This heater is several years old and started doing this. It produces heat and doesn't stink, but the popping is driving me nuts. When it's cold, sometimes the popping blows the flame out and the thing can't be trusted to start (it has a thermostat which is handy for unattended operation).
Took to the local repair center listed by Master, and while they worked on it and fiddled and cleaned it, I got it home and it's back to the same ****. They said they haven't seen one behave exactly like this.
The popping is so steady in time, that I wonder if it's electronic...like something wrong in the ignition circuit (like a bad capacitor). Does the spark plug run 100% of the time in these?
Is the nozzle dripping maybe? It's impossible to see the burn zone in these (without drilling a hole through it, LOL.)
Pressure has been varied all over the place. As you turn it down, it tends to get less "bangy" and when you crank it, it gets more violent.
