What kind of transmission does it have?
I'm partial to the hydrostat which is the most expensive.
Straight gear ****** is cheapest and shuttle is in between.
Apparently the NH tractors were prone to battery issues, most owners on Tractorbynet replaced the factory battery with the expensive Optima battery.
This tractor has the angled arm loader vs the curved arm. Not a big deal in my book. Overall, I'd say you did alright, but would like to hear more details.
Also, I'd encourage you to get on Tractorbynet, some very knowledgable folks on there as well!

As I said earlier I'm a proud owner of New Holland tc33 tractor. In my last post I told yall about the battery and power steering leak. Before we left that Friday evening I shot her a price of 10k to see how she would react and before she could really say anything I asked her what she was willing to sell it for she said 13k. I thought a little and told her it was hard for to say yes to that being that the tractor didn't start and we didn't know what was really leaking. I shot her another offer of 11.5k and she said she would take it.


Saturday morning I went back were the tractor was at and took the battery out to go get a new one. While taking it out I noticed that the positive terminal wasn't looking to good. Got a new battery, some battery terminals, and hydraulic fluid. Put the new battery in with the old positive terminal and nothing. We put a new terminal on the positive wire and it started right up.

I let the tractor run for a little before I went and drove it around and wiped the actuator where I thought it was leaking. I had my father in law turn the steering wheel and sure enough it was coming from the actuator it was a pretty good leak . Backed it out started driving around and operated everything. Everything worked great. When I was done driving it I went to her and explained to her that the leak was coming from the actuator and that it may just need to be reasealed or it may need a new one and that it could cost anywhere from $40-$500 depending on what it needed. I asked her if she would be willing to take 11.3k and she said ok.

The fun part came when we had to get the trailer in shape to get home. The trailer had a lock on the hitch and the key wouldn't unlock so we wound up drilling it off. That took about an 1hr that was one tough lock. I didn't mention in my last post that when we look at the trailer friday 3 of the tires were bad. Luckly my uncle had 2 used ones of the same size. I took off three tires and took two of them to get the used tires on. knocked off all of the rotted wood. All in all I think I got a really good deal and I am very happy.

I don't know enough about that tractor to comment on it, so I won't. However, the post hole digger looks to be a good brand in first class shape.

No pic of the trailer, but I suggest you paint it while the wood is off. White oak is the strongest wood for flooring, but any oak will do. It needs to have been dried before installing. I don't know where you are, so if you are in the Western states I don't know what wood is availiable.

If you go with treated pine lumber, try to find some that was kiln dried, other wise, it will shrink and split when drying. Any wood for trailer flooring hould be as knot free as possible. If you have a 2 x 8 with a 4 inch knot across it(not unusual) you have a piece with the strength of a 2 x 4.

As suggested already, if you are not already familiar with this site, I'd suggest the TractorByNet website.

Also, be sure to check out the same website for info on how to redeck a trailer. Specifically, look for threads from a guy whose handle is Diamondpilot. He has a really slick way of bending the deck boards so you don't have to cut and reweld the end channel. I wish I'd have known about it before I redid my last trailer.

By the way, looks like you got a great deal. That tractor is barely broken in, and should serve you well. Unless you have service records showing it has been serviced regulary, I'd recommend changing all fluids. My only other suggestion, and you may already know this, is to be sure to add diesel fuel conditioner and algae preventative to all fuel you buy. I'm still having a hard time thinking that diesel fuel can grow algae, but that's very possible with the new low sulfer diesel.

So the "shredder" is what most call a rotary mower, aka brush hog. I was wondering if that was the case.

That was a helluva deal! The post hole digger is a really good one with a heavy gearbox. That's good for getting into hard ground.

I paid $10k for my Cub Cadet MFWD that's about the same size over ten years ago with zero attachments (other than the loader).
