i'm also searching for a nice interchangeable long-blade solution.

i like that wiha centrofix handle. you can put long blades in there, and there's virtually zero wobble.

but if you didn't already buy the centrofix, i'd wait a bit (Q2 2021 i've heard) for this to come out:

PB-Rol-Fix.jpg

pb swiss insider 3 with rolgear "ratcheting" (smooth roller-bearing) mechanism and the wiha centrofix holder. with hex bolster.

but since i already have the old wiha centrofix handle... next time pb swiss goes on sale here, i'm buying some long E6 blades (E6L) and making a set out of it. i have this combo pictured in this thread:

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=468842

there are some other interesting options in that thread including the felo smart set:

i forgot to ask back then when i made that thread, but does anyone know how the blade wobble is on felo smart set?

looks pretty cool. hard to say what i'd like more overall between that and my wiha centrofix with pbswiss E6L blades, but since i already own the centrofix, i think that's what i'm going with for now.

i have the pb insider 3 (6510 R-30) and have tried it with E6 bits (power bits). there is some wobble, but it's not too bad unless it is a long bit. i would say that 2" bit is usable.

apologies for replying to a 1+year old post...

oops i realized i can't post links. but you can search amazon.de for baolida schraubendreher

^ where are the 'Forum' clamps made, Monte?

(btw: that Bessey clamp above looks like some serious genius stuff... does that gizmo do what I think it does? three directions at once?)
The Forum clamps look identical (except handle) to the "Bessey Classix" clamps. The Würth clamps (below) are Bessey Classix too i think. coo: Germany
Yes the gizmo does what you think it does :)
New Paoli wheel guns for this year’s Super GT season. 3800 Nm at 25 bar.

Clamping down on the forum are you ?

Does anyone know if the Stahlwille feeler gauges are made in Germany. I bought them as made in Germany but I am always suspicious if it doesn't say on them, which they dont.

The exact ones are 11097/26 SW1109

Brockhaus Heuer vice in Spain

I'm visiting Spain for about 2 weeks in May and would like to take the opportunity to buy a Heuer Front 140 Vice - all other shopping be damned (and the Mrs will be furious to know i'm filling up my luggage with a 15Kg lump of steel LoL) but this is my best chance as shipping cost to Dubai is going to kill me otherwise.

Does anybody know where i can buy these Vices in Madrid ? (that's where we will be flying in and out of, but i could always change our travel route to "visit" a city where i can find one).

I did find several German sellers but i guess shipping to Madrid is again going to be expensive for such a heavy item ? I'm awaiting shipping quotes from one of the sellers.

Beta RCS24AXL rollcab incoming here. I'm excited, I will finally be able to tidy the garage with somewhere for all my tools to live.
Its my first toolbox (apart from a couple of cheap small portable 3 draw ones which are taking up too much bench space) and it took my ages to chose which one to get. I'll post a picture when it arrives and I have got it loaded up.

Now I am even more suspicious. I realised that the values are different to what was in the listing and catalogue, it only has every second value. The thin feelers also bend up when trying to close them which I haven't seen on the other feeler gauges I have.

every stahwille item ive bought said made in germany on the package and most said the same thing on the item. although i think i have their wrenches that only say germany but the box said made in germany. the kctool site shows 11097/26 as being made in germany and the photo shows germany stamped in the side. if yours have no marking maybe it counterfit

I’ve done the same thing to several F clamps and old locking pliers, much more cost effective than buying the purpose built variants
yes much cheaper.... the 16mm adaptor is only 1,90 € over here.... s+h incl.....locking c-clamps would be a nice addition...

just picked this up today.
Gressel AX 160 offset bench vise, made in Switzerland. 160mm jaws, weight 29.8 kg.

not common to see in the states, so i had to pick it up. this one looks like it was private labeled for Schunk (lathe chuck company). it is beautifully machined and finished. the tag appears to say 2021.

edit: I looked at Gressel's website

since mid-2014, Gressel has operated as a division of Schunk GmbH & Co. KG of Germany, makers of lathe chucks and other gripping devices. so, i was incorrect in my original post.

