What did you think of the new tiny house village?
The first thing i noticed was most vehicles at the tiny homes had NM plates. This is most likely demand from the huge labor force from the surrounding motel/ commercial/ multifamily build out between Wally World and HD. That being the case, its impact on the housing crises is negligible. Don't know what form of ownership, lease, rental is going on here.
Homes are actually quite attractive and a lot of variety in design.
They need to get busy w/ decent skirting or fuel bills and plumbing repairs will make for a rough winter.
Within the village (compound) each has their private mini storage unit, which goes a long way towards being able to live in less than 400sq.ft.
The homes are oriented in typical row mobile home park style. Cant do much else and still keep the price point. Cramming all infrastructure needed into such a small footprint pushes the $ per sq. ft. way above the recently stated county average of $285 sq. ft. for new construction. I’ve followed the tiny home trend and haven't seen any use of slid outs like the RV industry which would avail a big gain in usable % of sq. ft. Guess heat loss is a big factor.
