I put an order in for some Williams goodies. We'll see how they deliver; I'm always looking for competition for my tool dollars...

The key to smooth ordering from them is to order items maked as ships in one day. that usually means it's in stock. Other dates or special order items take alot longer than the 2-3 days I get my orders from them in.

I placed my order with them on Friday (8/12) and I received my shipment today (8/15) already! I did make sure all the items I was ordering were marked "Ships Within 1 Business Day" so I wouldn't have to wait on other items I may order later that are marked "Special Ordered".

Ordering was smooth and I received a tracking number. I highly recommend them and I will no doubt be buying more from them. They even gave me a BIG J. H. Williams catalog! (Pictured in the first picture under the tools.)

I like that the website is simple, fast, and has important features like being able to recalculate shipping as you add/remove items.

My order:

Williams WRS-1 Ratcheting Screwdriver 9"

Williams M-110 1\4" Drive Extension 10"

Williams M-106A 1\4" Drive Spinner Handle

Williams MM-605.5 1\4" Drive 5.5mm Metric Socket

(All Made in U.S.A.)

Can you offer a free shipping promotion on orders over a certain $ value? That would sweeten the deal for many of us...

Here's my take: I ordered a set of Williams SAE Flare Nut Wrenches from Toolsdelivered.com. Order in on Monday night, and wrenches in hand Wednesday when I arrived home after work.

That is great service in my book (I should know - I'm a Customer Service Account Manager). I was also supplied with an invoice complete with contact info where I can reach an human as well as a huge (half a phone book thick) catalog.

The only gripe I have is probably my own fault. I was trying to buy Made in the USA, and if I had paid attention to my order I would have realized that this particular set was Made in Taiwan. Warranty is still the same and I have to admit that the tools appear to be complete serviceable and fit the fasteners better than my old Craftsman wrenches do.

Here's the link for the exact set I ordered:

http://www.toolsdelivered.com/Williams-11690-Hand-Tools-Wrenches-Flare-Nut-SAE-Sets

It's pretty obvious when looking at the picture using the zoom function that the wrenches do not have a Made in the USA stamp and there is not statement stating as such. The fault was mine for assuming they were.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents from a happy customer of Toolsdelivered.com

Williams does have a USA made set of SAE line wrenches, I believe. But I don't think they have metric USA line wrenches.

How can you tell where they are manufactured ? I am looking at the 1/2 inch 12 point sets. I dont want china tools. If they are USA , I would give them a go.

Williams tools with the new smiley logo on them are China-made. Almost all Williams tools made in the USA are stamped USA. Dual-80 style ratchets are an exception. It's all good quality though, wherever it's made, better than anything you'll find at Sears in my opinion.

I'd also like to say that they've definitely earned my repeat business. Extremely fast shipping on in-stock items.

just to circle back to this thread... i have since placed two orders through toolsdelivered.com for williams products and now that i know what to expect, i'm satisfied with dealing with them. i'm not sure if they changed their policy regarding charging CC's immediately even when things aren't in stock, but that is/was a big pet peeve of mine. their site is now more clear about things being in stock which is a nice improvement.

and really, most importantly, the tools are excellent. i haven't been disappointed with a williams piece yet - screwdrivers, both ratcheting and non, 11" needle nose pliers (45 and straight), 1/4 bit -> 3/8 impact adapter, various socket extensions, and a short set of hex keys. all excellent quality and reasonably priced. hell, i got a 24" 1/4 extension for $11 which i think is pretty damn reasonable.

they also sent me a (huge) paper williams catalog in which every applicable item is clearly marked made in USA if COO is of concern to you, has good pictures, and clear part numbers.

Well based on the positive comments here, and the good prices from them, I just placed a Williams screwdriver order (slotted, phillips, electricians sets). Been putting off getting them for awhile, but we'll see next week. While the website was generally well laid out, the checkout did manage to royally piss me off a few times (the fuse is REALLY short today).

I am a registered and bonded importer as well. I have run this business for nearly ten years.

Tell your security consultant that she assisted you in making terroristic threats against me.

You wouldn't think that a Rover shop might have a lawyer or two as a client now do you.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling.

