Dream cars in my dream garage! I tried opening up business a couple years ago for Mobile Auto Repairs when I was 20. Went really good for the first 6-8 months but then everyone and their brother became a mechanic. Wages started decreasing and business was scarce. I would love to do it again, but I think I would need a shop as well as a van like I had, to actually make more profit.
The van was pretty tight tho! 3500 chevy express with a tommy gate. could pack almost everything i owned in it. Full toolboxes, engine lift, engine stand. Looking at this makes me REALLY miss it!

Phenomenal.

I'm in North Alabama, and will come check things out when you get the new shop with storefront up.

Congrats on your steady improvement!

Every time I read an update you make to this thread, it causes me to go back through the whole thing! I'm seriously "man-crushing" on you right now! You've done so much in such a short amount of time at such a young age, we all can learn a thing or two from you!

I actually joined this forum specifically because of this thread. I've got to say I'm astounded by everything you've done.

Not only by the fact that you followed your dream, but the fact that you were/are so dedicated and hard working in order to achieve it.

I've always wanted to work on my S4 on my own, but haven't really had the garage to do so in. Your thread here is really inspiring (especially for me, being 20 myself). Especially because you started off so young.

I really enjoyed reading all of your posts and looking at your pictures. Keep it up, Mike!

Damn that's a nice shop man! Glad you are making it happen and seeing your hard work is inspiring.

Btw, I'm a Elevator Mechanic too. I love it but still wish I did what you do!

I really **** at updates....we've been so busy lately its crazy. Still in the old shop...still working out the details for a new shop in early 2013. I hired a great fabricator full time about two months ago which has been awesome. Since then I've been buying quite a bit of fabrication equipment...new lift should be acquired this weekend.

We have been in and out of the Horsepower TV studios quite a bit planning out some builds we will be doing with them for 2013. We begin filming again at the end of November so it has been a bit hectic around here lately haha.

I'm gonna get a big post together with updates and answers to your questions tonight or tomorrow. Tons of updates to share :) Thanks for the support!

All I can say is NICE job! I was born and raised in Franklin and moved the Family to NJ in 87. We then moved to Indy in 08. We have a home just a mile off the square across the Harpeth River off 96 and I’m about to build a 28 X 38 garage. Where is your shop located? If you don’t mind I’d like to stop by and check it out and ask some questions about the contractors you used.

Dude, you da man. Love when folks make sacrifices in life and it pays off. Glad you get to enjoy your profession, that's hard to come by sometimes. How is your acid etch floor holding up to fab, grinding, welding, etc?

thats cool man, details on the horsepower build if you can

There are actually a few builds going on with HP TV for 2013. First is our head mechanic's 96 integra getting a 2.6L stroker K-series with a rotrex supercharger...going to be setting the record for the highest horsepower supercharged K-series. Along with a lot of other upgrades to the car as well. Also helping with a FC Rx-7 getting a LS1, and later on next year building my 93 FD RX-7 on the show...going to be a very exciting year!

your dog is getting big! Real nice cars, I really like some of those subie's that you have built! Good luck in your move and Congratulations on how well your business is doing!

Appreciate it!!

Glad to hear its kicking on for you, second shop now that will be sweet with the knowledge you have from this build.

I'm really excited to move but I'm not gonna rush into it...the beginning of 2013 will help me determine when I make the move. The first big episodes of HP TV we are in air in January so I wanna see the impact it has on the shop first.

Nice! I'm right off 840 and exit down from i65 in Franklin. Shoot me a message and I'll get you some info. I'm originally from Jersey myself!

Not my truck, but that was the first time we came to the studio and met the crew there. We bring the vette back for another episode for HP Tuners where we tune the Z06 on the dyno and theres a little feature of the LS1 E30 :) Should be airing in a few weeks!

Appreciate it man! The floor is pretty beat up...the acid stain is permanent so it has held up great. I will need to re-seal the floor one of these days since it is so scratched up now haha.

Uploading a whole bunch of pictures right now! Time for some updates :)

I race with NASA Mid-South. They are based out of Memphis. You should come out for a trackday next season.

I finally ran across this thread and I am just amazed, the shear amount of progress and it is here for everyone to see. Congrats on the business and exposure on HP TV.

Reading this thread has started the mental gears going again, especially that E30. I have actually considered picking one up as a track car, my DD (11 STI) is too new and too expensive to do anything with other than HPDE. Any chance that E30 has been taken to the track, some in car footage would be really interesting to watch.

For now I'll just get some pictures going :) I think instead of huge update posts I'll try to do small updates but more frequently than I have been. Thanks for all of the support guys!

Not sure if I had posted about my Truck yet. I bought this 2012 F-150 Ecoboost with only 3 miles on it about 6 months ago. Love this thing!

I just got my latest edition of Honda Tuning. I was excited to see a fellow garage journal member in there. For those of you that don't get Honda Tuning (you should because everyone needs a modified Honda), Mike is mentioned on the cover and has five pages inside.

The awesome part of this is they usually only highlight shops that have been around for a while and/or have Honda historical significance. It is impressive to be one of the featured shops so soon in ones career.

Congrats to him!!!!!

I have to say that GJ is kicking a lot of celebrities up out of the dust with different magazines featuring them. I think that's great. And in some, not only are the members getting mentioned but GJ is getting mentioned too.!!!!!
