I think I've ordered twice without any problems. They used to have free shipping over $75, now it's $99.
As I'm writing this I just figured out how to send a message/email to ask a question. I'll see what kind of response I get.
IIRC when I called by phone before I didn't have any problems.
Their prices are pretty good too

Top notch, highly recommended. Even with free shipping my orders arrive NEXT DAY or two days after ordering, depending on the time of day that I complete the order. Admittedly, I like close to them, so UPS ground gets it to me the day after they pickup the package from Tooltopia...but still, Tooltopia ships very quickly. Everything is always well-packed, as well.

Lauren's daily deals are not nearly as good this month as last month...hopefully they'll continue into August and improve.

btw, Tooltopia's site search is flaky at best. If there is somthing specific you want from them, you can consider doing a Google search using Tooltopia as the site, as in "site:tooltopia.com 2135" to look for an IR 2135 impact wrench.

Great site and like others here I have spent well into the thousands with them. The only fault so far is being able to track your order after the purchase. They have some serious issues that they HAVE NOT fixed.

Your order might come in from multple vendors in multiple shipments. You have no idea what item was shipped within a box, if an item was shipped or even if there IS a shipment. My email shipping notifications sometimes come AFTER the delivery, and even if it doesn't come after the delivery, it DOES NOT tell me what is coming.

I had some wrench racks that I ordered back in March, were back ordered and came in 3 weeks ago. Nothing was sent to me about why it was late, when they would ship, when they DID ship or anything. No response from support on emailed questions about them either.

I have never had a problem with the price or the order showing up but they are NOT very informative to their customers after the sale. I still buy from them but I do wish they would be more responsive on shipping issues and order tracking.

Guys,

Don't get me wrong, I like them and still buy a LOT from them (one order came in last week) but the shipping notices are lacking. I have always had multiple packages when ordering 10 or 12 items. They can come in 3 or 4 boxes from GA, NV, MD. PA or other states. It just depends on where they are drop shipped from.

I just got a response within 24hrs. The response was kind of lacking, but at least it was fast.

I've never ordered from them but I might. Their S-K tool prices seem very good.

I used to buy from them until they jerked me around on an order status a few months ago.
They seem to be flaky, just like the economy.
I no longer do business with them.

Bought two Precision Instruments torque wrenches from them. Free shipping. I ordered on a Friday, they arrived the next Tuesday. That is my only dealings with them, but the prices are good and I would not hesitate to order again.

I called PI with a question about one of the torque wrenches (and a couple of comments too) and the tech at PI asked how much I had paid for them, and when I told him he seemed quite surprised. Don't recall exactly what he said, but gave me the idea the prices were near cost on the torque wrenches.

Ken,

Thanks for the link. I was begining to think I was the only person to ever have a problem tracking an order. It looks like everything either goes very well (as most of mine have) or very, very bad (as a few of mine have). They have a great site and even better prices but fail to inform when needed.

As stated above they have the best prices, this one time i ordered a few things, and i went to check the price the next day and they dropped the price on two of the items i ordered, so i emailed them about it. They refunded me the difference.

I recently have had a bad experience with them. I have ordered a few times from them before without any problems.

1) They shipped out a USED defective meter.
2) Their return policy *****. When I told them what happened they told me they had to check with their warehouse first before they could do anything! Took 2 days before they OK'd it and sent return label. I will give them positive feedback for taking care of the shipping.
3) Received 2nd meter and it was new but defective. Same return policy as previous time.
4) I told them I didn't want another and please refund. They did refund......after 3 weeks. Now I can't complain very much because their return policy states it may take 2-4 weeks before you receive a refund.

The overall experience was a giant PITA. The customer service people I talked to were very polite and helpful. I just can't see using them again because I'll be worried about their warehouse sending me someone else's returned junk and then waiting a month to get a refund.

Bottom dollar pricing, and sounds like drop shipping, covers a lot of issues for me. ;)

They just ended a $50+ free shipping promo, back to $99+ for free shipping.

Some time last spring they had a $25 off $100+ discount code, but I haven't seen anything recently.

I've got $108 in my cart right now, going back and forth over what else I might want, or not want that much. Big selection, allows bigger orders, and free shipping saves $20+ over a lot of other sites.

Bad experience - they sent me a used (broken) digital torque wrench. They never responded to numerous e-mail requests for RMA. I finally sent the thing back without an RMA and had to dispute the charge. I'll never buy from them again.

I'm curious. How long ago was that?

That's 2 people that have been sent used tools. Maybe they are not good at checking returns and end up sending some other persons junk out again.

I want to STRESS that I don't think it's a good idea to buy anything electronic or something that is easily damaged in shipping from them!

For the very small amount of $ you save it will cost you in the long run with their poor return policy!!
From the time I ordered until the time I received my refund was about 6 weeks!
The people I talked seemed nice enough but getting hold of someone could be a chore at times and they didn't seem overly concerned when I told them I received a previously used item.
Like someone said in an earlier post they must be dropshipping because their communication with their "warehouse" is awful.

I don't want to only condemn tooltopia because it seems like many internet retailers return policies are questionable. I have found my local prices are not that much higher so I will be buying from them unless I find some super incredible deal that I won't have to be in a hurry for.

If your looking for another good site to order tools from. Etooldirect.com has pricing that is the same and sometimes cheaper than tooltopia, if you email them they will most likely price match as well if you happen to find something cheaper elsewhere. They do free shipping on orders over $99 and every time you place and order you get a $10 off coupon in the ship confirmation email. I have made many orders with them and have never had a single problem. Also, if you find something not list in the site you can email them with the item number and it will be on the site in less than a day. I do believe they also have coupons for bigger orders as well.

Drop shipping means the vendor NEVER sees the item, its shipped directly from a distributor or manufacturer. RMA process can get messy, errors as mentioned can occur.

Savings all the time, vs extra patience needed when they screw up, is ok with me.

I'll consider Etooldirect.com if you post a current coupon. ;) But I have 14 different items in my cart right now, all but one at the lowest price I've seen, and its only $2 more, and most places will only have a few of the items.

For a coupon code try CASH or GRAND for $10 off. There are other coupons for orders over 150, 250, 350 etc which they send in the boxes sometimes. And as i said before if you don't see it on their site just email them the brand and part number and they will put it up asap.

Received my PI torque wrench from them this week. Free delivery, only took 2 days and a smooth transaction overall.
