Servus, folks,
Wow, as usual, lot's of great contributions. In particular, I like those Nepros and Facom tools.
@chreese:
wow nice pics !!! how did you do that

??
Thanks. My brother ((almost) a professional photographer - he hasn't finished his apprenticeship, yet) took those pics. High quality pics of other tools will follow.
@Monte:
What opinion do you have about the tools of KS tools
Last year, I bought a few tools from KS Tools: LokPlus extensions, a manual impact driver, a set of short spiral screw extractors and a set of external extractors.
The LokPlus extensions didn't work properly. Several sockets of different brands (Berner, Stahlwille, Gedore, Proxxon etc.) didn't fit. I got Stahlwille QuickRelease extensions instead and couldn't be happier.
I tested the impact driver and that one should be ok.
I used one of the short spiral screw extractors once and was satisfied with its performance. I was able to remove the damaged screw while the regular screw-type screw extractor failed.
Since I haven't used the external extractors, yet, I can't comment on them.
My personal conclusion: I would buy special tools that are hard to find from other companies from KS Tools if they are reasonably priced. I would also buy KS Tools products if they are noticeably cheaper than *comparable* tools from other manufacturers. But as for "regular tools" (such as sockets, wrenches, ratchets, pliers etc.) I will opt for brands such as Stahlwille, Hazet, Gedore, Knipex etc. that seem to offer higher quality.
Is the new handle better ? I'm assuming the blue part is soft ?
I've been looking at the new Gedore ratchet but found out they are higher priced then the Hazet ones at the moment.
If you could use another 1/2" socket set, you might contemplate the
Gedore anniversary socket set. A great investment for approx. EUR 100 to 110.
-the good thing abot KS is that they have a tool catalog with more than 900 pages of tools, so I don`t think anybody else (Toptul etc.) can beat that.
The catalogue is impressive, indeed, but there are no prices mentioned. I was glad that KS Tools sent me a printed catalogue (a buddy of mine only got a CD-ROM), nevertheless I would have appreciate a price list. Besides, (more or less) important information that other companies provide is missing in the KS Tools catalogue. For example, the dia of sockets is not mentioned in the KS Tools catalogue.
BTW, there are new
Hoffmann and
Hahn+Kolb promos. What do you think about the Atorn clamps on page 22 (
HK Nachrichten 02/2010)? Are they made by Turnus?
I found the Hazet 1/4" Hinox socket set for EUR 159 + VAT. Would you get it for that price even if you did not need it (right now)?