BTW-I have spent thousands of dollars per year on tools, your sleuths ought to be able to prove it, it's on my tax returns.

Sadly, since you seem to have such great sales skills, guess from whom I will not be buying tools. Had you not made veiled threats to me, I might have considered buying from you but now,I think I'll just call management and tell them a person who claims to represent the company feels it is appropriate to make such veiled threats.

I'm surprised your security consultant didn't find that I'm formerly a Federal Firearms Licensee and that I have a lifetime concealed carry permit.

I still find the practice of hiding information to be something that only people who have something to hide do.
 Get over yourself. What say you run your buisiness and let them run theirs

This isn't a 100% fact, but I do believe that all the part numbers that are 5-digits (IE: All Numbers) are imported. If it has letters, or is broken up into parts with a hyphen it is USA.

I hope I'm wrong but, I've got a feeling that they're not coming back. They've been shut down for at least a week and they don't have anything listed on Ebay.

Tried calling the 877 number listed on one of my invoices. Granted it is a Sunday but they had an automated device answering the phone. Seems like they are still in business.

Sure glad I ordered my Williams stuff from them several weeks ago.

They're moving warehouses.

Give it a few days, a move like that can take some time.

I need a couple of Williams items myself, but, if they don't resurface, I'll just go with SK or Wright instead.

Sorry... a big pi**ing contest erupted when several users (myself included) opined that Toolsdelivered.com should have a street address and telephone number on their web site.

For business reasons (largely related to perceived security issues) Toolsdelivered.com does not choose to do it and therefore I will not be posting the phone number here.

Why does a warehouse move constitute a website being pulled down? Something is amiss girls.

It's a really common practice for small businesses or start-ups, when they've outgrown their initial facilities. The logistics tend to be too complicated for smaller outfits selling at low margins to handle with the customer service level they otherwise strive for. I'm not saying it's the best practice, but it's certainly not uncommon for to shut-down internet sales during such a move.

New sellers = Lotsa outa stock because it is a shipping portal; ie. when the order is placed the order is placed.

Might NOT be the case with this company, but on-hand inventory is expensive to keep on the shelves - order+order is much cheaper.

Love to hear more about this seller!

This.

Even if their website is hosted, if they aren't able to process orders in the office, it can appear to many customers that their order is being ignored.

They posted a note on their website indicating they were moving and would be back in a few days.

Regardless of why they took the site down, it certainly better than leaving customers hanging in the interim, especially if they have little or no control over when the order will be processed due to the move.

I'm not defending their situation, but I'd rather see a notice the site will be down for a few days than placing an order and hearing nothing.

I've dealt with Tools Delivered a couple of times and things went smoothly with both orders. It's not like I'm buying heart medicine from them, so if I wait a few days it's no big deal.

I'd just as soon they wait until things are in place to handle orders the same way they have in the past.

None of the current situation lends itself to promoting speculation or rampant internet paranoia. They're closed a few days until they are ready to process orders again, no biggie. I'm glad to see someone doing well enough to warrant a move to a better location.

I haven't heard of anyone being ripped off, any orders ignored or delayed or any problems at all so I'm going to go with their closed for a few days and will re-open the site when they are ready to process orders.

In the internet world of I want it now and gossip, a few days can seem like an eternity and the speculation can turn into something akin to a bunch of old women sitting around and gossiping about the neighbors.

Hell, they might have been abducted by aliens or are a part of the new world order or know TSHTF is about to happen because they have inside information that mankind is already doomed and they packed up and got the hell out of Dodge... :eyecrazy:

...or they could be closed for a few days because they are moving

Ever try taking and FILLING orders while moving a company ? I have, it's not easy and you end up with pissed off customers that were used to getting their orders within days, now getting them a week or weeks later. They did the right thing, shutting down and leaving a note.

I would guess they're done for.

If they posted any start-stop dates or anything, I would have a little more confidence.

If they ever sent you a catalog, I believe they have a sticker on the front with their number. I need to order some more goodies for work. I'll try calling them later and see what they say.

No answer at their phone number, I don't have the time to kill to drill thru the menus and try to reach someone, but when pressing zero, it led me to "interstate tool and equipment corp" menus.
The number I have on my catalog is 1-877-665-8661
