I'm considering the extra-long double box wrenches, but the lack of 13, 15, 16 and 18mm sizes could be a deal breaker. The US market would seem to demand these.

The 10 piece midget combo wrench set arrived today; pretty fast delivery. It comes in a red plastic tray (which fits nicely in my toolbox) wrapped with plastic. The tools are very good quality, equivalent to the Craftsman Professionals. Tried them on a couple of bolts that holds the seat on a BMW M3 and the fit is excellent. With the discount given, it is a excellent buy. :) :)

:flamethro this is what Toptul USA did to me
:monkey_po here's what I got for them
I bought 2 sets of sockets, a rachet, 2 t-handles and a set of torx keys from Toptul USA. The socket sets were just incomplete socket sets individually thrown in a tore up paper sack and stuffed in a box. After contacting the company web site by email and make calls to Brian Dowling the owner I never recieved a return phone call {always got the machine} I still don't have my sockets. This has been ongoing since Feb. I also contacted Toptul in Tiawan and they said they contacted Mr. Dowling but he has still never contacted me. Finally after about a month and 4 or 5 email's back and forth with Mr. Yen in Tiawan he sent an an email saying he would send me 6 sockets and a T-handle to make up for what Mr. Dowling shorted me on my order. BUT! they no longer make sockets in the sizes I was shorted. So he sent me a list of sockets to choose from and said he would send them along with the T-handle I was shorted by express shipping.

That was 3 weeks ago tomorrow. I still havn't recieved anything from them.

The tools look to be of high quality. I have used the ratchet once and it worked fine. I probably won't use thier tools. It pisses me off every time I look at them. I have 4 other socket sets I can use and quite a few ratchets so I really didn't need any of the tools I ordered to begain with.

:headscrat I got sucked in by this thread and thought that with a 50% discount I'd give them a try. :shocking:

Guys... seriously, if you want decent Taiwanese tools, just go to Home Depot and buy Husky - or any of the better Stanley tools.

I sure like the looks of the green handled ratchet sets they offer. I myself just had my shop built and in the process of collecting tools to make my shop ready to work on my cars. I am the type that likes to stick to one brand and get all the tools I can in that brand to complete a set. I would sure like to get their ratchet sets and sockets in all the sizes I need and some of the other tools on their web site. Only thing that worries me is the usa web site does not show the green handled ratchets for sale so I wonder if I can buy them anywhere? Toptul, is there an avenue for someone like myself to buy a collection of sets from you but in the flavors we like or just what is on the USA web site? I just prefer nice rubber or plastic handles on my ratchets and not straight steel. The thicker green handles on the ratchets look slick and I am going for both looks and function.

Thanks

tj

*I wonder if the 50% of deal is still an option???

hmmmm. I have sent a number of emails to Toptul from their website and zero answers so far and also PMed Toptul here but no answers. Bummer!

Is the USA distributor a small company? I would expect some-kind of answers within a day or two but nothing so far and they do not have a phone # that I could find.

Sad as I was really interested in some of these tools.

Oh well, back to Craftsman and other brands I guess.

if the quality is excellent, then why give a **** who makes them? :headscrat

Stanley is not one of my favorite companies. They are a big fan of outsourcing. They are also very deceptive in thier marketing and at one point blatently lied about where many of thier tools were truly being made. A rather unethical company from what I have read.

I had good results with Toptul; the wrenches arrived quick, fairly good quality, and with the discount, it was a good buy. Toptul does not appear to log in on GJ very often. Send him a e-mail ... he's pretty responsive .. his e-mail is [email protected] ... :)

I've found if you want to sell tools you need a good inventory. Sometimes when you need a tool you need it asap. Probably sales are walking out the door because your not stocked.
A tool truck going around to shops will go broke in a hurry driving around with an empty truck.
