x2, I've had two great orders from them, FAST shipping even to VT.....toolwarehouse is also a great site, and they usually have 10% coupons floating around.

X3. Ordered in the wee morning hours, we're talking around 3am on a Tuesday. My ordered qualified for free shipping and no sh*t if I wasn't just completely taken by surprise when I had my order the following day, Wednesday.

I figured with free shipping I'd be waiting 5 days maybe even a week. Not less than 2. I'm addicted to the site now like a teenager looking at ****. Keep closing the browser when the wife walks by just so she doesnt see I've found a gold mine. Haha

I had placed 2 orders with them and one had 20+ items and they all were accounted for. The larger order came in 4 packages. Good prices and I also like the free shipping over $100.

Their shipping is ridiculously fast and awesome customer service, swapped a torque wrench no questions asked and did it FAST. Really happy with them. Thetoolwarehouse.net is "OK" but customer service is lacking. I will buy from Tooltopia.com first even if priced a little higher.

Same place.

Tooltopia is a small group of people selling inventory from a couple of the tool warehouse distributors. Place an order with Tooltopia, they turn around and place your order with the distributor, who then drop ships your stuff to you.

That's why many orders come in separate packages, from different locations; different distributors drop shipping to fill a Tooltopia order.

Tooltopia has zero on hand stock, no store front and very few employees. They are order taker and "middle man" all the way.

They do offer OK customer service, but the customer service you (and I) are getting is actually from the tool distributors.

Many online only tool sellers operate in the same way, sell the same stuff and have the same drop ship from distributors capability.

Not a bad racket if you can get into it. Their lifeblood is a functional website and advertising... little else exists.

This being said, Tooltopia has experienced a few bumps in the road in the past. At some point, the principal had to decide to get on the stick or just let it go to hell. It appears they have added a couple of competent people in house at Tooltopia to handle any customer service issues.

This has meant the difference in happy customers and a total fiasco.

As long as things go well with Tooltopia orders; i.e. everyone does what they are supposed to throughout the chain of supply, things go well. If somewhere along the line things get fouled up, the customer service people working at Tooltopia can make the difference between your problem getting sorted out and you getting into a nightmare of an issue.

It has been put forward that unless you kiss their backside, you get a less than enthusiastic response/effort when dealing with problems.

I don't know this to be true, but, I do keep it in the back of my mind when deciding to deal with them or another online source.

I've placed several orders with Tooltopia and luckily things have gone well.

I always check their site when looking for something, but if I can find it close to the same price elsewhere I usually let the order amount dictate who gets my business.

I'm not implying they are bad to deal with, just making the statement I'm always of a mind to try and find a different source if I can, just in case I find myself in the middle of a situation where I need genuine old fashioned customer service.

Tooltopia appears to have improved dramatically in their people skills and customer service. I hope so, but I'm still just a little nervous every time I order from them.

WR250F is right about their practice of business. This is a very, very common business model on the web these days in all kinds of markets. Most computer parts sellers run in an identical fashion. Same with auto parts, rubber stamps and pretty much everything else you can think of. It's easy and cheap to get into and can be very lucrative... when everything operates as it should and you have good people in every step of the chain. But when things go to hell they can really go to hell.

Before I show you what I'm going to show you let me add that I've shopped at Tooltopia dozens of times and everything has been great. I will order from them in the future and I recommend them to friends.

Now, out of curiosity I did a Google Street View of their business address and below is where they operate from. Comical to me, not even a business sign. Good stuff.

I love tooltopia!!! I get by far most of my tools from either them or amazon. I typically make lists of things I want to get and try to group them into lumps of $100+ for that free shipping as tooltopia always has very low base prices to start with. I typically try to go with amazon if I'm buying a single item as there's a good chance you can get free super saver shipping on it. If you can, it's normally significantly lower overall than tooltopia, but if it doesn't offer the free shipping, the two are about the same.

I have never had an issue ordering from either. Tooltopia is awesome for it's selection, base prices, and free shipping on $100+. And amazon is great for it's free super saver shipping if available, and the reviews.

Thank you, very much!

I used to do the same thing from my front bedroom. I had everything drop shipped. Had a rubber stamp made up that said, "Backorders not accepted." That usually sped things up for my "customers".

Let's see... there was the motorcycle parts. Then, the gun parts. Then, the computer parts. Oh, yeah, and the utility trailer sales. It was a totally bogus operation. I never stiffed anyone. I just got tired of the hassle, with all the red tape from government entities... office equipment depreciation, taxes, license fees, and all that ****.

Initially, when I signed up with a distributor, they wanted lots of information, including a picture of my storefront... I'd send them everything, but conveniently forget the picture of the storefront, since there was none. 80% of the time, they would take the bait. No big deal. There are lots of distributors willing to drop ship items for phony businesses.

Speaking of which, I got "the picture" now. LoL!

I'll pass...
