at least that's what I believe he was saying).

Just as I suspected. FELO does make some of the Screwdrivers for HAZET. I think the new HAZET 802 are made by FELO exclusively for HAZET.

FELO

Felo's "SMART" design really intrigues me :). Particularly the set depicted below...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E64RB8/?tag=atomicindus08-20

It seems like a perfect mobile tool set for an enduro or dirtbike. For $70, I am very tempted to buy a set :D

Does anyone know if Felo contracts another tool company for the 1/4in sockets or ratchet?

I seem to recall seein that set at my local Brafasco store some time ago. It was in their front showcase, along with some other Felo tools. I looked at the ratchet and socket through the glass, but wasn't enticed into seeing it up close. It seemed generic in the sense that it looked imported. Not that that's bad, but I'd rather have a set that's complete with EU-made tools. :D

I agree that the ratchet does look like a generic Asian import as well :lol:.

While I am not familiar with EU's Country of Origin laws, the ratchet handle is imprinted with "Germany" while the SMART handle reads "Made in Germany" :(

Nice car tools here !!
@wizard: what does the pliers in the middle say ? "HAPEWE" ?

Like you guys already thought i also think the Felo ratchet and probably the sockets are imported. The Price seems too low for "made in Germany" and the design looks taiwanese too. The "germany" on the handle is only problematic for them if someone sue them...

I can vouch that the screwdriver is German made and very high quality (regular FELO tool) :), but the ratchet and sockets are not German made :(. My brother bought it from Amazon and returned it soon afterwards. It is small though and relatively inexpensive though.

@monte and other forum experts living in Europe...

For auto body sanding and refinishing purposes, do shops in europe use mostly air sander or electric sanders?....i have seen some nicely designed electric orbital sanders from european tool manufacturers....

if any pictures are available from shops, could you please post them?

thanks..

@american lockpicker:
I`m not sure if Proxxon manufacture these tools, on a mini carbide bur Proxxon set the name "Meisinger" was on the inner case. They produce carbide/steel/diamond burs and other "mini" tools for the dental technology etc. Here is a overview of the carbide burs: click. Other Proxxon tools also look like "Meisinger" tools ( Corundum abrasives/mounted points,polishing tools etc.) so i stay with Proxxon accessories in "dental quality". Some Dremel accessoires are from USA and Israel but most are from even farther away.....

btw. Nice multi tools !!
i dont`t have any, but here is one from germany :)
Frosch/Frog tool

@baubau:
electric tools are quite common here, more than air tools, but it depends where you look. Since a body shop needs a compresssor to run the paint guns and dry blow guns for water based paint you also see a lot air sanders here. If you look through the windows of those shops you can see "Festool" sanders very often.
Another brand which you see sold at car parts/tools distributors next to Festool is Rupes from Italy. Both companies also sell these "air stations" to hook up the sanders and also have adequate vacums. Both have a wide range of electric sanders so thats probably why you see them often (Festool "Rotex" etc.)

Well, what do you know. The euro financial market is in free-fall today. Maybe some of us Omericans can actually afford some Euro toolage in the near future, provided our own government leaves us with any money to spend...

The Löwe cutters are actually pretty good to cut soft material like hoses or sealing material etc.

Monte,

Thanks for sharing pictures of your Beta cable tie tensioning tool. I never knew such a tool existed before today. I like the last 3 pictures showing the tool in action.
