Nice build.

Your going to be asking alot from a single battery. I have s winch on my car trailer thats hooked up to my vehicle battery. If the trucks running it never goes dead and not another battery to take care of/replace.
I drag logs onto my trailer so a little more dead weight and i could have nearly 100ft of line out. I fit about 4 logs on the trailer.

I was originally planning on two batteries but space is limiting me to one. A guy I work with has a similar trailer and set up with one battery. He says he has never had a problem with his deep cycle battery pulling up a car and running the ramp. I am putting on a trickle charger on top of having the truck charge the battery. Trailer will be plugged in when parked at all times. The use of the trailer would be to go and pick up one car a day max. I only probably use the trailer about 3-4 times a month.

Working on the battery tray but everything will be self contained in the tool box.

Congrats on the new child.

Have you considered adding a removable shelf above the hydraulic pump for added storage space in the box ?

Nice. I refurbed my car trailer about 5 years ago. I ran all the wiring in Liquid Tight conduit and kept all the grounds inside junction boxes. Used all stainless hardware and it seems to be doing well. Something to consider...it didn't cost much.

Yes I have. I am going to figure that out after final assembly. But was thinking I can utilize the space. The only thing I need access to is the winch cable release leaver.

Don't forget to do something to preserve your VIN tag. Only one I found on mine was the sticker in the tongue.

Mine started to peel so I laminated it fast. I want to add a second hidden one somewhere in case of theft sometime.

I think mine is stamped into the trailer tongue on my open trailer.

What'd it cost you to get it blasted and painted if you don't mind me asking

What is he going to paint it with ?

Brand/type of paint ?

Not sure. He is priming it with an Epoxy primer and multiple coats of low sheen black. Guy does allot of blasting and painting of equipment. (Dump trailers, bobcats, etc.)

More then I wanted to spend. Total for everything is going to be around $1500.00. One place quoted me $2800. I laughed and told them for another $1200 I could just buy a new trailer.

I was worried about that but I just took a picture and will have it remade. There are places online that will do it.

Trophy shops can make some good looking vin tags. We recently put them on our the specialty made trailers at the company I work for when the police started getting pickier about things down here.

You could also Weld the letters and numbers into the frame somewhere hard to find. Little late now I guess

Back from blasting and paint.

Came out really good for what I am looking for. Didn't realize I warped out the fenders as much as I did but they will be fine. Going to start with wiring the lights next then getting the deck put back on.

Like your work on this J. But one question, what is the fitting that is coming out the middle with the brown and white wires? I also like the stainless hardware too!!
