I had it in my head that they were a manufacturer or at least used to be but you may be right. It would explain the lack of interest outside of the UK. Do you know who makes their 'red line' pliers? The forged 'Germany' is quite distinctive.
It looks like the serration peaks on the upper jaw fit precisely into the serration valleys on the lower jaw of the needle nose whereas the other combination pliers are peak to peak. Is that right? Looks like it might be ideal for thin wire.

Seems like the pictures got messed up in my last post. Here they are again in case they're not showing up for people.Love the Hazet cabinet and tools!
Recently picked up a long handled 1/2" Stahlwille ratchet, model 532G. It has 36 teeth and a sealed head. Feels great and quite sturdy, but certainly not the best back drag of the ones I've tried. Nothing else so far comes close to the zero back drag of the Gedore ratchet.
The handle is detachable, where I presume longer and shorter handles can be swapped, though I can't find any in their catalogue. Maybe it's just for easier storage? The detachment mechanism allows a little radial play in the handle, though I can't see that ever being a problem. The grip is more comfortable than it looks.
Also shown next to my other old world 1/2" ratchets for comparison, from shortest to longest.

Do they make a torque wrench handle for it? Seeing the decapitated ratchet head reminds me of this:

very handy because you can use a ratcheting head or fixed head (plus others if you spend the $$ which I never have done)
I received this today
Stahlwille 512QR
Brand new Old stock for a good price
But i think something is weird with this ratchet
If you take a closer look, the quick release knob and the back cap is not dead center to the head body.
I dont know if its bad product, fake, or maybe quality check error. Although i don't think the last option is true
No problem in mechanismTry the ratchet by tightening a bolt very tight and then check that the ratchet has not stuck, I.e. the ratcheting is still ok.
I had a couple that I had to return after the mechanism in them got stuck.

You see correct. The jaws are interlocking so to say. They really have put many small extra functions into these pliers jaws.
No problem in mechanism
Only visual and precision abnormal LOL

Thank youWelcome back Monte!!!!
Thank you for your words !Monte: I agree that you were missed!! Welcome back cause this thread especially has always been better with you at the helm even though several good members did keep it going while you were gone.
Cheers
Won’t: I mentioned it on your vintage thread and I’ll say it again here that your old Hazet collection is awesome.
Old ones from AEG, Metabo, KEF, Rema, Flott...@Monte: I would ask you by private message, but your inbox is full.
I am searching for a good bench grinder for my shop.
What would you choose between a Bosch - GBG 60-20 (600 W) and a Bernardo DS 200 S (three phase, 1250 W). The price is the same.
Or can you recommend something else?
Thanks!
What's happened to Monte ? This thread has an incredible 13 million views but he last checked in on 09-25-2018
Resting perhaps...
That´s closerOr he is working 24x7 to pay for the tools[emoji16].
I found it on ebay.de for a good price..... It´s quite silent (Fan motor is from a german makeHi Monte, I am interested to buy a Frico 5 kW heater like yours, I want to know its price and where to buy, here, in France, I can´t find it, In Holland, my COO, neither. Important for me: does it make much noise? (I like Pabst fans however!) Tnx
The Matador hammer most likely is from HKR: http://www.hkr-werkzeuge.de/en/plastic-hammers.htmlA couple new hammers, both made in Germany.
I like the feel of the Matador hammer. The handle is nicely contoured and it feels well balanced.
The Bahco feels like it's a bit too weighty at the base of the handle, which makes it a little harder to swing. It also has an uneven finish. The laquer feels too thick and it's not well sanded in a couple areas.
yay, Monte!

All of the Bosch hand tools are from china. They do look nice though.Interesting. Thanks for the info!
On a different topic, does anyone know anything about the Bosch Professional pliers? They're currently 15% off on Amazon.de, but I can't find any info anywhere online about them other than the reviews on Amazon.de. Does anyone know who makes these, where they're made, how the quality stacks up to other known German plier brands like Knipex, VBW, NWS, etc.?
afaik israelNeeded small level for portable toolbox, found this one for good price![]()
Does anyone know where Kapro spirit levels are made?
The Elora pliers are made by http://www.otra-zangen.com/index.php/en/standard-pliers(I suspect Elora does their own handles. I can't imagine VBW letting that kind of handle finish quality leave their works.)
yes , thanks !Hi, Monte! I hope all is well!
Some wrenches seem to have "Germany" on them...Hi monte, is wagener from germany?
Picked up these E.A. Berg No. 2528 offset or bent-nose dykes at the flea market today. Only the second Berg pliers I have ever found in the wild. The others are dykes, too, No. 1525, only 4 inches long, with the shark logo and a 1947 date stamp on the inside of the handle, posted on this thread back in March of this year, linked here. These have no shark logo and no date stamp, unfortunately.

not sure what these are for so i'll post them and maybe one of you know.
wood handled with metal ends that look like cutters or scrapers.
Paint scrapers or ???

The Bahco hammer is a Belzer design.
Oh, thanks. The handles look like they'd be solid and comfortable, but the pliers themselves I thought looked a little cheap. They have that light-duty, boxy design around the joint thatI've seen on the cheaper Orbis pliers that I don't really like, which is why I ended up passing on them. All of the Bosch hand tools are from china. They do look nice though.

ALL: since I don't always see tools from your side of the world I usually pick them up if they are a decent price even if i'm not sure what they are used for.

Wish I could find some used Geilo screwdrivers with the red old style handle. Well, I a not going to say no to brand new ones either.
Get a little nostalgic after moving almost half around the globe. And a guy need tools.

you´re rightYou're just back to inspect the damage you have done to everyones wallets...![]()
nice collection21 pair of needle nose pliers, all old world except for that one pair of Channellock.

Sorry i have not tried themLooks like HKR makes screwdrivers as well. I like the simplicity of their acetate handled drivers. I wonder how they compare to Witte, Athlet, Facom, Oplast, or others. Has anyone tried the HKR screwdrivers?
Flippin' 'eck! it's Monte.![]()