Got some older (made in France) Facom 41 offset combination wrenches in 14, 15, and 19 mm.
[The box is from NS.1600F impact wrench in 1/2. Quite powerful for its size. No COO on this one.]

I am really starting to like the DIN 3113 Form B wrenches with that deep offset. Sure you can't flip them as easy as the more typical DIN 3113 Form A style but for me I have more success with the Facom 41/Stahlwille style 14. Just wish you could get them in SAE or at least in larger SAE sizes.

where did you procure the Bachert items and do you know of any contact information for the company?

Few information about Bachert.

This company was founded in 1946 and ended operations in 1996. Bachert is OEM manufacturer for BMW E36 lug wrench.

Most items in pictures are NOS.

Gedore carries that style wrench in SAE sizes and they go up to the 2" range.

BMI spirit levels - bought two since the pricing was great compared to the el cheapo branded and no brand stuff available here 78DBD01D-25EA-4E04-B36C-04D663C3091D.jpeg

Funnily enough the BMI measuring tape doesn’t state COO except for the company address… is this still made in Germany ?

The large 8mtr Fisco tape measure is a pleasure to use.. smooth and just the right amount of drag

Wanted to buy a few long screw driver bits that I can use with the Metabo drill and considered vessel and Hazet but in the end decided to go with Wera since I like their design as well as quality from the Joker wrenches I’ve been using so far.

Nice. Looks very similar to Gedore's hammers. Are they from the same mfg?

I doubt that this BMI tape is made in Germany looks like one of the generic standard models from idk where.
I have one of their more accurate ones (class I) which says made in Germany.

The BMI Viso 3M tape I have doesn’t list COO, but I recall the packaging listing made in Germany.

Bahco and Stahlwille purchases

Motor 10 open end spanners Stahlwille - I love the finish of these as well as the Stabil 20 DBE spanners, however the thin beams on the Motor 10 spanners are a concern but only if one is bearing down on them, which I doubt you can do since they are not long enough.

For example, The 18x19 is only around 210mm long and I doubt you would be used this to tighten / loosen an M15 bolt probably torqued to 90-100Nm. The right application for these open end spanners would be to hold fasteners in place while the other end is being tightened either by an impact tool or by a spinner handle.

The Bahco combi square is ok-ish in quality of finish and feel. I didn’t know that they were made in China 👎🏼

I can also contribute a few new euro tools.

First a Boehm interlocking hollow punch set. I wanted one for long but couldn‘t justify it. Now I just pulled the trigger… i know them for long from work so I can say they are great.

CC5D550A-C8C4-46F5-BAAE-43712D24907A.jpeg

Additionally for the sake of having all sizes I bought a set of Stahlwille open box 16. the 3,2mm one has some flaws in the chrome but for the price I paid no complaints

Now you need some open box 14's; Got this not too long ago for 82eur shipped.

I thought this was the best value as to price and number of tools (and fabric case which I really needed), 8-22mm

Hi everyone.

This is the first set I bought about 10 years ago, paid about $50 in today's money, which was expensive for me at the time: Stanley 75 piece. Not very strong or well built, but it has everything I needed.

main_img_p2110-1900x1900origin.jpg

I used to think it was the bees' knees so after a friend lost some stuff and we broke an adapter while hammering the impact gun, I got another one for $90 just before they got discontinued.

I opened the ratchets today and there wasn't any dirt inside, great job me for minding them, but they don't look very serviceable. Just one big chunk. Lubed them up and they sound great though.

If you stay in the forum for a bit you'll realize Stanley isn't the greatest of tools. If you stay more, your wallet will be a lot lighter...

Hi everyone. I've been watching this thread for a while but never posted anything.
A restoration of Facom S set could be an appropriate start, I guess?:)

It was in quite a bad shape.
01.jpg02.jpg03.jpg
Then restore from inside.

The added slot is for S141.

The box took me a long time...
